    Hey guys ,Can anyone share the list of parts/things to be changed if an activa has done 55000kms and nothing has been ever replaced/changed on it (except oil,filter) .
    And yes ,it is working fine ,no complaints (just needs two kicks in morning as temp has dropped) .

      Forgot to mention, after interchanging I didn't inflate/deflate tyres to specific psi. It had some part to play in the wobbling.

      Guess what, while surfing through old photos I found GS150R rear brake shoes are from ASK as well

      Update on 23Nov2104: Today replaced tyres on my friend's Rx135 & happen to notice brake shoes on both wheels, ASK !!!

        For one, get the entire drive mechanism inspected (i.e. open up the LHS case)
        I'd advice you to replace the drive belt, variator rollers, clutch shoes and the small springs that hold the clutch shoes. Replace the spark plug too if it hasn't been replaced in more than 14k km (normally it can hold up much longer, but safer to change it periodically)
        Also get the valve clearances set correctly..this i find makes a noticeable difference in how the scoot behaves.
        [MENTION=36366]SparKot[/MENTION] - yeh man, looks like ASK is oem to many manufacturers for the drum brake shoes. But their aftermarket equivalent costs much lesser.. I leave it up to the individual to decide what he wants to use.

            If you are getting the work done at the svc, then i don't think you have a choice but to buy it from them.
            The svc generally charge 10-14% taxes, while if you buy the same oem spares at a local spares dealer you would get around 10% discount. The overall difference will be around 15-20%. So if you are spending lets say 2000rs at the svc, the same work can be done outside for like 1600. Also the labor charges would be higher (although the parts i mentioned can be replaced in less than 30 mins, the asc i suspect will charge you at least 200-300rs in labor.)
            Use only oem parts for the drive belt, variator rollers and clutch shoe set.

                Hello guys Booked a white activa dlx yesterday and expected delivery is around first week of December.Looking forward to your expert views and guidance.Anything specific I need to check in P.D.I ?Also I'm not sure I'll be getting tubeless zappers or the regular one with tuffup tube ...

                  Guys I have a doubt, is it possible to siphon fuel from scooters?
                  I'm planning to get a new bike/scooter. My dad owned a pulsar 150 dtsi 2004 model and when he parked it , some idiot siphoned almost 2 liters of fuel from it,similar incident happed to my friends too. So if scooters are immune to siphoning easily then I can consider buying one.

                    I think the current models are all tubeless. If its a tubeless tire, the same will be mentioned on the tire itself.
                    There will be a pdi checklist (either on the owners manual or in their service/delivery manual), ask them to follow it in your presence . Give it a visual inspection and then just start the engine and check for any weird noises and the electricals. check the oil level and finally make sure you've got all the documents from them like the owners manual/insurance/reg/tool kit/first aid kit..

                    now, this is the first time i am seeing someone who is basing their decision to buy a scooter or bike on fuel theft !
                    The answer to your question: it is not as easy to steal fuel from a scooter when compared to a bike.

                      I'm a student and I have very limited pocket money and my parents agreed to buy me a bike on one condition that I have to fill petrol with the money I have, I've zeroed in on the Jupiter(for scooter) and Honda dream yuga(for bike),I'm fine either way, taking a scooter or a bike. So for deciding, the last condition was this.
                      If I were to loose fuel through theft, my whole monthly budget would be sabotaged.
                      Hope you can understand my situation.

                        Its difficult to pilfer the seat lock on scooters (difficult mind you, not impossible) but the risk is higher with scooters with easy under fairing acess. So get a scooter which doesn't have much easily accessible space under the rear fairing. My suggestion, go for hero maestro. I have personal experience with this scooter of 1 year and 2months odd and it doesn't break down easily and returns an fe of 48-50kmpl in the city.
                        The dream Yuga will have great fe (friend is getting about 75kmpl with harsh riding) but your problem of fuel pilfering will be greatly increased. Go for glamour fi to eradicate the problem all together. No fi bike I know off has an exposed fuel line or petrol cork.

                            Pilfering the seat lock is hard,on most scooters I've noticed a black tube coming from a small black box, to the engine. The box is on the left side of the scooter just above the engine. Is that tube the fuel line?

                              Set 0.14mm for both inlet and exhaust valves. Go some few pages back on this thread. you will find detailed owners manual.

                                no, that is not the fuel pipe. that is a vent pipe. the other end of it is open and goes in the air filter box on the older activa's dio's..
                                close your eyes and get the dream yuga and put on a petcock lock (which minimizes the risk of theft). the yuga's fuel eco will be more pocket friendly to your needs.

                                nope, i dont. but i remember posting a parts manual of the dio (uk model, called the scv lead) on this thread. 99% of parts are same except for the carb/airfilter.
