After one hour, you should take rest at least for 10minutes to cool the engine. And before journey change the oil. That's all. I guess, continuous riding is not possible as body covers all the engine, so it can be heated up very much.

Me too have a question. When you start the engine by self-start, does any irregular sound come out (like ghar-ghar-ghar-ghar) unlike smooth sound it produces while running?? What is the cause behind this?

                  • @Activaboy-Dude,just do not rev the engine hard.i.e,Do not accelerate/decelerate fast and do not cross 50 Kilo-meters/Hour till you cross 1000 Kilo-meters.
Well, for fuel economy ride the vehicle in the green zone(40-50KM/H on the speedo).

Absolutely true, just as Vishwas said ride in the green zone (economy zone) for optimum fuel efficiency.

Do not rev hard, even if u do - keep them short, keep varying speeds i.e. do not ride constantly at a fixed speed and use engine braking.

P.S. I got an average of 48Kmpl on my 2001 activa by riding only in economy region

Well though the scooter is covered it has a special fan running on the side for engine cooling. While in other conventional bikes if there is no air flow the engine cannot cool itself but in our scooters the fan always keeps on running as long as the engine is turned ON. So theres a constant cooling for the engines in scooters.

NOTE:- Its just my assumption. Nothing scientific.

                          • Help with electronic flasher circuit (relay)

I am trying to MOD my activa indicators and replacing them with LEDs. Now what really happens is the indicators work fine with stock bulb, but when we connect the LEDs, they do not blink.

I searched on the net for a solution and cause, which says that LEDs consume very low current so the flasher circuit fails to operate.

Workaround is to use load resistor or electronic flasher which operate led indicators.

Can you help me if such electronic flashers are available in india and who manufacturers them.

                            Thanks in advance.
