i don't get it... you said "pick up takes a hit"...
and then u gave an example of 54-55 at 4000RPM.
that's not an example of your pickup taking a hit.


besides... a 1km to 3km "visible" difference isn't exactly a problem.

remember... ur speedo is digital... and your RPM meter is analogue.

so what you see as 4000RPM might actually be 4050 / 4100RPM.

same as above... what's the difference in top gear at 9000 RPM?

@xionite: A bit. It also feels more sluggish with a pillion than it did before this problem started becoming apparent. Also, I quoted the RPM-speed figures because that was something I could quote exactly. I never timed my accelerations - so. Another example I can give is that my speed would rise with the rpm pretty instantly. For example, now if i accelerate to 5000 rpm fairly quickly and hold the throttle there, it would gradually accelerate from 63-68 (while still remaining at 5000rpm). Whereas earlier, the bike would already reach 68 when the revs reached 5K. Now to put it another way, my engine would not accelerate to a rpm that would not coincide with the speed earlier. But now it does and the bike gradually reaches that speed after a few seconds (so yeah, that is definitively sluggish, right?). Also I did a top speed run a few days back on a highway and it didnt cross 118. Earlier the speedo easily showed 124 as the rev limited blinked. But yes in this case, cross winds and egnine temp could be a factor. I'll check the 9000rpm thing today and post back.

I should tell you that this problem sort of coincided with a valve setting the SVC did. In my last service, they loosened the tappets so much that the click click noise was very prominent. They themselves acknowledged it and instead of adjusting the tappet clearance, the mech removed the tank and opened the two covers on the top of the engine to make adjustments on something. Since then, there is an increased grunt under heavy acceleration. I don't know if it is related.

hear is my setup for gps for now,one iphone armband from ebay.in cost 200 inr. mobile is nokia 5230.
12 volt supply from battery with oem nokia charger.
not fully waterproof but def shockproof ,dust proof and speed proof upto 120kmph.also the hight is very good and i dont have to take the eye of the road.
cons-well part of left hand side miror not usable but we can get that woked out by proper setting of the mirror.

Well for the info it is for 800 rs. Very good and affective as today some one tried to steal my petrol and she started screaming and the guy ran like hell from there. Plus when u forget to unlock and if u r some one else try to put there key she starts screaming and engine is also automatically cut. So tension khatam my baby is secured is yours?

Warranty will be void. And if the job is not done professionally, then electrical issues like battery draining, short circuit during rains might occur.

Bike has run 3700Kms,can i switch to semi-synthetic oil or is it best to continue with mineral oil till 5000kms.Also how is Mobil mineral oil compared to bajaj dtsi oil?Has anyone used it?

Suggestion is dont switch to synthetic as we do tend to red line the bike and its not that thick either...
You use mineral oils for 5000kms....not good...it should be drained every 2500kms!!!!! it keeps the engine in top end condition if you do that!!..
Mobil--yes my friend had used it once....and thats all he did....just used it once and ensured never again!!!
