Actually what I really want is to capture a 240fps wide angle of a bike fly by - leaning through a fast corner. Now man that shit will hit the roof after being edited to perfection..! Ok now this is getting wistful thinking and I should stop. Let's first start small with normal fly bys...!!!
Ah! Looks like I finally found my camera crew!!

240fps on a fast corner? I am game right now!! (My profile pic should say something about it ) We can even get it from multiple angles using mine and Divya's 50fps shot!

Looks like its going to be a busy Sunday!!

Dude, seedha baat, every one is taking turns, also if we had a tri pod then it would have been great, but no worries since in true blur jugaad technology normal rock and stones stacked up on back packs work just right as well...!!

I'll bring my tripod... Just one query, can your cam take vids @ 240 fps? Wanna try the same on mine...

I think the resolution would be lesser at 240fps (must be 480p) & no, our HX100V doesnt have that option, 50fps at all resolutions

& guys, we are going OT here, lets keep these discussions as PMs or VMs

First Impressions after 300kms with 33mm semi-flat Mikuni carb + 50mm conical Simota airfilter:

After numerous attempts at fiddling the stock carb trying to get the tune right and reading about how a bike speaks a different language once bigger semi-flat carbs are installed, I finally decided it was time for the next upgrade
[Just read the lines in bold if you want to skip details ]

Called up Joel multiple times and finally he was free last Sat and it was time

Also got the steel braided brake lines for front and rear since i felt the braking was no longer enough after this Stage 2 upgrade.

Here are a few pics of the carb and the filter.

You can see that the filter is safely tucked within the side cover (it is not even visible). So the rains shouldnt be that much of a problem.

One of his mech Dinesh did the installation work. One thing I would say is his mechs are very competent and they do the job quite quickly without wasting any time or showing any signs of laziness unlike any other mechs you normally come across.

Once everything was in place, I cranked and it was confirmed, the bike no longer speaks the same language and also speaks in a different voice

Took it for a short ride and before i realized tacho was hovering around 8k in 1st gear, same with 2nd and 3rd gear .. The clear difference is the way in which the tacho jumps to higher rpms, it freely revs upto 10-11k (didnt push it further) with a significant reduction in vibrations.. the bike wont complain at all.. Also the backfiring of exhaust reduced a lot.. Regarding brake lines, I couldnt make out a lot of difference since it will take time to function properly.

But the stretch was too short to test more.. so came back, settled Vitamin M and hit the NICE road on the way back. (NICE road is an express corridor from southern to nothern part of Blore, which is used for all top speed tests ).

Reached 138kmph fully crouched and 132kmph sitting upright but there were few vehicles, so I am not sure how much more it could do. After sometime I realized some change in the bike's behaviour and also somewhat louder exhaust note & yeah dB killer flew off somewhere on the way

Now riding without db killer in city, was initially quite irritating since i could not really cross 6k rpm without deafening the fellow motorists but now got used to riding at low rpms, will be getting a new dB killer as soon as I can squeeze time to visit Joel.

Also the difference with new brake lines is quite noticeable now.. brakes are more sensitive than before, a slight squeeze is enough for usual braking. Also it is very easy to modulate the brake since the braking increases linearly as you squeeze the lever.

And what are steel braided brake lines? Well, the normal brake lines bulge under pressure when you brake which will result in slightly poor braking whereas steel braided ones dont bulge at all thus achieving max braking from the calipers.

Now the million dollar question, kitna deti hai?

Well I couldnt accurately measure it yet but initially I got around 33kmpl (which incl blast on a highway, hills and curvy roads and 2 lane state roads) and got around 35kmpl in full city riding.. & this was without db killer.. will get the accurate FE figures soon. Btw I dont really care about FE now for the way its performing

Also the tune is almost perfect throughout the rev range, but the idling is fluctuating quite a bit. To correct this, the fuel screw has to be fiddled with but it is located at the bottom of the carb which is not easy to access, will get it perfected when I will be going for the dB killer.. anyways, it doesnt affect performance in anyway..

Infact it has that nice unevenness in exhaust note at idling which makes it sound like inline 4 bikes Also if you let off throttle at 5k rpm, it has a nice thunder like sound till the revs drop down completely, which is really addictive (I sometimes simply slow down just to listen to it )

Will also get new chain and sprockets since the ODO is about to hit 20k, and also try out the 15T sprocket at front once again. Will keep you guys posted on more details soon. Watch out for a video too.

Had forgotten to add this part earlier.

The thing about these upgrades is, its not just about top speed or 0-60 timings. Sure I might be able to shave off 0.5 seconds or hit 20kmph more top speed but what really matters is the ease of riding.. For eg, riding with pillion is no longer strain full like before.. to overtake, just a short twist is enough.. can easily cruise at a higher speed on highways without much hassles.. and moreover I can enjoy better performance without changing my bike!

BTW, your ride should be producing about 23-25 PS now right?
PS One more 5 star for your thread

& one more thing, Apache 180 is a much powerful bike , you have made it even better.
                          Loved it to the core.
Even stock RTR180s do that speed in 3rd gear. Even 160s do. 160s hit rev limiter at 99km/h in 3rd gear around 11000-11500 RPM. 180s should do 105-110 in 3rd gear around 12000 RPM. But Adarsh's 180 should just fly till that point without any trouble

& Yeah it might produce close to that amount of power now, but there is no way to find out... & thanks for the stars

Yeah, how it reaches there matters.. and also there is no point in revving till 11k rpm the peak power is in 8-9k rpm range, going above that will reduce the power.

Exactly. I can easily feel the bike running out of juice post 9000RPM.

I meant that you will hold the grab rails so tight

Anyways, here is a video of a small stretch on my way back from office. It was a 24min video, thanks to Bangalore traffic, only this 25seconds is the fun part!

Exhaust note with Race Concepts kits on RTR180 - YouTube

In the video, initially the throttle must have been at 1/4th position, notice the change in sound when it is whacked!!
Also please note that the tachometer is faulty & it jumps to double the actual rpm.. & this is the best I could get out of my mobile cam
