re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
mayukh92 : IMHO, tubeless are any day better than tubed ones. but to have a better return on investments, its advisable to fit tubeless ones after ur current ones get worn out. as for other mods, fitting angel / devil eyes, HID's, better alloys, upgrading the sprockets, upping the shock-abs, etc... the list is limitless...
mods, imho, are like noses... everyone has one but nobody's is perfect & there is always scope for improvement [from the p.o.v. of the 3rd person ;-)]◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
If u plan to do off road, then stick to rims n tube tires. Alloys tend to break at the slightest impact. Thatz y none of the off road bikes cone with alloys or tubeless.

re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
I have the givi box on my Impulse. Used it on my last yr Leh trip. Rock solid n very useful . The tail part on the impulse has the mounting for the box plate and no mods are required to fit the box.

Yes you are right .I realized it later. i will give Cree a go after next service.

In this thread, Bharat has put on pair of 10W Cree leds for around 5-6k. I guess output of that would be at least 300 to 500 lumens.
Whereas you would be paying 2700 for single led with 2W, 146 lumens light which requires battery and you have to take it off your bike when parked if you don't wish to find it missing.

re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Vaibhav, I didn't face any issues on the bike until I hit Zozilla pass. Also the bike did struggle a bit at Khardung la n Chang la.
There are few things which u can do if u majorly go to ride in the mountains.
1. Remove the air filter manifold (if there is not too much dust in the area)
2. Change the inner/primary chain sprocket to 15T. Stock is 17T. (Best option if not in super high altitudes).
3. Reduce the main jet size in the carb or do a wire mod.
4. Exhaust mod is also an option. But be sure to tune the carb if u doing an exhaust mod.

re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
HI Vibhav,
i am also from shimla and a proud owner of IMPULSE. I would suggest go ahead with your decision to buy this bike. It will be fun to ride on those kaccha roads outside shimla. though i live in mumbai now but can assure u that with a miner MOD in carb with wire thing you will be fine.

re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
I have no idea about motul ss 10w30 but the oil put by hero service centre lasted for 5300 kms out of which last 1600 kms wer mumbai to goa and malvan etc. wich was very rough riding keepin 85-90 kmph constantly. Infact a mechanic checked the oil and said it can still be used for some odd 500 kms. But i didnt want to put stress on my darling, so got it serviced (still free services left) and they changed oil. So i guess the interval should be around 5K but its recommended you change it every 3.5-4kOriginally posted by mayukh92 View PostWhat is the drain interval for the 10w30 MOTUL SS? my Friends suggest that semi synthetic oils lats till 5K

re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Hi Impulsers,
I need some info from you guyz...
How good are the impulse stock tires in wet & dry conditions??
Are those tires also good for normal cornering..By normal I mean not knee-sliding...
Could you guyz share me the brand & its size details of both front & rear tires..
I personally feel impulse have the best all-terrain tires in the indian market...---------------------------------------------------------------------------

In dry condition the tyres are very good, not the best though, while in wet condition they are average.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostHi Impulsers,

Ceat tyres 90/90 R19 front and 110/90 R17 back.
The tires mite b capable for cornering, but its the high ground clearance( hence high centre of gravity) that will throw you out if you do a sharp corner too fast

and would like to add its one of best bikes for touring in India because of its great suspensions and upright riding position; attaching a pic of the new sticker on bike
