The switchgear will not be changed. In this thread, I saw a post saying that Honda wont replace the switchgear for everyone. I seriously wonder how the press didn`t take up this switchgear anomaly during the Auto Expo reveal of the CBR 150 R this JAN 2012. And the same press says that the switchgear is not perfect after the bike was officially released. Why they cant comment about the shoddy switchgear in the Auto Expo?Originally posted by akash3009 View PostWhy the switchgears are not being replaced by Honda on the CBR150R. It's really ridiculous on Honda's part for stating CBR150 as a premium product and treating us as some stunner customers. Something needs to be done on this part as well.

Dont think that you will get good treatment just because you spend more money.. Someone's 250R is dumped with 150Rs too..Originally posted by pachurai View PostDuring my first service - they did treat my bike well,, there was a senior guy who inspected my vehicle. when i went for second servicing - my vehicle was dumped with Activa's :-) and they see no difference between a 45k bike and 1.5 lakh bike ... :-(

That was just a response to a comment which said CBR owners are treated like dazzler.. am not expecting VIP treatment anywhere - not such a nitwit.... Anyway, think vehicles must be treated well if you spend such a huge amount,, you can't treat a Honda brio and CRV same,, can you??Originally posted by muztariq View PostDont think that you will get good treatment just because you spend more money.. hye, yeah the brakes are a little disappointing. They could have increased the feel. On this note though, my bike is 2 weeks old, but front brakes have already started making a squeaking noise. On examining the front disc, it seems there are scratches cutting across the normal circular scratches on the outer edges of the disc. Planning to take the bike to the Honda service center tomorrow, but it seems like to me that the front pads are wearing out abnormally fast. What might it be because of ? and will this be covered in warranty ?

As I have completed 1100 kms, I wanted to put my thoughts about owning this seabiscuit. My usage is 35 kms daily commute to office which includes both city traffic filled with some 15-20 speed breakers and highway.
Looks: This bike looks very proportionate and neatly designed. Over and above, I have done the minor changes on my orange colored baby blade
1. Removed the saree guard.
2. Removed the front number plate assembly (which was infamous among many reviewers) and stuck a number sticker in the lower part of the visor.
3. Added a tank pad.
4. Added a Tailor made a seat cover.
Attached the pics for the above.
Engine: What to say, if you want me to compare, it’s a bruce lee in a tuxedo. For people who have the impression of less low end torque etc, if you just play with your 2nd & 3rd gear, this baby breezes thru like a silent cheetah. Extremely smooth engine, as silent as a Honda Dio below 8k RPM with fabulous manuverability. In a highway, 6th gear cruising is a blissful experience. Above 8k rpm, screaming starts you can feel the surge in power there and feel that you can smoke any two wheeler and some 4 wheelers also. Fantastic piece of machinery. I can say that I am spoilt by the smoothness and super refinement of this baby blade.
Gear box: Very slick, very smooth and slots perfectly well in all gears. As commented earlier, it has a very short 2nd and 3rd gears. Very Long 5th and 6th gears.
Tyres: Very good sticky MRF tyres having good grip and sense of safety in all surfaces.
Brakes: The Nissin brakes in the baby blade is precise, very effective, saved me from couple of panic braking situations and unknown potholes. Both front and rear ones are equally effective.
Ride & Handling: One word, Spot On. After riding P150, this racing baby was a quite a transition for me. Ride is too good to enjoy both in city and in highway. No vibrations even at 130+kmph in the highway. If you are going in a highway, you may not feel that you are crossing 100+ kmph, that is the level of refinement and ride quality that this baby blade provides.
Comfort: When we spend a premium amount for a product, one key factor atleast for me is comfort which no doubt I got ample in this bike. Even though the riding position is slightly aggressive, but you won’t feel the wrist pain or back pain. Seats are broad and comfy. Pillion riders should thank Honda for thinking about them while designing a performance oriented track machine. In essence, comfortable for city and highway riding.
Switches & Electricals: Very powerful headlight, Good throw in high beam. MF batteries. Switches may not look premium but I don’t care much because it just works.
Issues faced: Till now only trivial ones, often the RVM holder gets loosened. After first service, Silencer protector rubber was missing. Couldn’t get it in Honda ASC, waiting for their stock to arrive.
VFM: Many commented that this is not a VFM machine. From my perspective, I felt that it is money well spent considering the reliability, Honda engine quality, ride quality and the performance you get. 1100 kms might be little early to conclude that this is a maintenance free machine. But maybe I will wait till 3k+ kms to conclude that. Like any other bike, one has to do basic things of maintaining the chain and washing the bike.
KDH: Wondering what is this, short form of “kitna deti hai”, in full tank method, I have got around 38-42 kmpl. If you rip in 5th gear to 10k rpm, you will not get more than 35 kmpl. With sane 6-7k rpm in 6th gear you will get 40-45 kmpl.
Safety: I got an additional wire lock as we have had some sport bike thefts in our area. Also, I saw a front disc break lock for Rs.350/- in PIT stop, in Richmond circle in Bangalore. Want to know has anybody tried that, if so, how effective or is it worth purchasing.
Verdict: Finally, I want to say that I am not here to compare with R15v2, duke 200 or CBR 250r. Every bike is coming to the market for specific target audience who have their own passion/purpose for different activities like track riding, touring, commuting etc. My take is that when you have purchased a bike, enjoy the riding to the fullest with adequate safety and maintain it the way it has to be. With that said, my verdict is CBR 150R is a perfect all-rounder which can quench the thirst of a sporty commuter, track rider as well as a tourer.
PS: All the above thoughts were based on my experience. I am neither a Honda fan boy nor influenced by anybody to write the above
.Riding 17.6 horses out of which 5 horses work in the city and other 12+ horses wake up after 6k rpm and run after 8k rpm

A Bad Day.
Yesterday night, my Bike was parked outside my house for an hour or so. Someone "PLAYED" with my bike and dropped it on the left side and then picked it up and ran away. Father parked it in the garage in the night. Today morning, when I had a look at it, I was shocked. Left fairing had a scratches and a big CRACK (cry) and the left cowl (I don't know what it is called) had a crack too. (Pics attached).
Really disappointed with the build quality.
Is it covered under Insurance? If not, what will be the approximate cost?

Craziest reply ever.Originally posted by rkakkar View PostDrop a Ninja on the road and see if the fairing cracks or not. What did you expect it to do, bounce back?
Had a chat with ASC people and they said that it is covered under insurance. Some 200-300 INR insurance processing fees. But they don't have green color in spares.

Sorry to hear that man.. Many people fiddle around if they see a new bike. Not sure, this is very common in apts and in public places.Originally posted by StylishKiller View PostA Bad Day.

Please check with the honda ASC/insurance, I am not sure whether the body damage is covered in the insurance.Riding 17.6 horses out of which 5 horses work in the city and other 12+ horses wake up after 6k rpm and run after 8k rpm

...My baby also got dropped in parking lot twice and once had an accident. But No crack on fairing like yours, had many scratches though with broken mirror, tilted hadle bar and many more
No worry, Yes it's covered under insurance. For cosmetic part (like in your case) it's 50% they cover and for main engine part it's 90%(as told to me by Bajaj allianz Ins. co.).Last edited by kuntalnag; 11-22-2012, 01:56 PM.sigpic
