I tried finding a link from Autocop to post it here but there site is just bonkers. I'll go and confirm it once again and tell you how much it is retailing here in Delhi. Lajpat Nagar in Delhi has a huge after-market for cars and there is an Autocop dealer over here which had it.Originally posted by arjunb25 View Post

I want to replace the front tyre of my Pulsar 180 UG1. I want to improve the bike's stability on the highway. What is the widest tyre I can use at the front? The current tyre is 3.00x18 Dunlop. Can I use 90/90x18 tyres without fouling with the mudguard clearance? I have been looking at the MRF Zapper FS. Any other brands I should consider? I will only be using the bike on city roads and highways. No offroading.

Guys help me out.
Initially my bike used to give me 50 km/lt. Average in city riding conditions at the speed of 40. Then it came to 45, then later on to 40. Well till here It was ok then I got the bike serviced with everything. Meaning new engine oil motul 15W50, new spark plugs, new filter, chain cleaning. Then I got 10 ltrs. Put in it at 8917 km now after a runin of 295 km i.e. At 9212 km I see a red light indicating low fuel wow only 29 average. Man I rather do something about this.
Well I went to the service station today explained my problem so they open the spark plugs to check and it was showing good average I mean it was brown in color. Then they tuned the bike again and asked me to verify the average now.
Well when I used to put moto 4 gold 20W50 in my bike i used to get 48-50 average. Now for the first time I have put motul 15W50 and got this kind of a response I want to ask the experts out there is it that by putting a different grade of engine oil does it makes any difference on the average?
Well I am planning of switching it back to moto 4 gold 20W50 and see the bike performance. What do u all suggest I don't rip her I don't do hard brakes just a smooth sale at 40 @ 3000 rpm.
Well please give me your expert advice on this.

Thanks
1. Getting your bike filled at the same pump as you use do it.
2. checking for the color of the spark plug is not a full proof method. get a on -board mileage check and get the CO and HC content checked, to check whether the fuel is burning properly or not.
3. motul is a good oil , i do not see any problem ... keep it running.. i have used it many times in my previous bike .. no issues on that.
4. once again check the mileage by your self.
5. it might be a case that when u got the bike serviced , the servicing ppl emptied the tank.. and thereafter you filled in 10 litre so you getting low mileage.RIP Marco

answer: well initially I never had a lock in the fuel tap know I have got it done. Well there might be a possibilitie that some on took out petrol as the prices have gone up well for the service people can't do this as I always stand next to the bike and get it serviced Infront of me. Well let me fill in 1 ltrs and get back to u.click me

ThanksI don't understand few things. How could you believe that red light? It's abysmal way to calculate the average. Generally it starts glowing when you have somewhat 4 or 5 liters left in the tank. Anf again fuel gauge is not accurate.Originally posted by arjunb25 View Post1. Numbers you mentioned above mean you rode 295 Km using 5 or 6 liters only . So the average is between 49 to 59.
Engine oil can't change the average to this extent, change can be 2-3%.
The good way of averaging fuel consumption:
Get a small (> .5L) bottle and fill it to the brim with fuel from the tank of the bike. Note the capacity in ml. Keep that bottle below pillion seat. Rode the bike till it runs out of fuel completely. Pour all fuel from the bottle. Reset the trip counter. Go to petrol pump. Fill more than 5-7 litres petrol. Note the fuel amount. Again fill the same bottle with petrol from the tank of the bike. Rode it till it runs out of petrol again. Note the trip meter.
now calculate.
Average = trip / Liters of petrol filled at petrol pump.
You took too extreme steps. You shouldn't have changed the AFR in the first place. Factory tuning is the best. Tuning is tend to go wrong 95% times. Tuning is not as easy like changing tyres or liners.
There is a way of checking whether the bike is in good tuning. Check whether you can get to 0-60 in 5 secs ( use 1st and 2nd gear only). check your top speed is 120+.
checking average by putting 1 liter fuel, 200 ml fuel, using reserve method, red LED etc,. are utterly useless. Trust me.Last edited by lockhrt999; 05-20-2011, 11:38 PM.

Well tomm.. I shall take out all the petrol in open position and come to know how much petrol is there in the tank.click me

.then some times 3 bars disappeared. then again full
again 3 bars. then red blinking etc just after completing 100kms

this shitty instrumentation goes wrong like this...really disappointing quality...

handle with care during run in. keep avoid harsh riding accelereations, and high speed rides...if you want good mileage then keep going at 40- 60km/h speed.dont stuck in any particular speed. change it...it will settle your engines piston. many congrats for being a owner of value for money bike.
