    Most probably it's gasket issue. Ask the svc guys to replace the gaskets for the right side crank case. Shift at lower rpm(around 5-5.5k) for first two gears to ensure minimal wear on the engine.

            It gives way more space to place your fingers to clean the rear panel and it is more tactile moving the motorcycle around when stationery.

            And most of all it looks kool and different , but do remember if you have old model like mine with silver grab rails do get it painted to black.

            One more advantage is the pillion gets better comfort holding on.

              It took me 4 years to buy my dream ride in 2009 and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

              for p180 i save 25k in 4yr(it was hard to save money at skul and cllg days 😂&#128514 and gave it to my dad and begged for 180 finally brought it on June 2009

                Actually it was my dream bike and not at the same time, I fell in love with the original 180 I think it was the version 2 or UG 2 or I guess it was the first ever 180, but I didn't have licence then.
                then came in the pulsar 200 dtsi which my brother bought and by the time I joined college and convinced my dad to buy me one it was phased out, finally came the Pulsar 180 UG 4 fell in love and brought it home.

                Back then I was warned that it will give you low mileage and will be burden for a college kid add to that the regular maintenance, but through out the time I spent with her all the cost I incurred was engine oil and break pads, with a steady mileage of 50 Kmpl even when doing cruising speed of 80 or 90 kmph the mileage dropped to 48 Kmpl.

                The highest service cost I ever paid was 2000 approx, which Included chain set and engine seal and rear break set too....!!! to give a comparison honda twister engine seal costs 2200.

                  Same story bro fear the black 180 [emoji6] and p200 was a looker that time and 180 ug4 resembles p200 and "i was like shut up and take my money"[emoji16]
                  Mine highest service cost was 5500 because i forget to change my dtsi oil at 3k interval n ripped my bike 6to7k KM on 1 month 😒 so my block piston and clutch plate was replaced around 72k km
                  Any way enjoy ur nw ride and take care of her like its ur baby [emoji8]

                      Did another servicing at 25.4k odo reading.

                      1. changed the oil with 5100
                      2. new rear brake liner and also some grooving to drum.
                      3. new air filter. Spark plugs cleaning etc.
                      4. wash (first wash in many months. I like to keep my bike dirty, it makes it secure)
                      5. carb spray
                      6. new fuel pipe

                          You should go in for moto 4 gold 20w50. You will love this engine oil which is good for all seasons. Changing interval is 2000 km. Price for the 1 ltr is 250 rs

                            My brother destroyed our 200 dtsi similar way by forgetting to change the famous bajaj oil and our service cost was 12k, I have so many bros that we keep exchanging and using each other rides and luckily one of my brother bought my 180, so I still do see her occasionally.

                            Still waiting for my RC390 15 more days.
                            I wish you the best of luck for the upcoming ktm. Changing from pulsar to ktm will definitely a very big leap. Trust me I have driven this bike and really she is a devil on the road. Very fast super fast in comparison to our favourite bike.
                            More over you will miss 180 I am sure.

                                72 for air filter
                                had to buy pedilite zorrik bottle Rs. 60
                                brake pads Rs. 120 (same as OEM except for bajaj packaging)

                                I don't wash/clean bike that often. There is no rust anywhere on the bike. However it has a lot of scratches as I keep a lot of stuff on bike's tank.
