Same with my bike. It always has a certain amount of break bite.

Guys..a new and bizzarre problem has arised this morning.
While moving off the bike, a 'tuk tuk' sound is heard. At first, I thot its the main stand touching something. Sounded like that, but thats not the reason.
The most annoying and confusing part is that this sound is heard only for the very 1st 3 or 4 meters while moving off. Nothing afterwards.
What the heck is this guys..?

Sounds strange.... check ur rear wheel free rotation after putting ur bike in main stand . also check ur main/side stand spring

yesterday for 2 liter petrol i got 82km. 30km in city ride and remaining in no traffic roads.
and happiest thing is every one look into my bike coz of new model and look. i was really happy about it. if i take pulsar 180 no one will look like that. By baby make me unique ( in my area)
Same is what i get from ma beast. Ma friends near here have two pulsars, but no cbzees around here... Hence i expect it to be unique as the looks are more like a hooligan ride now...

Planning to change mine at 250kms for the first time then @ 600 to 700 at first service and @1300 to 1500 where i plan to break in and finally @ 2000 on 2nd service.
Friends, need your comments to help me decide. . . can i do break in earlier or do i need to wait some more. . .?
      Thanks.

BTW, i got double disk model here for 76144 OTR with all those nominal charges like Teflon, etc. Bike still is in porch as no TP.

Not so strange.. I found to my surprise and horror its source to be the gearbox.. now the same sound but a louder one is heard while shifting down if the RPM is a bit high..

Today did a 300 km highway trip to kottayam and alappuzha. The net fuel average was 34 kmpl..
I donno wat to say or do.. am like

I changed the oil to 20W40 Yamalube a few days back. While doing it, the mechanic poured in whole 1 litre of the oil. Will that be the cause of these problems..?

How can u say its gearbox?? u wud be hearing from outside na? it doesnt mean k it has to so something with gearbox 4 sure. may be ur chain lubrication is not good for now, check it and revert.

Fuel avg depends on a lot of things. What was ur avg speed?
how is ur avg in city ridng ?
did u feel a backward drag type of thing(like engine working harder to pull) that might be due to the low tyre air pressure, get it checked if not done.

its ok dear, we all somehow get issues like this, dont be depressed or sad. Just know what the actual reason it. U r a XBHPian dude...

Thats suppoed to be Motul if i m nt wrong, i've read somewhere , it shudnt be the issue at all.
if u have checked all the above said points, go to SVC asap, let them know bout ur problem,Meanwhile keep looking in the forum for any support/suggestions.

i got it done though , 350 Rs for 3 times,(remaining to be done after 6/12 months). Looks good, bike is shining a lot, lets c how long it lasts

thats the plus point with being unique. And its sound is pretty awesome, u hardly hear it from a distance . Smooth and SexC

Depends on you,if u want your bike to have a longer/smoother life ahead, just dont rip it for now.May be 2K would be sufficient. After that you can slowly break in.. SLOOOOWLY.
Waise i have seen k koi kitna bhi rough driving karta ho, uski cbz ekdum mast chalti hai, supersmooth ...Aur bikes mei aisa nahi hota.
i personally like the previous model but this one is simply superb.

            Thanks.

Traffic rules seems to be quite strict there, here in uttarakhand i was riding almost a week with A/F on my ride, without TP

I would suggest you to give your ride a personalized look. so that its a subject of jealousy for ur frnds

            • I just felt so. From where else can it be..? As u said, the chain wasn't lubed lately. In fact, it has been months now. Chain tightness was also not checked. Should be really slack. Can it be causing this strange sound..?

Regarding mileage, speed was mostly 70-90. I'm getting < 40 kmpl for the past two weeks. Should I check the carb tuning @ SVC..?

Now, the oil. Yamalube is repacked Motul only. The thing I pointed is that the mechanic put in 1 litre instead of 900 ml required. Will the extra 100 ml be making all the trouble..?

Why 1l? drain excess oil using a syringe and tube (one using with fish tank)

Yes can be from chain .. chains are a funny noises source . Lube and correct the slack .Unlikely to be the oil .. i've used the same oil for long , it's very very good .Drain/remove/siphon off the excess and bring to correct mark on dipstick . However excess oil can't cause any noise .. i'm sure .

may b thats the reason behind all this,i dont think k its gonna b gearbox.

as said by aneesh, post a pic or your sparkplug.may be ur carb setting is altered by svc guys.

Just make sure oil level is in between MIN and MAX line of ur oil indicator rod.

1L coz Yamalube comes in 1L pack. While changing the oil, mechanic said its all fine. I think he doesn't know that only 900 ml was needed. He is basically a bullet mech. So should I really need to drain out the excess oil..?

Gulf also came in 1l pack, you have to make sure and pour the 900ml and keep the balance for topup of for lubing purposes.Yes,Drain the excess oil, excess oil is not good for engine.

i use castrol 20W40,but it differs from person to person.. basically u have to use 10W30 or 20W40.. nothing less(5W30,5W40) nothing more(20W50,10W50..).. MOTUL, ELF , Shell are various options to go for.. choose whatever u want
pulsar 150 cost this month price decreased. its only 70k and pulsar 180 costs only 73k

Yamalube . Performance is same but smoothness lasts a bit longer . Gulf was cheaper then .. but now it's got to same price ... so given a choice now personally I'd get the yamalube or motul . Moreover gulf supply is irregular in my shop . Actually the 20w40 oils are so close because they are simpler oils , very little to differentiate, so it may all be in my mind . Also take into account that I once used the gulf pride 10w30 in my splendor and didn't like it , so i'm a bit biased by experience .
