Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
probably yes, get the clutch removed and checked. If you haven't replaced the clutch shoes, springs(big and small ones) in these 55k km , then its time you replaced them. Also the variator rollers and clutch bell to be inspected and replaced if necessary. and hopefully the drive belt is in good condition (again, replace it if its not replaced in over 30k km)Originally posted by ron007 View Postcan you plez help me. m riding a 2006 model dio . it crossed 55k km n m facing problm with acceleration . it goes smooth till 25 km/h n after that till 50km/h i really face a issue. it seems like dull. no torque at all. is this problm related to clutch disk ????????
There is video showing the full clutch inspection a few pages back.. pl watch it.
Apart from these I assume its decently maintained with regular oil changes (engine and gearbox) and service.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Hi guys,My new dio is 800kms old now, having a strange issue, engine gets off while i am in traffic or sometimes during rides, that too very rarely. Any guess whats wrong? dust in petrol? Also thinking of adding a Petrol Filter,What say?

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
I'm guessing that it's the air-fuel ratio being 'rich'.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostHi guys,My new dio is 800kms old now, having a strange issue, engine gets off while i am in traffic or sometimes during rides, that too very rarely. Any guess whats wrong?
For a short term fix, increase the idle rpm.
Don't bother.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostAlso thinking of adding a Petrol Filter,What say?
This scooter is built to run on 'less than perfect' fuel quality.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
any other symptoms before/after it shuts off ?? any cold start issueS?Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostHi guys,My new dio is 800kms old now, having a strange issue, engine gets off while i am in traffic or sometimes during rides, that too very rarely. just get a general check up done of the wiring for any lose contacts, spark plug/cap and the various hoses that connect to the carb/engine
Check the plug color, if its blackish then turn the afr screw by 1/4th turn anti clockwise and adjust idle a little so the bike idles normally.. if its whitish then clockwise by 1/4th turn.
But before you meddle with the carb , then note down the carb setting before you or anyone meddle with it.Last edited by s1d; 08-11-2014, 10:28 PM.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Cold start issue is there.i use choke in the morning and after that no issues. Lean? But no issues other than this that too very rarely. Getting avg of 40,short rides around 3-4kms a day.thats fine i think.Originally posted by s1d View Postany other symptoms before/after it shuts off ?? any cold start issueS?

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
AFAIK they are same as the tubed zappers. Tubeless tires have advantages!Originally posted by Arvind Sibi View PostAny opinion on the Tubeless Zappers?Failure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

Any reason to keep only 2 scooters as option?Originally posted by Mandar64 View PostHello Guys,I m going to Buy A Gearless Scooter,my choices are Honda Dio or Honda Activa.Just wanted to know which could be Best For my commute use,i have to carry luggage of 30kg maximum,so want a gearless scooter according to that,Both Dio and Activa are Good but which would suit for my Daily commute,Also the Maintenance Cost of Both would be good.Need your suggestion guys!!

Both are good scooters. Activa has 125cc option, whereas Dio is 110cc. Hassle free ownership for both scooters.
