        • Guys, I have some questions on the new P180(UG4)

          1. Does this bike vibrate? Say like the previous versions? Or is the engine smooth like a honda??

          2. Does this bike loose its power with a pillion??

          3. Is this bike good for hilly riding conditions??

          4. What speeds does this bike do in a given RPM?? at 3k, 4k & 5k on 5th gear??

          5. How about the quality of parts fitted(swith gear, clipons etc..) Any rattling kind of noices??

I really appreciate your valuble ideas please...
          Thanks in advance..

the UG4 "feels" like the smoothest of all pulsars.

decent. tho the fairing vibes can be an issue.
            but nothing a lil two-way tape/foam/thermocol can't fix tho.

              • are u talking about fairing vibes? 'cos those usually creep up at 4000/4500 RPM.

Am pretty sure that its no the sound from exhaust. As XIONITE has mentioned, it appears only around 4000 to 4500rpm.

Anyways, had cleaned the chained today with diesel and then lubricated it with tvs truchain spray.

The engine is obviously not as vibe-free as a Honda but it is pretty smooth and a remarkable leg-up from prior versions.

The lower power band does not feel sluggish at all even with a pillion. The mid-range however is pedestrian. The torque again makes a comeback at the higher side of the powerband.

No experience there but when it comes to handing, the 120-section rear tyres offer brilliant grip. The bike is fairly heavy but the engine is more than sufficient to lug around that weight even on a good incline. But then again, I can't say for sure.

Not usually, no. Some slight issues do crop up but nothing you'll be losing your sleep over. Yes gear shifts can be an issue the moment you use an inferior oil (read: Bajaj DTS-i 10,000 oil).

                        • First ever problem

                          Hi Folks,

This is my first ever problem with my pulsar 180 UG4.
I hear a sound that makes me feel that some moving object is probably touching the sides when the bike is running.
I checked with bajaj serv cntr, the guy told that it is problem with the sprocket and needs replacement (will cost INR 1200). I do not think that he did right checking (sincerely I do not trust them 100%).
I do not understand how sprocket can make sound. Neither I see that it is bent nor I see that it is damaged!
The sound seems to be coming out from in between the engine and rear wheel. It looked like the chain is making sound, so with the center stand on, I tried to catch the origin of sound running the engine (on 1st and 2nd gear), but this sound was not there.
It is audible when the bike is on move and I hold the clutch (bike is free), otherwise when the gear is in action, the sound of engine hides this sound.
It is awful chak chak sound with interval of approximately 0.30 seconds.

Please help, I am just clueless.

                          Regards,
                          R

FACED THE SAME PROBLEM JUST SOME WEEKS AGO...
its normal mann...now its disappeared without doing anything. according to the s.c guy its coming from the chain. and its normal, its coming after some kilometers, and will dis appear..earlier i was tooo much disturbed by this sound like somthing is rubbing against the chain...but in my case it was noticesable only when accelerator is used. its normal mannn...will go after some kms i think...just waite and see..

Nops! When I accelerate, I do not hear the sound because of engine sound.
When I hold the clutch, I hear it.
The sound is on for couple of weeks now and never stops!
I feel that because of this, mileage is also down as it is some kind of mechanical obstacle. Previously I had been getting 40+, not it is hardly 35.

Is your chain slackness proper? Try oiling the chain and then see. Was your bike running on a dry chain for long?
