The problem being they wont let me open the pack without paying for it and the outer packing of the unit i bought looked genuine with the honda sticker/part number etc.. but there have been cases of 'local' spares being repacked in oem covers.
Only time will tell if this will hold up as well as the oem one did.. If not it will be a lesson well learnt for me.

You can see the RR unit if original packaging is transparent with a honda sticker and hologram on it. How was the packaging for the one which you bought?

Yes it had the original packing with the usual honda sticker/hologram. But inside it there was another bubble wrap in which the RR unit was packed.

I'd say stick to the 110cc model..i.e the 3G I don't own one but had taken the 125 for a short spin, and I dint feel anything significantly different on the 125.

Same old link type suspension in 3G model. Didn't want to buy it again. How about aviator?

I personally don't find anything wrong with the tried and tested old school front suspension.. remember the engines are all the same.
Friend has a aviator, busted fork seal recently.. another headache to worry about

                  Hello Everyone
I Am Looking For A New Gearless Scooter,
Will Be Using It For Usual City Running
Driving Would Be Around 50-75 kms A Week...

                  I Am Considering :
                  • Activa 125
                  • Vespa Vx
                  • Suzuki Swish
                  • Suzuki Access
                  • Activa 3G

I Previously Owned A TVS Scooty Streak Bought In 2010 Which Has Covered 25000 kms Till Now.
The Scooty Troubled Me A Lot In These 5 Years..I replaced the battery twice, got the piston rings changed twice, self start motor twice, got the cylinder overhauled once..every other day it came with new problems.Hence this time Reliability is my first priority along with durability and best after sales service.

how is the after sales service of honda compared to other brands??

Thumbs up for Aviator. Been using it for 3 years, 21k kms. No major expenses yet, looks good and rides well. A trouble free scooter.

Agree with animeher. I have the disc brake version and the stopping power is better than budget motorcycles. Good legroom, handlebars sit higher than on Activa and the new HET engine makes it a better package.

^^^ Oh yes, forgot to add that. Go for disc brake version only. The 6-7k additional cost is totally worth it, you get disc brakes + alloy wheels + front fascia in body colour.

Thanks guys. I am looking for a scooter with telescopic suspension for my father coz he had a suzuki access which does not had a disc brake @ front. So i am not so confident how he will be ok with disc brake. That is why i am looking either aviator or activa 125 standard variant.

Hi do post your query in What Bike section. You will get better response, coz this is for ownership thread for honda scooters.

As long as you do regular oil changes and basic maintenance, these scooters will not have any issues. I wouldn't recommend pushing the oil to 5000km.. replace it every 2500km, these buggers just love fresh oil in the right quantity.. that's the secret of their longevity
