but i think the problem to acceleration loss is dure to the carburetor piston valve..... this happens when the piston valve of the carb doesnt move freely...... or the diaphragm is damage inside the carb.....

Did you try cleaning -Originally posted by first_ gear View Posthello everyone,
I have got a hh hunk which is a 2007 dec model and have done around 46000 km. It has got no problem until 45k but a problem started from there onwards.
The problem is
When i open the the throttle after upshifting or down shifting there is a sudden missing of acceleration. The bike don't move for sometime but after 2 to 3 second it will be back to action . Bike has no problem during starup but after moving some distance say 4-5 kms the missing will start .I have checked the spark plug and cleaned the tanks etc but the problem still persists .My mechanic is not able to find the problem . He says the bike don't have any complaints while he is driving. The problem is that it won't occur every time while shifting.I am fed up with this bike
. Pls help me guys with your suggestions .
air filter (if it is old, suggest changing it)
carburetor
Did you get the carb tuning changed recently?

Wow CBZ, your narration took me down the memory lane of having my first CBZ last year. You got a beast home and congrats on your new rideOriginally posted by CBZ View PostHello fellow Sprinters !
This is one bike I saw and fell in love with at first sight ! Probably in my 8th std (i guess '99-2000) when I saw this beauty in flesh for the first time and I fell in love with her. The initial attraction was undoubtedly the stunning looks and rear tyre which made her look like a showstopper supermodel on the ramp. I don't recollect much about my drooling experiences, but i strongly remember it was in class 11 that I had decided - the CBZ will be my first motorcycle, NO MATTER WHAT! ..........
thought my reply is quite late, but better late than never
@others, where are you guys? It's been so long since I logged in as i was busy with my college life. Now back again and as my bike's stats goes, I have cloaked 4100km with a mileage of 48 in city conditions.
The only issue, I've is the engine becomes harsh after speeds of 50 even on 5th gear. In my last service, I asked them and they said that new bikes are arranged to have speed limited. They would do that in the third service but even after third service, I didn't see a change and the only thing they did was to change oil and clean the filter. I was shocked and asked the mechanic that their supervisor told me that they would do something to make bike's speed limitations removed but he said "Kya cheez sir? Patani aap Kahin case Saar krne ki baat toh nai karre?....I don't know but cleaning that case holding engine would hardly increase my speed and went on to find the supervisor who told me this only to find he vanished somewhere!
Since this is my first bike I am not really sure if that supervisor made me a fool or do they do something at a certain point to make bike smoother at higher speeds.
@Athul, I am also having similar issue bro, do you also find your bike not smooth or lifeless after speeds of 50? Mine squeaks so hard that it feels as if that's the maximum it can touch which is disheartening

check the clutch for reaching end of life. 1st tighten if not helping change as you tell it is 45k on odo."work for cause n not for applause". "live life 2 express n not 2 impress" ."dont strive to make ur presences noticed, just make ur absence felt".

[QUOTE=ekm-biker;844069]Possibility of clutch issue didnt come to mind as the OP has mentioned he's feeling missing. As he has mentioned this happening after downshift/upshift clutch might be slipping as you pointed out.Originally posted by first_ gear View Posthello everyone,

@first-gear
do you see increase in engine rpm whe you feel this missing? then this could be a clutch issue.

My Hunk's previous owner has mentioned he's already changed the clutch plates once, its 23k only on the odo ! But clutch life basically depends on usage, in regular city traffic, I dont think it'll last more than 30k-35k. My Splendor's clutch was changed at 50k which I was using in my village.Originally posted by abhisheklalnediya View Postwhats the average life time of our clutch plates?
also the rear tyre.

Nice clean bunk stick to it . I once filled in this bunk near guindy and i got 53KM/l in congested chennai traffic.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostHey dude same happened to me also, almost the same mileage in the starting till 3000kms
, but now i cant ride her that much constant or less then 50kmph so no point of getting good mileage
, but once I drove my bike constant on 45-50kmph and I got 61KMPL...
My front tyre needs change....i need pure grip but the tyre should last atleast for 15K ...so which one to go for guys ?
I was told to post the new spark plug pics after completing 500kms ....i think i have done close to 1000Kms now will post it tomorrow .
also will this feeler gauge be useful for the xtreme ?

Absolutely right. Proper adj.at proper time is usually not taken care of.
So hard gear shift, loss of mileage, loss of pickup etc results."work for cause n not for applause". "live life 2 express n not 2 impress" ."dont strive to make ur presences noticed, just make ur absence felt".

my bike is not smooth after 50kmph. The svc guys saying that its natural. i went to a local workshop and asked him to check the engine sound. he said the sound is coming from the bearing. and he also added that the svc guys will say its nothing just valve problems. now clocked 11400kms. going to done my last free service.
@ mastiworld. after crossing 50kmph do u feel some hard sound from the engine. at the time my engine was smooth once i crossed 90kmph very easily and no vibrations . now after crossing 65kmph i feel like i am on a pulsar and crossing 110kmph. that much sound and vibrationLast edited by ATHUL4R; 07-23-2012, 08:33 AM.sigpic

Yeah , I have this same gauge , it has 10 blades in it measuring in both imperial and metric units (inches and mm) . BUT I got it for all of Rs 30 from a shop here some years back . Works .Originally posted by sarbanoxley View Postalso will this feeler gauge be useful for the xtreme ?

The problem is getting more worser that it even shows missing when i open the throttle without shifting the gears. The kalyan hero guys cleaned the carberuator , decarbonised the head and also changed the spark plug but the missing is still there. I will ask them to check the clutch plates. Is there any chance of electrical coil failure which can alo result in missing?
[QUOTE=SatSon;844318]No i don't see any rise in RPM .The feeling would be somewhat like petrol changes from main to reserve.Originally posted by ekm-biker View Post

Electrical coil shouldn't be the reason as you face this only on up/down shifting. As you don't see rise in rpm and the feeling is kinda missing petrol supply, clutch issue can also be ruled out I think.Originally posted by first_ gear View Post

As I had posted before, what about air filter, when did you clean/change it last time?
