My sister test ride it along with Activa, Aviator and Access 125 and she found new Dio to be most comfortable for her. She has no technical knowledge about vehicles so couldn't comment on refinement but she said that it was smooth and better pick up than both activa and aviator.

I think ride quality depends a lot on physique and style of person as well. Many girls find activa and aviator bulky and heavy causing to uncomfortable feeling.

Moreover she's happy about looks so we finalized it. As its a Honda, I think I have little to worry about other things like performance. After sales is good here too.

I think it has got the exact same engine as in new Activa and both of them share many similar technologies like combi brake so there is little risk in deal.

My Honda Dio got serviced today at Silicon Honda Service center and the bill read 1030 Rupees!(Up from the 847 INR,last time around)
But the service was good(as usual)
ODO reading:13117 Km.

I had bought my Activa from Radiant Honda, Lucknow & got the first free service done at Radiant Honda service center ,Lucknow. It's due for it's second service now but I find that this service center is not listed on the Honda2wheeler website.

Just wanted to know whether it's an authorized center or not since it's convenient for me to go to this center as it's the nearest one of all the Honda service center.

Got new (2012) Honda Dio for my sister on 12th of this month but didn't got much time to rode it but today I ride it for odd 45 kms and just one word came out- awesome!

When I first sit on it and pushed starter, I was surprised by its firing. Engine makes a grunty sound like having lot of grunt underneath (yes.. for a scooter!). Sound is almost similar to Apache but ofcourse lower and little softer than it. And it has got exhaust note much like sport bike! It gives good feeling and sounds nice to ears! I am not much into scooter riding so I have no idea about other scooters and how they feel but I have rode TVS Wego, HH pleasure, and 2008 Honda Activa 102cc model 2-3 times and they were quite a like a normal scooter where this new Dio has sporty feel all over it. I thought all these things will come at a cost of smoothness but I was totally wrong. Its a typical Honda engine in terms of smoothness and refinement is top notch! I really mean it! I again and felt like riding petrol engine car (by going on smoothness).. no exaggeration! Other manufacturers should really learn something from Honda that how to refine engines. really..

Coming back to sporty stance, even the horn is different and sounds deep like in pulsars and R15. I don't know what Honda thinks. My Dazzler's horn sounds a whole lot like a scooter and I felt like embarrassed when listened back Dazzler's horn after Dio's.

Even the headlamp design somewhere resembles to CBR and adds muscular look to design. Overall I think they have taken a 'Moto Scooter' tag too seriously.

Parking lamp is nice addition. I don't know whether its present on new Activa or other new generation scooters but its certainly useful to have it.

So overall, this new Honda Dio is more trendy, a lot more sporty (beyond the usual concepts of scooter ), a nice package and good for both sexes especially youngsters and a bang for money (6K cheaper than Activa!)

I loved the White color more than any other. Looks very Classy and neat.
The Matt greay didn't appeal me as it was shown in the photos. Looked very pale and has a old scooter feel. Just IMHO.

Got my Activa's 2nd service done yesterday. Had told the service center about a few problems I have been facing.

In my Activa, choke lever doesn't stay in it's place when pulled out ,instead goes back on it's own within seconds of being pulled out. What could be the reason for this? I have got back my Activa but the service center hasn't done anything about it. Should I take this up with Honda or take it to a different service center ?

Any suggestions on the best honda service center in Lucknow .

Hello Honda Activa owners,

Did someone tried a HL swap with the new one to the old model?

I have one 2002 model and being a light maniac, stock light spread is not sufficient for me. But I don't want to convert it to full DC and use an HID on a scooter which has got a very powerful reflector than bikes. So my plan is to swap the HL assy with the new model HL assy. Have seen one guy with the new HL assy but the fairing was different than the new one must be a custom made one, couldn't clarify with that fellow that time as he was going opposite. I guess if I go for the front fairing its feasible. Any leads about the price of HL assy + front fairing?

If not, what would be the best practical remedy? My mech told that 2007 model has got a better HL assy than the older model and its snap fit with the 2002 model, is it right? Some how I wont fully rely on grease monks in electrical suggestions and you all know why Any idea?

BTW, Recently I've upgraded the horns with Wagon R twins which is of Hella has got a sweet sound and its not disturbing my 2 yr old battery. I feel its more suitable for a 5AH battery. The only down side is that the front shell is not permitting the full sound to outside. And the cost part is more tempting just 320/- for pair

activa servicing prblm

i had just dropped off my activa for 3rd free servicing at the Sterling Honda,Pimpri,pune Centre. the scoot had the front panel misalignment issue where it was misaligned wit the body wit a visible gap,some how the panel was misaligned and came out. So i asked the guy to fix it and he said that the misalignment was normal and all activas have some kind of misalignment,i cross checked all other activa's there, their front panel was intact and integrated,i told him that, den he gave me rply that if u want to repair it then u will have to go for denting and painting job,i was like wtf!!!
and worse hear the casual rply of that person "that all activa's have some kind of misalignment or other",is honda noticing or they hav employed 3rd grade students to manufacture their scoots.
i need to sort this issue out. wat should i do and whom should i complain.
also the bike is in mint condition,in warranty and no accident whatsoever...pls help....
