I'm curious to know has anyome used any ECU box tuning on their bikes like powertronics or bazzaz, saw one video where the CBR's rev limiter is unlocked and he does 192kmph :0, obviously will messup ur engine but i want to tune my bike to atleast 11000rpm

I had a friend who had done powertronics on his 250.

Initial impression: Performance of the bike had gone MAD, more like KTMs fast revving but just with longer gears. The bike got good low end punch ( which cbr lacks). Riding in traffic got easier because of less gear shifting.
No such gains on the mileage side, most the time its was the same as stock or less.

      *AFTER 3 MONTHS*

Too much heating in traffic even after changing the coolant twice, maintenance of the bike had gone up as few as parts were getting damaged very frequently.

Then finally after 7 months of using powertronics his piston gave up and he had to change it and then removed the powertronic, but his bike never gave that stock feeling again ! It didn't feel like Honda anymore.( rough and alots of vibes)

His advice for people who want to get their ecu tuned or piggybacks is don't do it unless you've the resources to carry on with it and get better pistons and other things related to handle that power and vibes, Or if one is only using it for very short time (3-6 months). [emoji40] [emoji106]

At the end he sold the cbr, got a Ninja300 and then lived happily ever after. [emoji13]

Point noted, yes I know u need bigger pistons, bigger bores n a bigger sprocket to accompany that power, wat about a big bore kit? Leaving that aside, I'm sure most of you have noticed the CBR doesn't redline at 6th gear because of the detune... Its stuck between 8 and half thousand rpm and 9000rpm, I jus want it to go to 10 and half thousand in 6th gear.. That's all don't want it go above the redline, any suggestions besides the power box? I am already made my mind up to change the air filter n the exhaust system,I am jus considering and seeing the pros and cons of ECU tuning, I have the resources to make a custom sprocket,piston,bore,etc.. But obviously will do it with a lot of RnD and considerations.

I've no idea about the big bore kit haven't heard from anybody yet.
Yeah the cbr doesn't redline at 6th gear, but somehow I've managed to get it upto 167km/h (Speedo indicated) on a great stretch of road, it took sometime to get there and after 155 i felt the struggle.[emoji40]

I've personally changed my exhaust to an aftermarket one recently and the increase in torque can be felt at lower rpms and when full throttled, the bike feels like its revving faster than it would on a stock exhaust.[emoji28] I still need to check the performance with another stock cbr to see if theres any actual difference in performance. [emoji4]

Yep, i say you do your research on ECU tuning and see if its worth or not.

Ive heard u can raise the cc from 248 to 286 which is the 300r spec, not sure how true it is, will have to look into it, but yeah the wear and tear for higher tuning have to be looked into it,

Do we have a 13T or 15T front sprocket of any other bike which could be a direct fit ?

Almost most of the HONDA engines are so well made, that they can be overbored/altered/overloaded without any problems of course with the techniques and in the hands of a knowledgeable person. Most people screw up their engines because either the part they install is not to the right spec, and frequently it's the tuning part that is messed up leading to an engine that gives up soon.

Now I am not urging everyone to start modding, it's just that Honda engines are so good they can handle twice their capabilities. The name HONDA will go synonymous for any expert tuner/ricer.

                Cheers!

                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Soo I'm planning to do the tuning with a known and knowledgeable person, of course later,of course my majority of riding range is between 4000-6000rpm in the cities, only highways it empty stretches I can go high up the rev band, saw some few KTM bikes with similar mods. Also note ktm is already a highly stressed engine, I couldn't imagine the heat, the Honda on the other hand can handle itself, I guess the change of a few parts if necessary or just proper optimized tuning. I've heard there is a person in Blore who does good ECU tuning,I am from Chennai BTW.

how can i remove the excess oil? Can i insert a small tube from oil filling hole and suck excess oil out?
Posting here incase someone needs more info on how to remove excess engine oil from cbr250r

Its not possible to insert pipe into the crankcase from oil filler hole. Clutch plates are located just below that filler hole.
I visited svc and mech removed excess oil from oil drain hole located under the bike.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Both. Using correct parts with right tolerances that the bike can handle, remapping if required, so much little things to take care of, not just fit and forget. The important aspect of ricing a bike is the right parts at the right places.

Yeah. Depends on the rider [emoji12]

Btw on my first track day me on cbr and my friend on his ninja 250 had similar timings. And my best lap timing was better than his.

On a lighter note, this was done on an international forum. Pretty chic if you ask me, except the speedo holder, could have painted that in black, but nonetheless looks like a clean job.

Powdercoat those wheels to black, and a Leo Vince slip on and boy, that should be a uber-lively motorcycle.
