I am not sure whether it's 300 mm, cause by just the look the size seems to fit 280 mm, but will measure and confirm.Originally posted by R-series View PostYes you're right on the part that it is 300mm.
source - 200 Duke - Technical Details KTM (this is India specific)
Yes, everywhere else it's written as 280 mm. I also think it's 280 mm actually.Originally posted by Doga View PostYeah, the website says 300mm. But the manual, which is also India specific says 280 mm. Incidentally, the european manual also says 280 mm for the front.I don't know which is true until I take a measurement myself.
The comparison with the other bikes were made in jest and should not be taken seriously. Both of them are great bikes.
I live near Saltlake. Can you please name a few areas near Saltlake and Rajarhat? Also do tell me where near Bhawanipur it is available(I often go there).Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postnitrogen is available in kolkata at a lot of places... On a second thought I am now least interrested in Nitrogen. Actually just checked the Nitrogen in Tires section/Thread in TeamBHP. After many controversies few of the members and espicially the super duper "GTO" himself explained that there is no visible advantages in using Nitrogen in our cars and bikes. Anyone who is in doubts can surely check the TBHP thread. Also putting few logical comments/thoughts from that thread here -Originally posted by AnupamOnWheels View Post................I live near Saltlake. 1. Air contains 80% Nitrogen and the Nitro filling pump can offer you 88 - 92% Nitro. To obtain 99.9% Nitro it incurrs huge cost and machinery. So some 10% more nitro can't produce huge advantage IMHO.
2. Nitro is only used in F1 cars and flights, coz they involve so much rigourus running, speed and friction that the temperature increases a lot. You can't produce that temp in our normal cars and bikes even after whole day cruising in 100 - 150 KMPH.
3. The pressure fall/leakage from tyre is less than 1 or 2 psi, so not a major concern.
4. No visible effects on performance/road grip/ride quality as such. No proven fact is present.
So, I am not going to use Nitro in tyres and will save my hard earned money(to spend it somewhere else
).
Mods, sorry for back to back reply, but I intended to reply seperately to show change of my mind.

Aaahh... so its your post i read on FB that went viral a few minutes of posting. I must say its a terrific mod and a must do for all dukers.Originally posted by hunkofgals View Posthey guys
ive made a custom made
radiator guard to protect the radiator from small stones and mud
What i am planning is to make the guard a bit longer which will protect the engine casing as well as the coolant pipes (rubber ones) which might get hit by stones or gravel. Any pointers from your side are welcome.
Did u ride the bike after the radiator guard, how is the temperature management, no heating issues ?30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Guys, anyone facing noise from engine similar to tappet sound when the bike is hot. The sound is there when cold, but lower in intensity.Last edited by Janesh.J; 05-24-2012, 01:33 PM.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Might be most probably timing chain adjustment issue. It comes when you start the bike itself, more prominent when its hot.Originally posted by Janesh.J View PostGuys, anyone facing noise from engine similar to tappet sound when the bike is hot. The sound is there when cold, but lower in intensity.

i uploaded in xbhp first and then in FB
i didnt get any response here as much in FB
.
yes i drove the bike after installing , there are no heating issues
hmmm in my opinion dont try to extend the radiator guard it looks horrible and as if its flying in air with no support instead get a mudflap extension to the front fender and ur done
but still if u wanna give it a try go ahead
thanks manOriginally posted by abhisheksircar View PostNice video for duke owners. Sorry if it has been already shared.

I was thinking to fasten it to the two screws which attach the spoiler.
as for mudflap, how do we attach that to the front fender, we will need to drill holes or use some sticking solution.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Maybe the owners are too happy with their acquisition.Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostI am surprised to see on how come we are not coming across any posts on the performance of the bike vis-a-vis competition(Read: Drag test/top speed etc) in this thread inspite of this bike being touted as a performance oriented machine.
Missing the good ol Pulsar/Apache/R15 comparo posts!!
I don't want to offend anyone and I respect and love any and every bike ever produced, but seriously, I think by most of the auto magazines and websites the fact is already established that by looking into every aspect - KTM Duke 200 is a real overall winner. In Less than 1.5 lakh range it's a sure shot winner and if you consider CBR250. Duke is again a winner by maybe a little margin. The most exciting thing about Duke is it's feature vs value graph. Truckload of features with less price.
