Installing 55/60W Halogen on Activa
Hi guys,
Has anyone tried to install H4 55/60W halogen bulb in place of stock bulb on activa / dio.
Do you need any mods to the bulb holder / alternator coils or will it work without blowing up the fuses / wiring.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Can anyone have this info regarding Aviator :-
1. What is Top-Speed can be achieved if the rider weight is 95Kg ? And with 60Kg Pillion ?
2.How good is for daily commute around 25 Up 25 Down = 50 Km in dense traffic with normal most of the time/ path-hole during monsoon road condition ?
3.How good is the Under Seat storage ? Is there any hook or something (after market fit) arrange to carry stuff/ bags in the legroom area of rider ? like bazaar bag etc etc ?
4. Can anyone compare speed/response of Aviator with 97cc Hero Honda Machine ?
5. Hope the small Head Light just for to get notice in the road, no real use for illumination/seeing the path hole compare to bike....Right ?
All I'm looking for Carry stuff under the seat as well as floor area which sadly no bike can give in India.
Please Eagerly waiting for your response.........Thank You.

honda dio problem
Hello fello dio riders i am new to the forum and seek some help from u ppl.
first of all i have a honda dio 2009 model blue colour. recently i changed few things in it.
1.Halonix halogen H5 blue - rs 100 (now light is better 50%)
2.Motul 300v 15w50 - rs 850
3.NGK iridium s.p - rs 550
4.Splitfire cable - rs 750
Now after adding all these as mentioned lighting has improved and engine is bit more revving compared to past. slight change in exhaust note which i like ad mileage has increased to 42 from 37 in city.
But my engine, back wheel and silencer gets over heated after 12- 13 km ride and i never crossed 60KMPH in those rides. I have tested thrice and found same result. if anybody can suggest a solution for this.

Can Honda Activa do a long ride?
Hello,
I have a question for the forum.
Did anyone use the Activa for a long ride? Will it be able to ride non stop for 7 hours (350Kms) @ avg of 50 km/hr?
If anyone has done this please through some light on how did the vehicle behave!RE Thunderbird Since Jan 09 onwards

Absolutely possible & its a bullet proof engine. But I don't think it will be continous because you'll atleast need a fuel break. So count those times for non continous rides.Originally posted by Lonely Rider View PostWill it be able to ride non stop for 7 hours (350Kms) @ avg of 50 km/hr?
I did 196 Kms on the second day of purchase; ofcourse it was for break in & I didn't do it continous.Originally posted by Lonely Rider View PostIf anyone has done this please through some light on how did the vehicle behave!
Next I did for about 120 Kms with pillion & a great ripping ride (read speeds in excess of 70 Kmph most of the time)Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Its not a dumb question, I considered it as just being cautious.
Go ahead & enjoy your trip. Just remember to keep riding in steady speeds & you may even want to cruise in 60 Kmph; Activa will do it without any complaints.
Do a regular servicing with HMSI ASC, tell them the purpose before hand & make about a 100 kms ride within city before you make the actual trip.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Infact Activa is my better half's and did a short rides of approx 100 km in a day without issues.
It has been serviced regularly with Honda ASC and returning a good FE as well.
Was planning for a ride to Mangalore (350 km) for a 3 day trip in activa.
Thanks for your valuable reply.RE Thunderbird Since Jan 09 onwards

Anti-rust Under body Coating
Today took my activa for service. I have taken APSP (Annual paid service). They introduced a new treatment for vehicles "under body coating".
I dont know if anyone has tried it but i asked them to do the treatment and hopefully should be worth Rs.500/- they charged.
This is applied under the front fender, the main body and footrest areas.
They say it lasts for 2 years, lets hope it does.
This is different from "coating" that they do, which also has an annual contract @ rs.450 where u get 5 coatings done.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

I rode an average of 100(legit) kms a day for the last 3 years(6 days a week to and fro college)
covering about 40000kms while my Dio will be 5 years old this June 15th and has totally logged over 45k till now
Never kept the Dio below 40km/hr in the city(not always crowded unless its weekend) or in the highway(usually avg at 60+ and the 40000kms i logged was all on the highway)
Still managed to return 48-50 on highway and 43-45 in city
So far i just had to decarbonize for 450bucks two days ago... and change the transmission belt(500/-) 3 months ago
Apart from clutch overhaulings and suspension greasings the scooter is in good condition..
Going to sell it this month end and will be buying a CBR250R
As much as i am attached to my Dio... i dont want to sell it but i know all good things must come to an end
My longest trip was 320 kms in a total of 6.5 hours from Mangalore to Murudeshwar and Back
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

New Tyre for Activa
Yesterday i replaced my stock tyre (rear) after using it for 8 years (activa is 2001 model).
Got MRF make tyre , same as the one that is installed as stock.
Cost Rs. 1250/- at baroda.
Activa feels more flickable with the new tyre
.
Asked them if tubeless is available, but they said old model wont accept tubeless as we need to change the rim too.

I have used my dio for >350kms rides(both way) quite a few times, in all sorts of weather. Last summer I went on such a ride when the temperature for the day was around 35C, most of the ride i cruised at 80-85kmph, just to see if it overheated, full throttle on straight stretches, also while climbing ghats, not a single problem. I have driven it through water deep enough to almost cover the exhaust, it still did not cease. Now its >21k kms , in a year and half, no issues...Originally posted by Lonely Rider View PostHello,
