Guys, need help with tyres for my 2006 P180 DTSi. Its run around 28600+ kms till now on stock tyres. I need to change the rear tyres in two or three days, and front also in the coming weeks. I have posted the same querry in the tyres thread as well, but posting it here because its better to learn from other pulsar users.
Stock- 100/90 17 Zapper C Rear. 90/90 17 Zapper FS front.
READ the forum, but all this has left me even more confused on which one will best suit me.
Requirements-
- Cornering grip is not a big priority, but i need good stability. Average speeds around 60+, and i like the occassional clean corners. But usually, more of a cruiser than a stunter.

- Braking grip on sands/wet surfaces. (IMO stock Zapper-C does not grip under hard braking)
Options-
Went to a few shops, and saw these-
Rear-
- MRF Zapper C TT/TL.
- MRF Meteor 100/90 TT (Looked good and wide, and felt soft than my stocktzapper!). How is the performance of this tyre?
- Dunlop Monster. (Felt almost like Meteor)
- Michelin shop told they dont have anything in 17, only for 18!

Front-
- MRF Zapper FS 90/90 17
Which of these would suit my requirements? As of now, i am thinking between Dunlop Monster/ MRF Meteor. Any other brands i should consider? Since i dont know the city too much, it would be good if someone from Chennai can point out some good shops as well.
I have always felt my bike rpm is high! Its already around 5k rpm at 60kmph! Will have to check for 100kmph.Originally posted by sachi2icekold View PostPoll-guys,at wat rpm do you reach 100kmph on your bikes?
I did it today @ 7200~7300rpmLast edited by CrAzY dRiVeR; 02-05-2010, 10:37 AM.

@himanshum-at 1st they put the wrong oil(15w40),i asked them to replace it with the 20w50oil which is actually the recommended one.So He drained out the 15w40 oil and then put the recommended oil...I paid only for the recommended oil that was put in my bike..
Another funny thing that happened is,when he drained the 15w40(new one),it had turned from clear yellowish colour to dark brown colour! That means it cleaned my engine hehehe
@abhi-me took it to 100 for the 1st time, just to check if i feel any vibes, but there were zero vibrations!

dude, you're insulting HIM.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostAt 7.3K my bike reached 100kmph, though i only had got only one chance till now to rip the 'pocket rocket' at 100 in 6000kms of its small travel.

in 6000km,only one time???

iam shocked ,i have reached there many times, not for a constant period though. And at that speed you have to have your concentration on the road rather than on the rpm meter ,i feel.

Yes, it might feel insulting for a 'shear power' beast, I only do things if they are required and in normal city riding my bike hardly gets the chance to hit that mark.
OT: I only ride it at 80kmph maximum and that too when i am in hurry, otherwise you give me a 100km empty stretch(zero traffic) and i will not cross 60kmph mark.

^yup, went to chennai for a refreshment.
well,me either, same like you, when you provide me sufficient road i'll hit the marks otherwise max 80 on a normal day with normal traffic and zero hurry.-------------------------------

By the way, The 180 begs hard to ride it hard so why not make it happy with right wrist twist!!
I usually do 90 plus everytime i take my bike out and be it highways or mad mad traffic i keep it at more than 7k rpm no matter what!! Doing this will make your bike smooth at high rpm range, when i ride my friend's p180 it feels somewhat harsh after 7k and at 9.5k it feels like engine will blast!! I guess as i ride at high rpm's my bike got used to it and it feels much much smoother than other 180's
Replaced the clutch plates at 30k kms and pickup is back on track again!!Fun Starts at Redline!!!
