  • In my opinion you should go for Karizma ZMR,Its a very nice bike with stunning looks and the color which suited on ZMR the most is white.

correct. Old "What bike" threads should have a maximum time limit say 2-3months. After that theres no point disucussing on it.
        Whats there in a signature?

With all due respect I think Ken sir made this thread sticky in 2009 since the doubt of choosing between 220 and ZMR will always be there till the time these two bikes are available in the market and there are no major upgrades made to these two.

So Tejas I don't see any point in removing this thread at all ( just my opinion )

Though a lot has been said and discussed over all these years still I think we should still have this thread open; not to reply to the original 2009 post ( which I guess was because of unawareness ) but at least to discuss in case anybody comes up with a new doubt regarding these two rivals. Just my 2 cents.
Joy is realizing you still have one more page full of new posts to go on your favorite thread while you thought you are on the last one :-)

                • Sorry for copy paste from other thread
Karizma is no doubt a good option, however as it costs more or less similar to P220, I would recommend P220. The Torque, the shove that you get is something you got to experience.
Its a complete VFM package. The kind of performance you get at that price is unbeatable. I have been using P220 Dtsi for more than 3 years (approx 30K km), and the ownership experience has been very pleasant.
Also, with P220 you get awesome Bajaj Customer Service, even though Service Centers may or may not be good, a mail to Bajaj takes care of all the issues.
Also, spares of P220 are quite cheap, not that you will need it too often.
The fact that my 220 is Joeled (at 10K km) and it still runs perfectly fine, proves a lot about its reliability.

                  • Reliable? Long life? Definately the ZMR!! Honda-tech engine and a hero body.. With a stunning mileage of 45+ for a 223cc engine!! I own a zmr and believe me... If you are so damn greedy about the 'shove' then by my experience, just install a filter.. From my experience i've taken on stock p220s with ease. But not a 220 with filter.. But since you will not be thrashing your bike 24X7, i would recommend this beast.. Not for speed, nor acceleration, but for that butter smooth ride quality which you'll love, smooth acceleration and obviously the reliability.. And quality.
But if you are more interested in speed and breakneck acceleration then without thinking go for the p220.. Looks are super and even the ride control is pretty good.. All this for just under 1lac. I guess bajaj has become more reliable.. But not as much as HMC, Honda, Yam etc..

45kmpl+ !!! Then if this true then I guess ZMR is the best touring bike a person can own at 1.3L!! over any other bike!!!

I have heard 35-40kmpl but never heard 45kmpl+(city or Highway)!!!

I've got no profit of giving false information here. Go into the ownership thread and have a look at it yourself. PGMFI is not just a sticker. It works. And 45+ under sane riding and in highway. Create a poll if you have doubts.. 35-40kmpl? ZMR? Ridiculous!! Dude having a filter am getting average of 42-44!!

No doubt at all!! But just thought why few people whom i know are getting 35-40kmpl only!!! They ain't ripper at all!! But still would ask few more people on this and update all.

And a 223cc bike with an average of 45kmpl+ is real VFM under 1.3L INMO!!!

And mostly when we speak on average we won't give the best average we get, we would like to give an average wit mix riding i.e from 60-110kmph. When you ride for 45kmpl+, it means you know the best to get from ZMR, but all won't, so an average number, is good.

People claim 45-50kmpl+ for Duke or NS200, but these figures are when you control and ride, if you ride the machine for what it is been made for then the real figures comes out
35-45kmpl only.Which is not at all bad!!
                          Same is with ZMR!!

Don't be Hyper Bro!! I myself get 50+kmpl on my R15 but that is when i have to control my self, but when i ride to use the bike for what it is been made then i get only 35-45kmpl only!! So see the difference!! ZMR is an awesome bike too!! So it is possible!!

Ripping is not the only factor for mileage mind you.. As i said. Just go through the ownership thread. U'll know for yourself. The least i got itself is 37-39. And its not always 45+!!. its 40-45.. And 45+ plus on highways..When your in economy.

Yep!! i know that too!! So averagely it is 40kmpl+ still a good number!!

I've done your work simpler!! Go to the ownership thread of zmr.. I've asked them their mileage.. People have got upto 50kmpl!!! No one has got below 45 on highway.. And no one has got below 42 in city. You said 35-40!! That's the reason i argued back with you bro.. ZMR is above all in mileage in 220cc+ segment with enough power.. Not too much powerfull but enough power.. 35-40 is simply tough to be true.. Just ask your friends to change their riding styles.. Honest request..
