I thought vat wasn't charged on lubricants ?! .. did the asc have ep90 oil, i mean did u see them pour it out of a container or something or was it just from their plastic squeeze bottle/small red can?
65rs for approx 120ml.. hmm so its around 520/litre ... costs half as much if you buy a branded ep90 oil.

sae90 gear oil is commonly called ep90 if its gearbox specific or just 90 gear oil in desi terminology ... EP- extreme pressure additives
SAE has diff ratings for gearbox, transmission specific grades and for engine oils (for example a 20w40 engine oil)
a 20w40 engine oil has similar viscosity to a sae 90/ep 90 gear oil
MAK Lubricants : Lubricants : Automotive Lubricants : Product Details
I use the mak spirol ep 90... 500ml=120rs mrp.

of course.. its a breeze to lean n corner on the dio (old model) , not tried on the new one though. The activa feels like a box though and doesn't inspire the confidence to lean, but the dio is like hot knife thru butter on the corners

I have tried it on old aviator and new activa and activa gives me more confidence because of wider tyres, more stability may be because of more stable chassis, suspension, also tyres of aviator doesn't give much confidence especially the front one, but i completely enjoy it although there is a limit of speed at which you can do it..

New Activa 125 is just superb. Its a must buy. No nonsense at all.
It's like love at first sight.

                      Features:
Based on aviator + activa styling.
                      Telescopic front suspension
                      Disk brake front.
                      Alloy wheels.
                      Digital analog meter.
Last but not least Honda Reliability.

I think the scooter segment has got most competition parallel to commuter segment with Honda at top.

There is also 1 query, i have read that while on a corner if you let go off the throttle your vehicle will run wide,is it also applicable on scoots, i haven't feel that while cornering..

I would like to make a rough estimate on various aspects!
Fuel : Assuming an average of 38kmpl, 77000/38 = 2026 litres of fuel ; Assuming the average cost of fuel over the years as 76, 2026x76 = Rs. 1,53,976

Oils, Air Filters, Service and Other maintenance stuff : Rs. 700 every 4000kms, Calculating it the same way as above, It sums up as Rs. 13,475

Tyres : Changed so far, 3 on the front and 6 on the rear (Excluding Stock); The same stock Zappers at the front and Pirelli SL26's at the rear. So far it's 4 Zappers and 5 Pirelli's. Zappers last for a good 20k while the Pirelli's die out at 10k. Zappers cost 2k while the Pirelli is priced at 4k. Calculating the total costs, it's Rs 30,000!

Misc : A Slight few mods, headlight replacements, Battery Replacements, Punctures etc etc @ Rs. 10,000

Summing up all these, Its Rs. 2,07,451 Just the Expenses!

Well, It's still in a good shape and running well with no issues till date!

But one thing, As you could notice from the speedo image above, the plastics and other parts of the bike have become dull and have faded badly. Here are a few pics of the bike as of a week ago!

The bike might seem good when seen through the pics, but if you get a closer look, you would be able to see the numerous scratches, dust, etc etc due to everyday use. (No accidents so far and hope nothing happens either!) So i decided to give it some new clothes

Day 1 : Spraying a single Red coat and Multiple Black coats on the Front upper half of the vehicle alone! (Handlebar and Headlight Assembly!) (Red Paint took a lot of time to dry up) The stock stickers weren't removed from the vehicle as it was very tough in trying to remove them. The Stickers were visible as of now due to the Single layer Red Spray coat! 2 Red and 1 Black Bottle!

These sprays are availble at a cost of Rs 90 - 100 and not more! See to it that i've just left the red and black to stay matte and haven't applied a "clear" coating, which would improve its resistance to damage but would give it a glossy feel (which i didnt want). You can also opt for High quality Nippon Sprays which are available at Rs. 200 each! Been a week and the bike's been through heavy rain, as seen in the final pic and scorching sun, needless to say... All are intact so far!
