Just thought of reminding this, please tell everyone else to store the phone numbers of other riders by appending 0 or +91 in the beginning, since it will not be a local call there. I had faced the same problem and thought it was due to faulty network connection! Only later I realized my mistake.

Generally a dedicated thread is started every year for the ISG2Gs. Keep a look out in the Offline Meets section. You can also track Bangalore Kadambam thread for the same. Any bike which can do about 1500km without breaking down and can cruise comfortably at 80kmph is fine. This time from bangalore there are bikes ranging from a CD100 to RD350 and everything in between.

I am planning a solo week-long ride.

Pune-B'lore-Mysore-Pondi-Chennai-Hyderabad-Pune.

I wish to explore more around and would like suggestions from people who already have done this part.

I also heard about a ghat near blore/chennai which has 36 hairpin turns in 5kms(I cant remember the name)

All suggestions and experiences are welcome...

The ghat you are referring to is the Masinagudi - Ooty ghat section with 36 hair pins. Well if you like ghats then try out the ride to Kolli Hills - how does 70 hair pins sound? :P

that'd be great as I own a Honda Unicorn and BTW I will be able to come for rides, for something like one day ride and if it's there then I will be very happy to join 'em. . .

I have bought the boots for 650/- at the military store next to HSR layout police station.. but you get better boots than this (steel plating for toes & waterproof one) for around 600 bucks at Shivajinagar/Russell market area.. Just search army stores in gmaps..

Hmmm shivaji nagar is close to my office ... guess this is gona be a last minute purchase .. but dont you need a military ID card to buy stuff from a military store ..?

But for the ride Jackets and Glove is compulsory so try to get them asap

I have gloves and a water proof jacket and trousers. I am also getting some absolutely necessary spares and trying to get a tank bag. But so little time. Anyways Ill try my best.

Also, after servicing the biking today, I was told that my rear brake disc pad is gonna give up in 1000 kms. So got it replaced. But any idea why it wore out in just 4500 kms???[/QUOTE]


It depends a lot on your daily commuting route ... back in cochin i used to replace my pads every 7K kms ... in bangalore this has come down to an intervel of 5.2K kms ..
