I still can't believe this figure...!!!! Not sure if Hero has done any changes in their new models, is it still a carburetor one?

Had a test ride of a brand new Hero Xtreme Sports.
In a nutshell: This is the worst 150cc i have ever ride.
First of all the loud tappet noise. As per the showroom all Xtreme Sports have these tappet noise. (Tappets must be kept loose for power issue i guess)
2nd of all the vibrations all over the rpm range.
3rd, the acceleration doesnt make you feel like a 15.4PS bike.
4th refinement & smoothness is half gone compared to Hero hunk/Xtreme.

Anyway there is something wrong with Hero I feel. All of their "Hero" only branded bikes specially 150CC are plagued with heavy vibrations, less acceleration and less refinement compared to earlier Hero Honda's. I guess for the 5 year warranty hero had tweaked the cylinder/engine in a way that causes these heavy vibrations all over the RPM range but gives it long life.
For example, My bike Hero hunk completed 16000kms in a single year and the Engine still feels 30-40% free & vibrations are intense.

Anyway these are just my observations. Being a Hero fan I am concerned about the existing and future products of Hero.

I haven't seen any Xtreme sports on road in Chennai yet. But I saw one in Kerala and one near to Erode while I was returning to Chennai.
But I see few new look Xtreme here and there.
Hero is also not that confident about this Xtreme sports it seems, there is no proper ad or marketing we see for this!

I live in Bangladesh and Hero's Official distributor is spending quite a lot on Xtreme Sports in terms of promotion.
We might see the end of the Legendary Hunk/Xtreme soon....i Guess

                Hello Guys,

I m thinking of fitting new Exhaust system to my hunk..

I have rode her for around 13k kms.. And i want my bike to be little louder..

Is it recommended to do so. . Will it affect the performance or the mileage..

I heard about free flow exhausts.. They dont make any difference in the performance and mileage.. My mechanic says so.. Dont know how true it is..

I have few of my friends who went ahead with leo vince and arrow exhausts.. They have pretty good firing and sound.. But they r not compatible with my hunk..

                Thanks in advance..

Hi guys, I've done 10k plus on my 2014 xtreme. The bike is all good. But the Fortpoint service centre has been charging 1500-1700 per free service citing various issues without addressing any of them. I prefer hence doing the servicing again at my local trusted mechanic. Read some people wrote warranty gets void. I've messaged hero customer service people and there's not been any reply. Hero has been pretty much ignorant. Now that it's completed 10k plus I'm left with my 4 th servicing but I don't want to do it at the service centre, rather pay and get it done from
                  my mechanic itself.

What are the merit and demerits of this ?

P.s Need some insights from someone largely experienced. Warrant doesn't matter as wear and tear is anyways not covered under the warranty. So that's almost pointless for a hero bike.
Also I have three another bikes , so please advise only if there's a clear understanding.
Please don't take offense. Sorry if I have hurt anyone.

                    Hi Rishi,

I agree with your case and service center guys take service of the bike for granted. They are in their own world and try to accumulate money.

Even the mechanics working at service center are paid very less. So even they dont care.

Get a Good mechanic in your area. Who literally has his name in the market for good servicing and get the servicing done from him standing in front of him. A good mechanic will charge only for the work he has done.. Nothing extra..

And ask the mechanic where does he gets the spare parts sourced from.. If from a genuine dealer.. Well and good..
Make a good relationship with him and with time u have a good companion for your bike's servicing.
                    Hope this helps.

My hero hunk's stock chain sprocket died today at only 15000kms.
Changed to full Unicorn chain kit obviously with 15T sprocket.

                      My short review on 15t:
I did not feel any significant drop in acceleration. Tried with pillion and still my hunk flies.
Engine feels very relaxed, smooth and acceleration has become linear.
Strongly recommended for Hunk only since it is already shorter geared compared to Xtreme (Xtreme does more speed at same rpm compared to hunk)
So theoretically hunk is shorter geared compared to Xtreme and so Hunk likes this 15t sprocket.

                      Expecting your valuable opinions.

                        Hey Hi..

Even my sprockets of Hunk have worn out a bit but will run for few more kms.. Or till monsoons. My mechanic says so.. They make little noise these days.. As if the chain is filled with dust and particles..

Clocked 13k kms.. What does 15t means.. And how do they cost? And hunk is smooth as compared to xtreme.. My personal opinion.. No pin points..

Mine lasted for 40k, that too riding with no lower chain guard for 15k kms.
Riding on new one (OE Hero - Rolon) for the last 2k kms.. My chain guard is broken at the mounting points, so riding without it now.
Recently when bike was serviced, they were mentioning that chain has started showing signs of wear!

                                Folks , I need help .

                                1. Where can I find stickers for my CBZ xtreme's tank ? The tank got scratched badly and the stickers are quite badly torn. It is an eye sore to look at my bike. I badly want to replace the sticker on the tank with new ones . I found an online seller , but I did not know how reliable he is. I have pasted the link below. Any pointers will be much appreciated. If anyone has high quality JPEG or PNG image of the same , could you please share it with me . I can get it done at local sticker shops.

                                Safe-x Motorcycle Fairings And Mudguards-

                                2. I hear lot of "KAT KAT" sounds , sometimes when I apply the rear brake , I hear a loud "KATT" sound from the brake lever . I hear light "KAT KAT" sounds from the handle bar , when I turn the handle to extreme right or extreme left side (while locking / unlocking the bike ) . Any advice ??
