How is the Osram night breaker working? There were some discussions saying that fitting a high intensity bulb would fade the reflectors/ make them yellowish.

    Please share your experience.

    Thanks.
NightBreaker is working Just great. It solved my FZ light problem fully. I don't think it will fade Reflectors. Infact i have read that Nightbreaker bulb is much cooler than stock bulb. The kind of illumination Nightbreaker gives is just amazing. Will try to get photos of same sometime.

I have tried all these technique of adjusting headlight angle up and down. But it wont make much difference.

many ppl got their FZ with the head lamp facing upwards....its very easy to adjust.
get the size 10 spanner and there is a nut on the left side of the bike near the head lamp...loosen it and adjust you headlight...tight it voila!

      Thnx guys for the tips.....

How does it not make a difference?? the illlumination is perfect except for the part that the head light is a bit too high on the horizon...adjusting the beam should provide much better road visibility....
If not please elaborate on why the lack of effectivity of this adjustment???

When the headlight is made to face down. It will work fine in heavy traffic where you cannot go more than 40 kmph. Suppose in empty road you are riding at 70-80 kmph, the illumination radius will be insufficient for you to ride safe. And if a opposite vehicle coming with high beam, you will be more blinded than in normal position.

When i got my FZ, next day i went to SVC and told him light beam is going upside i told him to adjust. He told its normal position, if you want he will bend it down. I got little improvement(not much) in slow drive, but for this adjustment it very difficult to drive in high speed. It was huge disappointment for me who used to ride RX-100 with 12v, just was feeling bad how can 20 year old bike has better illumination than this new FZ, until i found NightBreaker. Only issue what i heard of nightbreaker is life is less compared to normal one.

This is what my experience is. Light experts let me know if my analysis is correct.

Anyone using philips xtreme 55/60w? Heard this is pretty good and cheaper as well.

        • ^^ What about your high beam/low beam switch? Use high beam in highway, low beam in city? Or both beams come out almost the same in FZ?

I feel when you bend the headlight, High beam position comes to low beam and low beam further near. And i think good bulbs and illumination is normally measured how far it reaches.

Its easy to adjust the position of headlight, loosen the screw in left side and adjust. Just give a try if this works for you, if headlight is made to face down.

            • Actually, the high beam should be almost parallel to the road. It will illuminate the road at a distance. And the low beam will illuminate the ground just ahead of your motorcycle.

              • guys i have a couple of 55w h4 (50rs one ) i tried it on my bike & the heat from the bulb that came in 5sec was enough to cook tandoor chiken ,i removed it & realised that the reflectors will not have capacity for the heat ,heat from stock bulb was far less.
does the osram nb also produce high heat??

What i feel is that reflector of FZ is not so good for High beam. Osram nb just throws more light with the reflector. With stock bulb you almost feel like Low beam has better brightness than high beam.

Any guys tried to change stock reflector of FZ with something better?

                        • FE

After lot of fighting in SVC, they seem to have adjusted the FE correctly. I went to service center and told them i have been telling my FE is around 28 kmpl and you have tunned them n number of times and created the scene in Panchee svc in bangalore.

Then they took it and adjusted and told me now its adjusted. It wont return less than 35kmpl.

Now i tested twice in reserve to reserve method. Got 40 and 42 kmpl. This time they did "real Magic"

Dont feel any drop in power and pick up. Hope its not lean mix. Will watch for engine temp if everything is fine.
