Sorry for keeping you waiting..Originally posted by RAK View PostIf you read the complete post then this is not misinformation but misunderstanding from your end. Why do you think tyre companies recommend ideal pressure and why do they mention temperature conditions?
Waiting for your answer.
I will try to clear your misunderstandings first
Firstly, when you said air expands in cold conditions, that is just purely wrong info.
Secondly, if you think in winter you need to keep the tire pressure lower than in summer, you are again wrong with that, sadly
You might want to have a look here. They have explained in a very simplistic way.
Drivers.com: Myths abound on correct tire inflation

Hi guys,
I am a new member to xBHP, although i have been following these forums religiously over the past 3 months, when i decided to buy a new bike.... Booked a lava-red FZ almost a month ago, and hopefully will get delivery tomorrow (why is it that the last 24 hrs are the longest???
) Anyways I wanted to thank everyone for the amount of info and help poured out over these forums, which have been of invaluable help to me (and i'm sure a lot of others too) in choosing our machines....
Cheers

The bike generally doesn't blow it's fuse just gives up ...
...
I meant just get a second opinion thats all was not recomending Orion. Altough I ve been getting both my babies serviced there and am very satisfied with their work.. And about the fuse issue I did nt realise you had a headlamp mod! Hmmm Guess you just need a more powerful battery..I for one am very afraid to play with the stock electricals of a bike!"I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine. Ok now I think I gotta interveneOriginally posted by fuzzy16 View PostSorry for keeping you waiting..

Firstly, when you said air expands in cold conditions, that is just purely wrong info.
... Dude I asked to read the entire quote , well let me re-phrase , concentrate on it ...
What @RAK said is If you fill extra air on a cold tyre , i.e more than the reco'ed pressure , then as the bike runs a bit and the tyres get hot the air will expand , he has NO-where stated that air expands in cold conditions ...
Please excuse the double post guys ...People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

I am hoping you checked the link that I posted earlier..In reality we actually need to put in more air in cold conditions in comparison to normal conditions. Suggesting that filling in extra air pressure in cold condition is not good, is just another myth.Originally posted by nand15 View PostOk now I think I gotta intervene

^^ I have tried Yamaha Factory Shop (Wakdewadi) and Gurunanak Auto Lounge (Kasarwadi). Both are great with service (personal opinion) but you have to explain any problem etc to them very clearly first, and walk away only after confirming the exact problem is acknowledged. Worked for me for nearly 2 years.

Bro I have gone through that and no-where does it say that you need to fill in more than the recommended air pressure in any condition ... and I quote ,Originally posted by fuzzy16 View PostI am hoping you checked the link that I posted earlier..In reality we actually need to put in more air in cold conditions in comparison to normal conditions. "In fact, tire pressure usually lowers itself in winter and raises itself in summer-it requires no action on the part of the motorist apart from keeping the pressure at the level recommended on the sticker"
This is what the recommended pressure sticker is for right ?

you are right but did u seethat earlier 2008 models used to come with 35 psi sticker for rear tire.now they changed it to 33psi & for which many Fz got rear rim bend.I think that none from the 2008 batch reported for rear tire rim bend.Originally posted by nand15 View PostBro I have gone through that and no-where does it say that you need to fill in more than the recommended air pressure in any condition ... and I quote ,
