    Thats okay, I guess.

I hope none of the other impulse owners experience dis problem....
others are also facing similar problems. you can pm them and see if they got it fixed.

ok i guess i will do that, and i genuinely dont feel that the reason for overheating has anything to do with the exhaust being close to the engine and i feel the same amount of heat on the other side as well i guess there is some fault with the bike which must be fixed by the hero people.......

        How much clocked now?

        • yea the heating prob is there..
sometimes i even get 'plop' sounds from the exhaust (like when starting up on cold mornings) and feel the clutch to be a little sticky and gears stiff as the engine gets hot

in the past two three days i rode a bit rough, heavy traffic lots of bumper-to-bumper riding and so i covered time on flyovers.. 75-80kmph
in the process i took kinda of a big jump on a speed breaker i cudnt see.. THUD! so apart from the tuckk-tuckk sound from the handlebar.. i am now getting a tick-tick-tick sound frm the engine as well when it revs (reminds me of my frnd's old bullets tappet sound.. irritating)
bike feels bit wobbly in straight lines as well.. as if every little imperfection of the road is felt upto the seats..

eagerly waiting for 2nd servicing.. 2500Km done till now

          • I got my green trailblazer today . Rode some 60-70 kms with 5-6 kms off road. The bike is ultra comfy as expected. I also felt the heat on the right side coming from the exhaust. I also heard the "thud" sound when going over sharp bumps.

Did some off roading on a sharp S gravel curve , once i throw my leg on the inside , shift weight forward and give it gas , the rear wheel spins and comes in line and then I can come out of a turn at a good speed. love the feeling of slides . now I need some gear for off roading

I intend to do running in at 5k rpm till 500-600 kms . then 1k rev up for every 500 kms .

Both sides don't heat up the same, just my observation.
I have done 2700 km on Odo, and bike gets hot but not too unbearable I think. Its only in city traffic but not that bad on highways.
I think we have to live with it. ( I have been using shell FS 10w40 since 1500km on odo, its only marginally better in cooling the engine than earlier mineral oil. )

Yep, the gear box is bad. Some times it gets clunky and doesn't shift well. Esp, if I do hard braking while in 4th or 5th gear, then shifting it down is hard task. I have to rev a little, move the bike a little and at the end shifting is still hard and tough.

Congrats Niks! Enjoy the ride and ride safe. Mine is same, green color.
I heard that 'thud' sounds after first 100km. Nevertheless, this seems to be some peculiar issue with Impulse. Hero got to do something about this and gear box.
I bought body armour and knee guards but didn't go offroading yet to use them .

              • There are small niggles, heating is not so much, and regarding the gear change issue ... Yes I have also experienced the same sometimes, and the thud sound is generic, I always feel as if the fork is loose... But I don't want to touch the setting. Rest all things are superb.
Has any one tried using premium fuel rather than standard unleaded one? I found the bike's performance better with speed petrol. Anyone else with similar experience?

Is that Pune Warrior stadium at Gahunje? Do we really need an Impulse to get there or regular bikes can make it too ?
Advice is a form of nostalgia.

                  • guys what do i do about the clicking sound issue
usually happens when engine is hot say after a few kms of riding
feels like the tappet sound.. -tick-tick-tick- which is audible whenever engine is revved, not so much at idling

also, which engine oil is to be bought? manual says savsol..
oil was last changed at first service at 600Km
they used their own hero-honda 10W30 one (made by savita i guess).. yellow-box of oil..

Buddy Same Problem here with my impulse.........The "THUD" sound appear sometime but sometimes it doesn't......when going through potholes or bumps..... Also when revs the bike, vibration coming out from Steering triple clamp.

And when i rode my impulse at speed of 100-110 kmph for around 2 hours on N.H.-8 the sound Tick-tick-tick appeared but when i ride to city traffic say around 80 kmph, sound did not appear. My initial guess about the sound comes from Valve.
