I know some people in chennai are also getting this replacement. Is it by customer calling the ASC or ASC makes the call?Originally posted by drarchit View Postbro mine is not cracked the mechanic said that is was slightly moving from its place so they will be changing the whole part. One more question, I see the cost of paddock for C250R to be 1800 in some of the posts. But when I enquired the ASCs in chennai, i got a quote of 3500+ (highest being 3900 frm Manasarovar). Is this the right price in chennai or should I bargain? Chennai paddock owners , please suggest.Last edited by yuvm; 12-21-2011, 08:56 AM.Leave way and then accelarate ... then overtake ....

Thanks aargee. Every xbhpian is welcome to answer my queries and thanks to all of them. Also, I am having a tough time sourcing my extended warranty from Manasarovar. I got the bike in first week of oct 2011. Still they say 1 week to get all booklets every time I call them. I have fixed a final deadline for them - next Monday - though not know what to do nextOriginally posted by aargee View PostIts...

.
I did my first service at didar@tnagar. They told only the dealer who sold the vehicle can issue the xtended warranty booklet. Any one had exceptions on this.
Some time earlier, there was a wings club meet organised in Chennai. Did any of you get the membership card? I went there and left at around 4 pm. Did they issue after 4 pm?Leave way and then accelarate ... then overtake ....

Talk directly to showroom manager, no middlemen; unfortunately the owner don't know me, so I can't be of help here.Originally posted by yuvm View PostAlso, I am having a tough time sourcing my extended warranty from Manasarovar

Akrapovic sells at approximately 28k for the regular ones and 33k for the carbon fibre slip-ons. My cousin has these exhausts and i do not find much difference worth mentioning, maybe an extra bhp or so..Exhaust note betters to some extent only, considering the bike has a single cylinder. Yoshimuras are much better,if you rerally want to put some aftermarkets. Cheers!Ride Responsibly

OMG...took my vehicle yesterday to showroom, had an argument that replacements are confirmed news he then budged telling its not some scheme as such and it is part of camp process and took the vehicle .got a call by three stating that vehicle is ready so went there and saw the bike,i could not differentiate between the old and new grabrail and only noticeable thing was a rubber covering the mirror screws.the tech was not there so could not speak to him.took back the vehicle and did notice the jerks in the front especially when i slow down, really dont know wether its cone set issue or suspension problem.after seeing this post called the technician again to find out what has been changed ,he told the mirror screw, handle bar screw and grab rail has been changed.when i asked about the other parts thats been mentioned he flatly refused that this is wrong information and he has changed whatever he was informed and given by hmsi;.Originally posted by drarchit View Postyesterday got a call from ASC stating that honda is replacing some kit free of cost in all cbr's so went to the ASC today. the parts which were replaced are:
mirror holding washers and nuts so no more loose mirrors and vibrations.....
rear hand rests as there were complains of paint peeling off....
front and rear foot rests along with their holding nuts and pins....
all clips of the fairings,no vibrations now.....
handle bar holding nut and bolt...complains were that they were getting rusted...
covers for mirror bolts....
fork and bush of the suspension completely replaced so as to end the wobiness and floating effect...
all these parts were replaced freely and quickly, and i was given two papers stating that i have received updated parts and the old parts are replaced and i am satisfied. i then took the test ride of my bike and HOLY COW..these small parts have completly changed the way bike handels...now bike is more planted to the road and handling has also improved a lot this is all due to the fork and bush of the suspension.....i urge you all to go to your nearest ASC and get these parts replaced......
now how do we know what are the replacement parts sent by hmsi as each and every dealer tells different things.
dont you think hmsi should call the customers and inform regarding this.
when honda cars recalled anhc for a spring replacement i was given a call by honda siel itself and the website had the exact details of the replacement ,so why cant hmsi put the list of spares that has been despatched to the dealers .i personaly think these dealers can verywell retain these spares sent by hmsi and sell them later to us itself when we go with issues.
is there anyway we can get a confirmed news of all the spares that were sent to the dealer?????

I got call from Honda showroom that I purchased my cbr from asking me to bring in my bike for checkup and mentioned that it was mandatory as per regulation from Honda.
Now I know what to look for while I'm there. Will get this done over the weekend most probably if I can wait
Will post back my view and experience once it is done.

But only thing that's a matter of concern is 9.8S pitted against the 8.5 to 100 against all the internet reviews; may be the Thai C250R's does the sprint much faster...just a guess!!!

I might sound really stupid but shouldn't that be true since the MC41 has about a BHP of advantage over the MC42?Originally posted by aargee View PostSudeep - Superlike

Also the bike could've crossed 160 kmph mark. But the GoPro mounted on the helmet was also creating some difficulties.Sudeep P Nambiar

exhaust!!....
hey folks i went to see a race engineer yesterday for replacing the exhaust with a performance one,the dude is younger than me,and his garage had a race spec r15....looked out of shape with its stuff all over the place.
nyways
1.hes never worked on a CBR b4
2.he said he will do it for free and then if im happyi can pay if not...
3.he quoted 12k
4.he has worked on the R15 v1 & v2
but i said i need to see and HEAR his work for me to decide, coz IM LEAVING MY BABY WITH U.....AND I NEED TO KNOW IF SHE WILL BE ALRIGHT.and plus i should know tht u know wht ur doing!!....my question is wht are the draw backs..in terms of mileage and long run!!........im thinking of it....but it really suck these honda guys are not coming out with performance kits for the CBR!! like the R15s!!!!
Screw your courage to the sticking place.
