Actually, I went to ASC today and met the CBR specialist mechanic named Khan. He confirmed that, the name of the part that is missing is called the silencer protector rubber. As usual both Saffire honda service centers didn't have part. May get after 1-2 weeks.

During chatting with him I asked about the run-in. He said, we don't need anything like that for 150R as it is pre-seasoned R engine which does not require initial pampering.
Ok, so we do have a name for it, learning of the day.
Meanwhile you can try to fit in temporary rubber protection mate to minimize damage to silencer.

I believe Honda engines of 150R and above don't need the run-in pampering. The only thing that needs to be taken care of is to go easy on the throttle, use engine braking and lesser sudden stops, rev it easily, not to red-line it often till the first 800-1000 kms. This should be good enough.

Thanks bro, I will try that. I enquired in couple of 2 wheeler spare parts shop and showed the person for any temp rubber, they said, I need to contact the honda service only.

Also, I added the seat cover because people tamper with such bikes in public parking spaces. It is better to have that. The seat cover guy had done a very good job, it looked more closer to stock seat cover.

In addition to the I bought the Yamalube chain lube for the chain. The CBR specialist mechanic told me to lube the chain every 300-500 kms. He told, simply clean the chain with old tooth brush and just apply the chain lube.

Rs.250 for the seat cover. Initially, he showed some 2 or 3 materials. We need to pick up one and he will stitch in some half hour or so. I picked the material, which looked close to stock and attracts least dust. That guy had done a real good job.
for Blr guys, if you want to do the same, it's a small shop just next to masjid in 9th block jaya nagar.

Quick question, have you guys fitted a tank pad. Because I felt the need for that as my belt is touching the tank whenever I go with a pillion and that might cause paint peeling or something like that. Any thoughts are welcome.
one random guy in a spare parts shop suggested that P200NS stock rubber pad which is little thick and comes as stock in p200ns is good it seems. Have to check that.

          • CBR150R Stolen n Recover

My bike was stolen a week back however after a huge effort which included lodging an FIR, my bike was found.. The thief had tampered with wiring(key lock wire to be precise) to get the bike to start and failed. He hid the bike nearby and fled Due to my prompt efforts and help from neighbors and police it was found otherwise the thief would have fled the next night. Currently my bike is at service center undergoing repairs
Life is an Open Road For me..

Take care man. My cousin told me that Yamaha and honda sports bikes are common targets for thieves. Even Ron syl's R15 v2, LE got stolen. We have spent so much in bike and cherish it so much, it's high time we figure out a way to keep it safe. I had bought a extra wire lock to lock the rear wheel with the frame.

                Ideas are welcome.

                Happy Diwali to all xbhp'ians.

This may sound as an extreme step but has anyone thought about GPS trackers on a bike??

                        Or

else a GPS tracker made especially for bikes: http://sonikgps.in/gps_bike_tracker.html

                        • hi frnds,

Got the bike serviced for the 2nd time @ 2300km. Total cost was 570/-. The bike feels better, smoother and the gear changes are more precise and lighter now.

                          Regards,

Why the switchgears are not being replaced by Honda on the CBR150R. It's really ridiculous on Honda's part for stating CBR150 as a premium product and treating us as some stunner customers. Something needs to be done on this part as well.

This may be true as some people in 250R ownership thread had this front brake problem in the STD versions. Even aargee had mentioned that he got into the trouble because of the front brake effectiveness. Not sure, whether this is the cause of the trouble.

Let us hope, honda should not come out with anything like this for the 150R..

I have crossed 1000 kms and bike's engine has opened up quite nicely. Will upload pictures on some minor changes done.
