Guys help me...Its very hard to find reserve point...
When I have very little amount of petrol above reserve and riding constantly at 60 bike starves for fuel sometimes...so I switch to reserve at that time but I have found that if I switch back to main fuel bike runs for another 20 - 30 kms happily
      advice plz

and adding to that, the bike was running strain free and it never sounded like running out of breath.

          Thanks. will get it checked.
P180 is definitely one of the most reliable machines out of the Bajaj stable.
          I have covered 30000kms without a glitch.

Last week, had gone on a ride to pushkar. Coming back, I did a non stop Jaipur to Delhi in 3hrs 10min... constantly over 85, and going upto 121 sometimes... but generally 85 to 100 ... no probs whatsoever ..

                  Which oil are you using?????

++ Buy Anabond from car auto parts shop and apply it yourself on the affected area. It will solve the problem.

i felt the lack of torque in this ver of p180.. with a pillion the power out this bike produces is'nt anythin better than a 100 cc bike...

Initial acceleration sucks.. and i takes more than 20 sec to reach 100kmph...

mileage is not better than 35 kmpl... it has completed 1st servicing.. n i m not able to decide whts wrong

Abhi Bhai.. tension is liye hai coz at any point of time bike is not coming to reserve but still showing low fuel bar(1-2) it might be a case person using reserve fuel being in main condition, this may disappoint a person if he is on some important way and bike get dried up he he and person like me dont want to be in any panic situation.

Anyway i m thinking this time. let the oil get completely utilized will not top up the bike untill and unless bike resist to move further & demands movement to reserve nob

I understand your situation bro, if you ride with a pillion on any bike say p220 or A180 or any other higher end bikes you will for sure feel the diff in torque & then by acceleration & then by handling & then by pickup etc.... even i have faced too in many cases, but believe me i never felt that its match to any 100 cc torque bike, no offense to you but i m very much convinced with the affects by Pillion, its basicaly upto the rider & as how he extract the maximum power per gear shift.. do look at your driving style may be you would be revving very hard and gear shifting would not be appropriate, regarding mileage, you will be getting more than 35 kmpl for sure but get it serviced properly or get your carb tuned. it might be running at rich, hope so u will find any thing appropriate/useful out of this. else its not the end, you may at anypoint of time get you newbie exchanged & buy A 180 . not a bad deal actually..

Second problem is ..engine heats up like hell with pillion.. i understand this fact tht bangalore traffic is pathetic and i have to pull clutch and apply brakes lot of times... But its heating too much i guess..jus not normal..

I always fill petrol from BP bunks.. and maintain speed of 60-65 most of the times.. but it has never return more thn 35 kmpl to me...

                              Thanks brother,

Brother dont even bother to change the engine Oil poured by SVC guy till your second service done, after that say when you done 1000-1500 + and keen to change the oil, get it changed with 20W50 grade recommended oil for p180, u may use valvoline 4T or Motul , dont worry now, but whenever you visit SC do mind to ask which Oil are they pouring in, which grade. try to be more quantative and ask so many confusions or questions you have, let them mind you.. as after all you are going to drive your beast & take care of her not them. it is very best practise if person can get the oil changed in front of self, so u may try this in ur second service centre,
Regarding Castrol, I guess its good oil to be used but i personaly not recommend it as i dont find the grade same as recommended, also its best for high end machines..
But cant sure if it can serve you much better than other too. (u never know) ..

First of all, I want to convey is that your bike will never run out of fuel if it is in 'main' knob position, it will husstle to move and then you would be shifting to 'reserve' knob position. so, there is no point that you will run-out of fuel in 'main' position

Try it and you will know.

                                Hi,
The machine is a bit less on torque; its true. And coming to the 2nd point, brother you have only ridden the bike for 1200kms so it will take time for you to adjust according to your bike capabilities. Try to understand "What your bike needs from you??" i mean to say that try to get a feel of the engine, find out at which RPM the bike is running husstle free and that's it you and your bike will soon get satisfied with each other's performance.
                                Mileage issue:
"It depends on your riding style, even if you ride sanely at speeds of 40-50kmph then too you might get low mileage because alot depends on how you reach a particular speed??. If you reach say 60kmph with very sane twist of wrist then you will get more mileage then, when, you will get to 60kmph by ripping your bike."

BTW, I am getting mileage figures(P180 UG4) between 48-52kmpl and my bike has not gone below 48kmpl mark in the 6000kms.

Stick to SC oil till 2nd service, At 3rd service you can go for oil of your choice.
SC guys use Mineral oil and it serves its purpose very well for city rides and little touring.
