As a start, you can go with a Free Flow Exhaust with proper upjetting and an Air-Filter..
for FFE, you can go with Leo Vince exhausts.. And if you don't want to go with K&N, you can try pipe-cross air filters (i myself don't know much about them)
only changing the air filter won't help you much apart from changing the sound.. But a FFe would surely help in better performance of your bike..

You can try UNI, I am a satisfied user for the past ~15K kms, no upjetting required but your mechanic must be experienced. A tad bit cheaper than K&N and easy to maintain because it's foam type and hence cleaning isn't much of an issue. Better FE and slightest (mind you, slightest) bump in power. A decent growling sound. But I lost a bit on high-end, I dunno about other after-market filter user. Overall, I see no harm in installing it. Also consider GREEN (upjetting required), Pipercross (bit costly), BMC (not sure).

This week seems to be bad for me. Got rear ended while I was parked on the side still on the bike. 2 bikers met with an accident and one of them rear ended me and I fell along with bike.

Damages:
Broken front break lever
Exhaust scratches.

How much would be the cost of brake lever ?
and how to check if there are bends in the fork or handlebar. Anyother parts to be checked for damage?

-Brake lever won't cost more than 150~200 bucks.
-Sit on your saddle and visually check for handle alignment.
-Take her out for a spin and you'll know if the fork needs tightening.
-Check for differences visually, especially where there was impact.

i was looking to get a bassy type of sound.. But i guess changing the air-filter also needs jetting n all.. I don't wanna go for all that headace at present..

Hi All.. Can anyone please help me with this.. After 3rd free service my bike's mileage came down by 5-6 kmpl.. previously i used to get 38-39 kmpl but after the service i only get 33.. Its been three weeks since i gave the bike for service.. after the service had filled my tank completely and found change in mileage and now had to see the exact figure and that is the result.. Please let me know what could be the reason ? and also i feel like the engine is not free as it was and also it vibrates little more and all these after service only.. Please help me.. thanks in advance.. Waiting for your valuable replies..

Ya, i had done all that. The knowledge has been looked into.. I had also taked to psr ji about this few days back.. But this all requires time to check and use different jets and stay with the one best suited for the bike.. Presently i don't have the luxary of time to do all this.. Not till march.. So maybe after that..

Well i also get mileage in the 30-35 range..
if your mileage has decreased after the service, the mech might have changed the fuel settings.. Check the spark plug for rich mixture..
use synthetic oil if you want a free engine.. Mineral oil start holding it back after only a few humdred kms after service..

Mileage does change. It either increases or decreases just after the service. Fill up again and check the average. If things dont change, go to the SVC. When was your last oil change??

I now have got yamaha ybx too on my garage and i am having some problems with it.Hope i am not breaking forums rule and hope you will help me.I couldnt find ybx forum so i am posting here.

It was left unused for about a month and then i got it .I cleaned it properly and pulled chock and started kicking.It came on life just with two kicks and started roling.Acceleration was ok but engine started to cry just after i crossed 40 kmpl.I thought clutch plate was wornout so went to a service center changed clutch plate and engine oil(mineral yamalube 20 w 40) and did tappet setting.Carburator was leaking so had it opened and cleaned.The mechanic opened throttle on nutral and white smoke started to come.He said engine needs to be opend in near future but it is still good to ride .

But after clautch and oil change bike has got even worse.On first gear it feels likes as if i am carrying heavy load and just pulls really slow w but on other gear it is ok.
Above 40 kmph engine starts crying.
Now after around 10 days it has another problem.It refuses to start but it starts after pulling abd rejoing the cable connected to spark plug.During normal ride it does not throw smoke and i havent opened throttle like the way mechanic did.
Please help me.Do i need engine rebuilt?
