Have ridden a bike with an akrapovic exhaust. Oh boi, it sounds sweet and is fast as well but not so much over a stock bike. The bike doesn't feel very smooth though but that does not matter.

I got my oil and filter changed again (first one at 650 kms) at 1350 kms, washed the bike myself, got the fairings tightened at the service center, still facing some vibration noise at 5000 rpm. Else, the bike runs smooth

              • ^^^ There're few rubber bushes inside the fairings between the frame & inner fairing; get them replaced & you'll experience the difference. If that doesn't help tighten the bed bolts to the torque.

                • BTW, those who have fitted the rear brake pads of the P220, can anyone tell which one they fit? The older P220 brake pads or the newer P220 brake pads?

I believe the older model of the brake pads (I think this is used in the P220FI bike), is a direct fit in our bikes. Anyone can enlighten on this? The older model is more squarish I think and Rahul had posted the pics too I believe.

                  • just came back from weekend Ride to Mt.Abu . Bike performed flawless most of the time i was Cruzing @ 110-120kmph range (7k-7.5KRpm range- 6th gear ) . tyres are supper slippery even on smalles amount of gravel or on Wet roads. I had few Oh S@#$...! moments while i was leaning on corners Once even i almost had crash when bike's rear lost traction and after some efforts i managed to control and got away without any crash . And for those who think Brakes of CBR are not up to the mark :P please thing again i managed to shave off good amount of speed in one situation where a truck jumped into my lane while i was speeding almost 125-128kmph I had to brake hard and somehow managed to slow down to 45kmph within few mtrs ( or in a length of small Truck) without any drama . I have some videos also i will upload them once i get back home .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

                          • here after long time.cbr too has run hardly 1300kms since bought in month of august due to my non availability .seeing the posts regarding the replacement kit thats provided by hmsi called up surya honda to find out weather my machine needs those replacement and one shocker of reply"SIR THATS WRONG INFORMATION THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THAT".so i told that i was called by honda itself to verify from the showroom for which the reply was "COULD BE FAKE CALL ,DID THEY CALL IN ENGLISH OR TAMIL"..what can i do with these fellows .anyway told them that i ll bring my bike tomorrow morning for a regular check up.

now can i get this replacements in any other showroom ?????is there anything that tells these things are to be done by the showroom only where the machine was bought????

already apart from rusting issues its the front fork shake thats been my problem and i ve been told that fork is absolutely fine by SURYA HONDA as well as DIDAR HONDA. but i feel the jerks definitely ...CONESET FAULT????????

                            Comment

                            • ^^ Could be coneset - since its been the problem in many CBRs. Front fork I dont know, a few got it done and are happy so maybe you could try getting em realigned

And replacement Kit you can only fit in from the service centre attached to the showroom you got your bike. I got it done today and was told the same.

Anyways I got my chain replaced too. It was too loose and made weird noises despite constant cleaning and greasing. Anyone else who have got their chain replaced?

@chic: BTW..we are referencing NON-ABS model here. havent checked if the same would fit on ABS version.

                                Also...some ghetto work.
