      • Well, I'll check it out and the thing that worries me is that the "scooter shop" didn't have the Windtone 90, and he questioned as to whether the 90 one will even fit inside the Activa front panel. He said "the 90 one might be bigger than the 75 or the Super".

Am going there this weekend and will tell him to get the 90, and we'll see where this goes

The Windtones that were installed which, subsequently drained the battery,24 hours after the installation.(installation was carried out by a road side mechanic and without the 'Relay').

              • hello everyone
i have a problem with my activa(clocked 50K on the odo)

we all know we should accelerate slowly and steadly and should avoid sudden accelerations

sometimes we have a situation when we are in a hurry or want to overtake this freakishly slow truck in front of us and we twist the throttle a little more

when i do this...twist it harder than usual this engine knocking happens..the metallic sound coming from the engine.....when i ease up on the throttle its gone...so what do u guys suggest? i always use the premium fuel so not the case of low octane fuel

as its been driven 50K kms i was thinking about getting the engine opened up and get it decarbonised and get the valve clearnaces checked and set...

any other suggestions...what would be the approx cost for this...

                • Hi all.. Need some help here

Hi to all. I am a member of xbhp since past few months. And a regular follower of karizma r thread. I also have an activa at home ( 2005 model 50k on odo). And even I am amazed to see how the scooter is running after 7 years of abuse and torture. Now I am planning to do a complete repair of both interior and exterior and whatever that is causing problems in my ride. So i need all your help and suggestions. Here is the list. Its gonna be a long one .

                  1) Headlight out of focus. And can halogen be fixed? any better alternatives?
                  2) Front headlight unit and all the fibre part attached to the handle is rattling like anything ( Thanks to me I did 220 kms one side in 3 and half hours over not so good roads it was one and half years ago and the scooter is still living with it )
                  3) The bike lacks pick up. Seems like replacing air filter will make it better. But the problem is inside the engine. But don't know what it is. When i give throttle the bike revs but it won't pull up slopes like it used to in her early days.
                  4) oil leak don't know where from. Its obviously from the engine side. Hope the mech will find it.
                  5) cone set has to be replaced. Handling is not so good. ( SVC guys said that 2 years ago still running with it)
                  6) Front mud guard dented. Crash guard needs replacement.
                  7) Spark plug needs replacement. Any better options than stock one?
                  8) Planning to do a complete body repainting. Any ideas of cost? and is the old type stickers available? want to maintain the stock look.

And what are the checks/ replacements that has to be made to the engine and any other running parts that I have missed out.

This scooter has been a part of the family and we are not at all willing to sell it off. The cost is not a problem but have to get it back as it was when it came out of the showroom ( or at least something close enough).

And I have no idea about the availability and price of the parts required and no clue if I should book for the parts and waiting period. The bike has never visited SVC after free services are over. And oil was changed like 4 times maximum in these 50k kms.

You should have changed the engine oil every 2500-3000kms.
The bore and piston needs to be replaced,IMO.I think you can get the parts of the old Activa very easily (here in my city,it is available off the shelf).Stick with the stock spark plug.
Cone set will cost around INR 350,and the repaint job INR 2500-3000 along with the stickers.
The whole expenses may be around 10k or more than that.

I know its launched and not only that, I have booked it for my sister. What I mean by word is review on it by xbhpians. I know its a same engine as in Activa and all but still its a altogether different package along with tubeless tires for first time as well. So wanted to know first hand review and not that you already saw it in Hyderabad.

If anyone could answer, I want to know that how the teflon coating goes with matte finish colors? Is it suitable or or what? It always worked well for my Dazzler but its glossy finish and that on new Grey Dio is of completely different type and I have booked same color. When I raised the same doubt to showroom guys, they too were confused and said you can do it whenever you are comfortable and when you want.

Test rode my friend's new Matt Grey coloured Dio and was utterly disappointed!
The ride quality is as pathetic as it is in the current Dio(i.e,nowhere near the new Activa!) and the console looks odd.
TBH,the Dio's forte was it's looks and the current one isn't as good looking as the old one but it(new Dio) still feels light.......and flimsy.
Seating position is waaaay better and the Paint-job quality and the engine refinement is awesome
