I'm using Motul Technosynthese for a while now. Its a great lube. It comes in 20w50 grades and really keeps the engine cool in stop and go traffic. Point is you could use a high grade car engine oil too for your Dio/Activa/Aviator as the clutch is a vario type hence not immersed in oil.
Has anyone tried using a bigger carburettor on these scoots?

Hi guys,my activa feels rough while riding at 10-20km/hr,and after that its silky smooth..What might be the cause? Is it the engine oil?I don't quite like the Honda engine oil..Which is the best engine oil for activa?Apache RTR 180 2011 | Honda Activa 2010 | CBZ Xtreme 2010 (1 month) |Apache 160 FI 2009-2010

Through experience, a 20W50 grade engine oil definately works better in our climate especially in the summers and in traffic. You could also try using semi/ fully synthetic oils but the difference is marginal.
Problem is these sccots have very small pilot jets for tail pipe emissions hence the engine tends to feel lethargic runs hotter. Rejetting with a bigger pilot will improve acceleration.

After my January accident, doc said not to ride a bike for a couple of years so that the bone gets fixed & also he said to ride a weightless scoot not to give pressure to the shoulders. So i booked a Honda Dio (leaf green color) couple of days back & readying to sell my first & last city bike discover 135cc
.
The waiting period is said to be 2 months but i would be getting a month & half earlier.
I don't know how to say shifting from bike to scoot is going to digest me

Buying Experience:-
On a beautiful Sunday morning, a new sense of hope, a new feeling of desire fell upon me as that day was the day when my parents decided to book a Dio for me. It was perhaps the most joyous moment in my life as my mother called me from the nearest HMSI dealership and asked me as to which colored Dio would look good and me, with the least bit of reluctance, told “vibrant blue metallic”! As my parents came home with the Dio’s brochure, I began to fantasize about the looks of my vehicle but as my father asked me to control my emotions for another forty-five days, I began the sad part of controlling my mind! But each passing day made this part difficult as I began to call the dealership every single day! As I became more and more restless, my parents decided to talk to the manager about a possible deal to get the vehicle before it’s scheduled delivery but unfortunately, the manager said that he was helpless and the vehicle would be delivered as scheduled! As the delivery date approached, I further tried to control my fast beating heart but was unsuccessful!
On the date of delivery, i.e. on twenty-fourth of March, 2010 which incidentally was my father’s birth-day I finally got my vehicle.
Design Elements:-
The unique yet charming design coupled with the smooth yet subtle engine made me drool over it! The Vibrant Blue Metallic Dio really stood apart in the dealership and as soon as the staff showed me the controls and key features, I rode it off to my home. But this three kilometer journey kept my heart beating faster than ever as every fellow motorist seemed to be after my Dio, and as I safely navigated my Dio to my home, a sheer sense of accomplishment gathered over my heart which, by now, had started to beat normally! From that night onwards, my respect for the Dio has risen immensely.
Features:-
The Dio has been with me for over 350 days without any major niggles (Touchwood!), the vehicle has completed over 5000 kilo-meters consisting mainly of city riding and some occasional highway cruises. It is as easy as any other variomatic scooter in the city i.e. nippy and zippy throughout! The quality of the overall package is excellent even though certain plastic bits have room for improvement. The dashboard is simple and offers good visibility at all times. It has the giant Speedo-meter occupying most of the dash space and it also has the fuel-gauge, turn indicators and High-beam intensity indicator. The plastic quality is good and feels built-to-last. The responsiveness of the engine is excellent and the braking ability is also very good but unfortunately, the headlight intensity is pathetic and feels totally inadequate! The seats, however feels well cushioned and supportive. The dual-tone of the seats is also a welcome addition. The tail-light assembly is also well designed.
Practicality:-
The Dio is very practical for daily city commute and if fairly driven, one can expect a fuel efficiency of 43 Kilo-meters/Liter but if the speeds are over 60 Kilo-meters/Hour then the fuel efficiency takes a nose-dive. The suspension set-up is adequate (barely!!) but front telescopes would have been better ala Aviator and the rear suspension feels stiff hence it causes backaches during long rides. The MRF Zapper tires are very good and meet all performance parameters during the absence of rains but when ridden on wet surfaces it feels flimsy and inadequate. The engine does feel underpowered when ridden with a pillion, but hey! What more can be expected from a 102 C.C commuter tuned engine!!The service that the authorized service centers provide is excellent and is also pretty soft on the wallet! The reliability is unmatched and the engine is bullet-proof.
The engine specifications are available throughout the Internet and hence I have refrained from mentioning them.
What i like:-
Almost the entire package!!!
What I don’t like:-
1) The fuel-economy over a certain threshold speed
2) The suspension set-up
3) The head-light beam intensity
4) Excessive vibrations and rattles over 90-94 Kilo-meters/Hour
