I guess i was not clear with my words , actualy abhi i wanted to say same thing,, i gues not convayed properly. i mean this time i will let all fuel which is till Main level utilized till the time my bike resist to move further & would require to move the nob towards Reserve position. as i always topup my bike with aroun 200-500 rs fuel every time whenever i see fuel bar around 2-3, thus unabele to identify what mileage my bike is giving from reserve pointA to reserve pointB.. (concluding i m not able to reach point A)

Don't trust the fuel guage bars in Digi. meter. Their reading is wrong most of the time, in my bike it never shows correct reading. I now could only advise bajaj to shift back to 'Analog Fuel meter', becuz they show more accurate fuel than this digi. thing.

Here is my small review of Valvoline 20W50 Synthetic oil:
          > The oil is worth every penny that has been paid.
          > I felt it better than Motul 5100 T infact Motul 5100 couldnot even match an inch in Valvoline smooth character.
          > The UG4 is happy with it too, I rode it at speeds of 105-110kmph with pillion constantly for 80kms of my short ride and the bike never felt overstressed and the vibrations didnot eagered to creep up.
          > Previously my bike used to give jerks whenever i rode it in 5th gear @ 27kmph and was smooth(no jerks) only at speeds of 32kmph+ on 5th gear, but, now the story is different the bike easily cruises without any jerks even at 25kmph in 5th gear.
          > The feel of the bike when started at the morning(cold start) has also improved.
          > The noise of the engine has reduced dramatically.
          > Engine runs cooler in stop and go city traffic & when i say it cooler it is Damn! cool.
So, my final thoughts are, buy it and feel the change.

Hmmm, that's weird, are you talking about the fuel indicator that goes blank even if there is enough fuel in the tank?,if yes, then you are true, that fuel indi is of no use, utter crap, mind you i am not talking about the speedo console, apart from the fuel indi everything is top notch.
But if you are talking about whole console going blank without showing any figures, then it is unusual.
And remember,Bajaj is the one who bought this thing in indian market, very unique of its kind in those days, when we were having the age old analog meter.

Are you using 'Synthetic' or it is Valvoline 'Mineral'.

But, now, the 'Digital Meter's' of Pulsar's are looking 'AGED', Infact they look like from 'Stone Age', when compared to other bikes beautiful and featureful Speedos.

                • Hey i've been using Valvoline for the past 4k km. I totally agree with whatever abhi has penned down except for one point that being it is better than Motul 5100 T.. Thats just because I haven't used Motul 5100 yet

But I will shortly know which one is better or if both are the same.. I just bought a can on Motul 5100 today since my 5th service time is closing in..

Any idea what needs to be changed in the 5th service... (Kitna paise chipne wala hai??)

Are you too using Valvoline Synthetic, if so, then i am not the 1st person to have used it on P180 UG4.

I am yet to go through my 5th service still 1000 kms of riding left.
But, roughly you will be charged 180-200rs for oil(if you buy from SC)+80rs for servicing labour(+-20 or more depending on work done).
so estimate may br around 300rs.

hmm.. I've already bought the oil.. Motul 5100.. so need to pay for it during service

5th service i.e. the first paid service and you say only 80 for servicing labour?? I don't think so.. Dude which oil (xxW50) costs 200rs??
In b'lore the castrol and Valvoline oil costs around 300/- and motul 5100 375/-

Then since this is the 5th service (read 9500km to 10,000km) we need to get the Front Fork oil (each side) + Front Brake Fluid changed for sure and if the brake pads are gone then they need to be replaced...
Apart from these the manual also says to change the 'Engine Air Breather Tube', 'Carb Rubber duct', 'Rear wheel rubber shock damper' and some more stuff..
May be spark plug.. but am not sure about the spark plugs..

Am sure all the above listed items is gonna cost lots of $ ya...

I am going with my services at approx. 1200kms. so, my bike has done only 6000kms till now and all 4 services are finished. Next service of mine will be in between 7000kms-7200kms. That will be my 5th service and 1st paid.
Again, i cannot understand which oil are you talking about?? How can a mineral oil cost 300rs??
The parts you have mentioned, most of them, are very cheap such as Rubber duct, rear wheel rubber shock damper, engine air breather tube. so, by my thought, the bill should'nt be crossing 500-600rs.

But, please don't curse me if you get a slightly higher amount.

BTW, tell me how did you managed to clock 10000kms in just a half year.

If I am getting right, then Valvoline is a FS oil,

Dude dont switch between FS and SS very frequently, Just my advise

10K service kit which consists of fork oil and other parts costs around Rs 800

hmm.. Interval of 1200km is a little too early for service.. But not a prob..

I've not used a lot of variety of engine oil.. Only Castrol, Valvoline and Motul and non of these comes for lesser 300/-

Yep so 500/- for these then I've bought Motul 5100 for 375/- plus servicing charges (total will go more than 875/-)
