Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi guys..... we all know how powerful Fazer's horn is.....i had done the mod of illuminating both the headlights of my fazer. i dint notice any issues before. but recently i have noticed that when i illuminate both headlamps (low... not high)...i am experiencing a reduction in sound of the horn. Its sounds very weak which indicates the battery (stock ) is not able to support the load. what do i need to do??
i have read people installing Projectors, HID lamps angel eyes etc on stock battery and facing zero issues. please help.
Also another query,
i used System G as recommended in the bottle. the engine is now breathing smoothly and acceleration hiccups have reduced drastically (+ my afr setting is 3 full turns from least point). but the thing is sound of the engine is beefy....i mean thump has increased......is it matter of concern??

Bro, can you post a pic of the headlight? Also, any changes to be made in the stock electrical settings? I want to get it done, but have no clue how to do it.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostEngine is fine.dont worry about that.

buddy taking a pic is not possible due to the fairing.....but i remember what that mechanic did......the headlight has 3 pins it will be like a tripod.... he said one of the pin is for lower beam one for higher beam and one for main power source.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostBro, can you post a pic of the headlight? Cheerz!!
one headlight has connection for lower beam pin and other pin is left unconnected. Same for other headlight for higher beam. He just splitted the higher beam wire from higher beam headlight and connected to lower beam headlight's unconnected higher beam pin. same for lower beam..
my headlight now illuminates for lower as well as higher beam. you need to remove the bulbs from socket and try this. matter of 10 mins... 100 rs max....only labour charge and nothng elseLast edited by vimal_hbk; 05-16-2013, 04:00 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi Guys
Tomorrow I am getting my first bike : The Red Stallion (Fz-16) home. I was quoted 81K with all accessories.
Let me start by asking a few questions:
1) What all should I check for?
2) I am still very new to driving, but got the basics. So I wanna know how well is it with newbies?
3) Sales guys said to only expect 40Kmpl. Not less, not more.. Is the real figure 40? Because if that is so it will be sufficient!
Need you to help me out with these. I would be glad if you could.

Check for the working of all electricals (headlight, tail-light, indicators, both brake lights, console light, horn).
Check for any scratches over the body, fuel tank, side panels, rear panels, exhaust.
Dont worry about you being a newbie. This bike will surely delight you.
40kmpl?? Well, its just a number and varies with people. I get 40+.
Do follow the Run-In period religiously. It will help you in the long term.
Have a great time with the bike. Do post pics of your new ride.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Keep the run-in period till 1000kms. Till 500kms, vary the speed in between 40-50. Above 500kms, vary the speed in between 50-60.Originally posted by Sri Teja Prabhala View PostThanks a lot dude.

During run-in period, always vary the speed and never ride at constant speed. Also, if possible, avoid pillion ride during this period.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
if the SVC guys can't sell original products.. then i think we won't be getting one anywhere..Originally posted by koushik_man View PostPlease don't misunderstand me, but, I have seen the local products are getting packed in Bajaj Original Spare Parts packs, just as mentioned by you in the above for original Yamaha products. This means that even if the packs are original, that doesn't mean the product inside it is also original. Hope you understand the point

they are our best shots..

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Never, except once in the very beginning, when the water level had gone to the minimum level. It was a really long 90kms ride through pothole filled roads with constant headlights on for 3 hours, constant pressing of clutch with speeds below 50..when i pressed the horn, the lights dimmed a bit.Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postso u havent faced any degradation in the horn??? while both the lights are illuminated ??

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hey guys,
I'm interested in an exhaust modification ; can I get just the FFE from Joel's RC kit? Or should I go for brands like LeoVince or Yoshimura? Or the Daytona kit from Yamaha itself?
Should I make any other changes along with the exhaust? I'm not particularly interested in engine modification, which is why I'm not going for the big bore kit.
What changes in performance can I expect? Thank you.
