  • Problems:

    1) Whenever I brake and the front shock-up make Khat noise. I am sure the spring issue has returned back and this time with full force.

    2) Krrrrrr.... noise (increases with rpm) from the handle lock keeps coming, it is like that from past 6-7 months. And has increased now, it irritates me like HELL!!! I would break the lock some day. Heck..

    3) Still running on Bajaj Oil, gear shifts are hard, although the oil performs well under moderate riding. Need to change that too now. Alternatives are being searched.

    4) Brake shoes, front and rear needs replacement BADLY! no brakes from past 1500kms.

Other than that the bike is running fine.

      being searched... as in??
research still underway? or looking for stock of a particular oil?

how come you haven't considered Motul 300V FactoryLine??

The current tyre is 3.00x18 Dunlop. Can I use 90/90x18 tyres without fouling with the mudguard clearance? I have been looking at the MRF Zapper FS. Any other brands I should consider? I will only be using the bike on city roads and highways. No offroading.
You should try in the tires thread. Pirrellis are good.

When you lube the drive chain always cover both stands with cloth or piece of paper so that the excessive oil won't spill on the hinges and stand won't make any noise.

        Welcome,
        Follow the running-in carefully.
Keep the choke pulled for 30 secs before starting the day.
Never let Authorized Service Center (A.s.s) to pour engine oil. Always use your own. Don't use Bajaj Dtsi oil or castrol.
Motul, Valvoline are good. I would suggest to use Motul 3000v 15W50 oil for first servicing.

        Suspension oil?
My suspensions also have become lazy.

Aaree baba, put few drops of highly viscous oil into gaps. Noise will go away.

You're not being realistic. You can still stop the bike using engine braking, can't you? changing brakes shoes is such a hip, it has became a trend now.
and anyway braking a lot reduces fuel average.

As lockhrt999 said my bike BLEEDS Motul. AMSOIL 20w50 fully synthetic oil is what I am looking for, have seen a few cans in some of the garages but they were empty. Other oils include MOBIL oil for bikes.

Shock-up oil and spring bent, last time the mechanic said that due to less oil the spring has taken toll on it thus will need replacement next time.

DAIL has stopped making noise, Thanks to you. The noise comes from below the lock, where there is hardly an space to get even one finger into.

That is true. I use engine braking only, for now. But for emergency situations nothing other than BRAKES do the job.

          • iam facing the same problem with my bike at the moment!!!
When front brakes are applied the fork goes down and weird noise comes as if something has broken inside....last month after completing 24,000kms its fork oil was drained and replaced!!!!!

kinda freaks me out everytime when this thing happens!!!

It happened with me when I too got the fork oil changed. I complained and it was found the the Bajaj SC guys have filled almost 50% less oil in both the forks and thus the springs were damaged and those were making noise during braking or bumps. Get it checked.

                • @jasmine: Nice pictures, Nice Bike and one cannot do anything major related to riding posture on a stock bike, it is decided by the dynamics of bike and looks no different than to those of tall riders.

many thanks mate...really i was looking for bike that suites my hight and weight, that means a tall and massive bike. i was very happy to become the owner of this monster. somany friends told me to go for apache...but i was setted my mind to this tall mann instead of a lighter apache. even r15 felt me as a toy..its tank size and all sucks instead of its finishing. after owning this tall boy everyone praised me for my selection.
i would suggest all tall boys to go for this tall monster machine.....

tried to take off that....but it removes paint also....so cant do that.
                          whole visor work included Rs.100.

                          • @Jasmine Rider: Red jasmine really suits you!!
Any posture is good till you're hitting gym.
Don't keep arms straight, bend them through elbow like a super bike rider.
Visor stickering is cool. It would impose poor visibility issues at 120+ speed for my kinda rider.

                            • Well finally the figure is out of the bike when I had filled for the first time 15W50 oil motul well see for your self

this when I had filled the oil at the time the reading was 8991

This when it became empty 9336

9336-8991=419 km / 10 ltrs = 41.90 round figure 42 average only in city riding conditions where as every thing is changed now I have filled 1 lt. To check the correct average from reserve to reserve what I always do. Lets when she comes to reserve. Well every penny counts Yaar. I remember when I used to fill 20W50 of moto 4 gold I used to get somewhere near 48 exact. Well if I get the same average then I will shift back to 20W50 and put 15W50 only for winters and not summer.
