Contacted the Simota dealer directly and he said it will be available in 2-3 months. One for FZ not listed in Simota site.

They are good, but unfortunately put the piston rings otherway around (it was RTR). He used to ride all the way Cochin (220km one way) to get jobs done on his bike. That says the job quality there

any battery in this world will be discharged if connected to a circuit and not charging even if it is not being used. the battery looses charge if it is not getting charged. hell even a disconnected battery looses charge....

just getyour battery chergaed from a local mech or push or jump start the bike and go for a ride of 15-20minutes.... the faster the better.... your battery will be recharged and will as good as new...
Yesterday I spent around 20 mins trying to bring my Fazer to life ,I didnt try the 2nd gear push and release method instead I put my bike on the main stand and changed the gears ,perhaps upto 4th or 5th gear and then just tried to rotate the wheel ,tried it a few times and finally it came to life.

Then I headed straight to the petrol pump just about 1km away and also got the air pressure checked ,after that when I tried the self it didnt start so again I had to shift the gear and start it .I went to nearest Yamaha service centre which was about 4 kilometres away .

I told them that I wanted to get my battery recharged so one of the mechanics came and had a look at my bike and as soon as he pressed the start button the engine came to life ,so he took the bike and came back after riding about half a kilometre and then we checked the lights and horn etc everything was OK and the horn was also loud ( normal I mean ) ,so then those guys told me it would be OK if I dont charge or else I would have to leave the battery for the day and they would charge around 40-50 rupees .

The battery had got charged because of some short running and I thought why not have some long rides to get the battery charged as well enjoy the greenery on the outskirts of the city ,so total from morning to evening I rode my bike for around 111 kilometres.

                      • !! MILEAGE !! Fazer 150cc

Today I also came to know that my Fazer has a disappointing average of 35.6 kilometres per litre.

                        Note:
Highway running mostly between 3500-4000 rpm (not more than 4000 rpm) and maximum speed touched 60km/hr ,mostly I was in the 53-58 Km/hr range.

Has this speed affected the mileage? Will running around 45-50 km/hr give more mileage?

                        • Mileage

I don't understand why Ppl are worried about the mileage on the they bikes. The day i got my FZs i was only worried about the power and how the bike will handle on the road's.Till date i have not checked my mileage every time my fuel meter starts blinking i fill up for 300...Sorry Guys am not being Rude or any thing..To my understanding the bike can be tuned for mileage but whats the point.... And can we do powder coating on the rear sprocket of bike...

About the mileage, mine gives me a decent45 to 52 on highway riding. Around 45 when in speeds of 70 to 80, 52 at speeds of around 60 and about 38 at speeds exceeding 80. I have tested all these conditions on my bike with 5 litres of petrol each time and went on a ride of about 270 km just for the fun of it. May be it is because the newer ones have lesser torque than the previous versions. And note that the mileage figures are of highway riding not city. I live in a small town now, so not much of city riding as i did before one year.

I woudn't say 35.6 is poor mileage , But for your riding speeds I would say that it's below par . Bro you didn't buy a Fazer to ride it like a splendour ( no offence to the splendour) now did ya ?

Although I would not fret over the mileage of a bike , I think it's quite acceptable to expect a reasonable power-efficiency ratio ... I mean , yes we don't expect a mileage of 50+kmpl , but is it wrong to expect atleast 35-40kmpl from the machine ? I don't think so ... Let me assume you use 300 bucks fuel per week ( hypothetical ) , IF that figure got doubled for the same power wouldn't it worry you ?

Good point there. We should be expecting atleast 45kmpl for a 150 cc machine which actually delivers a lesser power figure to the other 150cc bikes which have at least 1 bhp of diff compared to fz of fazer. Though the torque is higher than others of same displacement it is not that much of a diff when it comes to newer versions. So 45 kmpl must be the expected average for everyone who runs in properly and maintain their bikes properly. I am glad mine does not disappoint me.
