Have anybody tried putting a pass light switch? I came to know from the dealer that, it doesn't have any impact on service or warranty. If somebody has done, how much was the cost and want to know if there is any impact to the stock battery?

Had a 40+ Kms ride in Blr city. This vehicle has excellent maneuverability (flickability or whatever). I could able to save myself from nose poking autos and mad indicas (only taxis). I felt that ease of maneuvering came as combination of handling and brakes. Both are excellent.

This will void the warranty I guess.Originally posted by neobiker View Post

Void of warranty has become a sole decision of the dealer. Some are saying installing a HID doesn't void and dual horns are already up on many bikes and so on. So, as far as your dealer is good for installing a pass switch, you can go with it.The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

I wouldn't trust any dealer who gives a verbal guarantee, they might flip when you later go in with some other expensive claims under warranty. Unless it can be given in writing, I wouldn't trust any dealer enough to go for these mods before warranty is up. After warranty, I plan to install the CBR250's entire switch gear, if possible.Originally posted by neobiker View PostHave anybody tried putting a pass light switch? This is exactly what I had planned to do! My dealer is not trustworthy in service itselfOriginally posted by sumeshpremraj View PostI wouldn't trust any dealer who gives a verbal guarantee, they might flip when you later go in with some other expensive claims under warranty. Thanks all for the suggestion. @mulli84, you are right pass light is installable, but no kill switch.
Even then, I am going to wait for warranty to get over. Post that, I will plan the pass light.
Went for a 80kms ride. Bike performed flawlessly, very good top end. I was wondering this mini 150cc Engine has so much power. Ride was comfortable, no wrist pains or back aches.
I am nearing 500 kms, planning to give for 1st service, any suggestions or something I need to specifically mention the service guys to check for? Because other than tightening the RVM i have not done anything in the bike.Riding 17.6 horses out of which 5 horses work in the city and other 12+ horses wake up after 6k rpm and run after 8k rpm

Am very proud of the hassle free ownership.

Just make sure the oil gets changed., chain cleaned and lubed.!!
And for more points on the things to do in first service, refer the back of the free service coupon! The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

CBR250R, as VFM and cost-cutting as it is, still has quality switches. I'm still pissed off at Honda for shoddy switchgear on our bike after charging a premium. I hate the cheap look of the whole switch gear, also the weird placement of switches (light switches on left side?!). Everytime I see the bike in parking lot early morning, the day just gets better and brighter for me, and then I straddle and see the switchgear, and just feel shit.Originally posted by mulli84 View PostThis is exactly what I had planned to do! If possible, I want the whole CBR250R switchgear, I don't care if it costs a bomb. Yes, that pissed %@#&$!----------

Compared to a certain green 250 cc monster, I think we can all agree Honda had to cut some corner to price the 250R so aggressively. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing - in India, certain sensibility and practicality wins over sheer performance any day, as can be seen with the 250R's success.Originally posted by aargee View PostWould like to see what're they; can you list them pls?----------

YOu do realize that the CBR is locally manufactured yes? And that the Ninja is imported hence carrying additional duties and making it twice the price yes? There is no cost cutting in the CBR. Its a single cylinder and hence the cost of manufacture is relatively low compared to a twin cylinder engine.Originally posted by sumeshpremraj View PostCompared to a certain green 250 cc monster, I think we can all agree Honda had to cut some corner to price the 250R so aggressively. Like aargee said, do list the cost cutting measures you have noticed. I would like to hear about it too.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Dude! U made the 250R owners a lil raged! (I think they are not). CBR 150 does have shoddy switchgear.See, we Indians are so compromised. Thats why all companies take it for granted. Install the same switchgear in US bikes! They will take the company to the court itself! WE will never do that in here. Although such switchgear will never be installed in US.Originally posted by sumeshpremraj View PostCBR250R, as VFM and cost-cutting as it is, still has quality switches. And I took for a short ride n ny bike today and felt there was something slowing down the acceleration!. Also i feel the front is swaying when I take a turn! I did hit a pothole around 40kmph last week. Gosh! Im planning to take the bike to a tour during Diwali! And for the odo in bike , I did 4277 to be exact. @Jade, you will overtake me bro!
Atleast Honda should consider the pass light switch inside warranty! I dunno whats the problem in the placement of the light switches in the left

Some dealers have given verbal assurance about giving warranty after installing pass light too (see previous posts), but I'm not too sure. Better not risk it, especially as we are all buyers of the 1st year.Originally posted by mulli84 View PostAtleast Honda should consider the pass light switch inside warranty!
