Besides that how many people in general use change oil periodically?. Atleast how many take it to SVC for servicing the rides after free services are over? Only a very few do that. General users don't even know what are the engine oil grades used.

I will give an example : Karizma used to be recommended to fill 20w 40 oil earlier. Now 2011 model karizma is recommended with 10w 30 oil. The reason is nobody bothers to idle the bike with 20w 40 they just start and rev the bike and just go. General users doesn't give too much consideration to all these things. And majority users are regular commuters and only a few do long trips. Engineers try to provide the best option that fits the general users .
Hehe, here people only think about an oil chance after a seize. They blindly believe the brand's. Example.

Me@Gulf Outlet Conversing with the shop guy.

    Me - Anna,Gulf Pride 20W40.

Annan - Mone, want expensive or cheap.

Me - ???, Whats the difference

Annan - After showing me Gulf Pride 4T and Gulf Pride 4T Plus, says, Mone, the silver one will last only 5000Kms, but the black one is superb lasts 10000Kms.

    Me - Really???

Annan - Yeah, I'm using it for the past 7000 something kilometers on my bike(CD Dawn).

      @punarvasu,
Thanks for pointing out my error. I should'nt have used that term, cause it gives a contradicting meaning to the reader.
you are not totally correct but its ok we shouldn't discuss it here.

        • servicing

My cbz Xtreme just completed 350 kms, giving a poor milage of 30~35 (city n high way)
i m planning to service it before 400

can i do the service for free?

          should i wait till 500?

          main question is

should I approch the big showroom service center (Diya motors Kollam) from where i bought my cbz, which is 40kms far
or a near by(3kms) herohonda dealer?

what should i say to improve my milage.

which service center will be better if i am getting such a low milage after first service?

one of my friends said the mechanic at near by service center is better than diya's

          ------------------------------------------
idle rpm is 1200 on start but goes 2000+ after a ride
clutch play is very high, starts moving only on fully loosed state
          ------------------------------------------

i notized some oil spills on rear wheel and near the rear right shocks after
a 50k+ ride, dont know wher it comes from, rear disk or rear shock?
ride was through a bumpy road

          Thanks, PLease reply

You can get your bike serviced at any authorized service center be sure its authorized by Hero or else your warranty will become void. You can do your service anytime . Its your choice. But follow the recommendation in the manual.

Poor economy : Your bike is still in the run-in period but 30 - 35 kmpl seems to be too low for a 150 cc. Can you explain your riding style? and are you following a proper run-in method ?

And oil stains on the rear wheel alloy don't worry its the oil coming from the drive chain . It happens when you ride continuously . Happens to me all the time.

And complaint to the SVC for low economy they will rectify it ( hope so )

            • Guys, please help me out... Can anybody please post a picture of the AFR screw for CBZ Xtreme? I'm not able to locate it, and I haven't really fiddled around with these things before... I am a long traveller... and I have to travel around 110kms daily without town drives. The people at the service station made the mixture too lean, so my bike is stuttering at times when I give throttle.

Seems good . If you are interested in self inspection just try to remove the spark plug.

If the plug is dark brown/ black - you are running very rich and thats why low economy. Take the bike to SVC to make it a leaner mixture or you can do it by yourself. Only a screw driver is needed but its safer if you take it to the SVC rather than fiddling and making it a mess. Its a delicate screw and you can't get it if it gets damaged unless you purchase a whole new carb . Costs a bomb.

New bike = more internal resistance = less mileage, wait till bike's run-in.

If you're talking about SUB dealers like Meenu Motors etc then dont.
And by far comparing the rest of the SVC's Diya motors is the best, but keep in mind, I specifically used the word, "COMPARING.".

Say nothing bro, wait till run-ins over.

idle rpm is 1200 on start but goes 2000+ after a ride

Ignore, mine when cold idle is 1000 and when hot idle goes up till 2000. Ignore it as long as the RPM needles not fluctuating when idle and doesnt stick when de-accelerating.

clutch play is very high, starts moving only on fully loosed state

Refer the instruction manual on clutch adjustment.
