  • Thanks guys for ur information
Actually i am from Bhutan and here ppl don't use bike much so i could not get the recommended oil. thats why i used the one available here. every bike here uses the same oil that i used, that is 20w50 and they have no problem. Why only in this bike??
will the problem go, i mean will the bike start if i change back the oil to 10w30??
    thanks again guys

So well - spending 85 bucks on octane 97 is not worth the money spent on a minor improvement in lower RPM riding. But yes, the engine growls a bit more now which I kinda like
Hey where u got Octane 97 in mumbai???
i mean at which petrol pump ...is tht the one at bkc???

Congrats on your purchase Sun. You'll love your everyday commute with this bike, I'm sure. Happy riding!

In my opinion, anything above the 4th gear, unless you have an open stretch in front of you, is not necessary while city riding.

Nice to hear good things about the after sales quality improving. About the last part, were there crosswinds, or an up-gradient?

Err.... I'm not sure if the problem you are facing is due to the engine oil, but yes I think its a probable reason. Take it to your nearest ASC/competent mechanic.

I was able to do 148 on flat without crouching; 141 without crouching uphill against the wind; but certainly not strong crosswinds to push you down.

          • Front brake pad

My front brake pads are wearing out, and spares are not available in Bangalore(surprise surprise).

Can guys from other parts of India confirm to me if front brake pads are available(for the std model)?

Alternatively, if someone has found that pads of another bike work(I know Pulsar pads work for CBR rear brake) for the CBR front brakes, do let me know.

At those speeds crouching gives you startling results. Which means, touchwood, all's well with your bike now. Good to hear.

              • Gear height

Thanks everyone for the information on the height adjustment. Got it done today and my size 13 feet are a little happy. The brake side is not yet done, because the person said it would impact the brake setting. But I don't trust him since he had no idea on how to adjust the height of the gear. I was actually guiding him. I will take it to another ASC in Bangalore.

                Cheers,
                Sun

                  • Happy for you aargee

Got my bike after the 1st service & I must say the engine is feeling much smoother than before. Bike is happy to be revved.

It was fun revving the bike from a standstill over the signals, seeing everybody else drifting far off in the mirror.

Don't if you need a long life; even with 6-7K RPM no one will be able to touch the smoke!!!

oh yeah.. By revving I was speaking about 6-7k rpm itself. After riding under 4.5k rpm for a while, it feels as good as insane to ride at 7k rpm.

                          But I'm loving it

Good sir; will call you tonight; this is certainly something that I was looking forward to. But the tragic is that, I've mountains to move & have been putting some crazy hours with work.

at BPCL petrol pump BKC. Not worth the additional 14 bucks over normal petrol.
