  • ok, now coming back to what the thread meant for, I just got my bike back after second service . Beleive me everytime when I leave the bike for service and get to see her back my joy doubles . waited for 2 full days and it is worth. Bent removed, engine oil changed (synthetic, honda recommended, Rs 504), back clamp, coolant topup, fork worked on, chain lube(obviously, water wash)...well guess what is the wage?.

    Rs 891 with taxes.

    Break up follows

    Engine oil - 1 lt- Rs 504
    Coolant top up - 200 ml - Rs 50
    Chain lubricant - Rs 200
rear mudguard clamp + bent remove - Rs 100
    Tax - 12.36 %
    Total: Rs 891

Overall satisfied. Clutch was tight and on request they loosened. Poor water wash

ASC - Didar Honda Egmore. Good suggestion by Aargee sir.

Even i completly agree with u bro . It's not the age which matters but the fact that are u responisible with ur ride . And i believe that guys without licence are more careful since they dont want to get into any trouble .

Even i dont hav a licence but am plannin to get the bike by mid oct . My parents trust me with the bike and that is the most important part here .

        @All:
Chill members he is right on his part!! This is XBHP issue!! why Xbhp don't have a birth date feild in regisration form ??
This means xbhp allows for the people to join even if they are minor!!

Birthdate feild should be mandatory and present in forms!! So that there should be forum ethics!!

Jagadesh got the chance, so he is hear and sharing his story!!

If there would have been a mandatory field and Jagdesh had done some con then we could have reported it to admin or mods. but there is nothing like that!!

        So let Jagdesh enjoy xbhp
This why we said it's clearly wrong parenting!!

Don't mind!! We are here to educate people about safe riding and right rules and Laws!!

But some boys like you come here and announce that you all are under 17 and start undesirable things here!! What's the need for you to check a TopSpeed?? Did any one asked you ?? There are many forum riders who have already noted thier best top speed!!

        it's 140+kmph...

Please we will reques you to not take advantage of parents and do such things here!! You are already riding a bike with no license under 17 and top of that you are annoucing here, you will test the top speed!!

Riding is learned with lots of experience. Top Speed, handling braking techniques judgements all comes with hard core riding experience with some real scenarios, not with some 1-3 yrs of exp.

Comon bro You should jus look around the globe and see tat most of the countries provide licence by 17 but in India we cant update a 1983 law ( copied from UK ) . That is d reason why so many are breakin the law . And dont think tat it's a minority tat's doin it !! I live Bangalore where every good college has almos 70% of their 11th nd 12th ie 1st nd 2nd PU students havin some 2wheeler !!

        • For some extra safety, i threw away the old vega helmet and Bought a LS2 Phobia.

Thought of buying LS2 Blade. But phobia looks hot when compared with Blade. This helmet costed me around 2900rs. (chennai)

Welcome to the club!. Tell us something about your bike and yourself. When did you buy it? What color ? Where are you from ? ...for a better understanding.

got lot of experience with bicycles but new to world of bikes , i know how to ride and occationally rides my uncles bajaj ct100 (now he changed to discover 125 st )
                    and about cbr....
its awesome.. most of the fellow riders can be seen in the rear view mirror..
and i have not tried to cross the limits.. rides carefully and does speeding only while overtaking..
for safety i have ls2 esprit 384.2 helmet.. looking forward for more riding gears..
bike is great and feels the power only in upper gears after about 50 kmph.

Well, XBHP doesn't promote riding without license. My advise, stay put till you get the license. Your parents trust you only because you are their kid. Its more of an emotional touch rather than abiding the law. No matter how safe you ride, you are breaking the law. Suppose you are riding safely and an idiot rams into your bike and you get caught in an accident(I hope that doesn't happen to anyone). There will be a Police complaint for sure and in this case the other person can easily blame you if he has license and can dump all the accident responsibility on you. In this case, a lack of license will end up as a penalty or punishment for you. For sure your parents will come to your rescue, but would you want your parents to talk to a Police offcial who talks nothing but rudely?

I am sorry if you have to take it with a pinch of salt and if I have ignited that hatred in you or any non-license holder guy/girl. This is just to keep you safe from getting into any kind of trouble.
                      Regards,
                      Akash Yadav

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

Seems like you are very much threatened by previous posts and the subsequent backlashes..you are introducing with age here .

You wanted to know the do's and don'ts while RUN IN period.

                        1. Dont do sudden acceleration.
                        2. No full throttle open.
                        3. keep RPM <= 5000 (but not constant) . See that you rise the speed gradually till RPM shows 5000.
                        4. Fill only normal petrol.
                        3. You will get plastic burning smell for max 200 kms. Dont panic, later it will be ok.
                        4. Avoid contact with water when engine is hot ( you will be tempted to clean your bike ).
                        5. Clutch will be notchy till 3000 plus kms, you have to live with it until.
                        6. Leave the bike for servicing promptly as instructed in manual.

I think I covered maximum, other members also will pour in their ideas.

                        Ride safe.

but in some other post it was told that 5k is not the limit for cbr..
and it seems correct since it has a dohc engine , which means it should be revved hard to get power.
i thought it would be around 7k comparing the range of rpm meter.
and the cbr mechanic told that there is no limit like 5k for this one. just be gentle while accelerating.
                          what should be the conclusion??

Yes u can take it to 7k. How much on odo now? Better rev hard after 200 kms. On side note, don't give it to anybody to drive! Do the acceleration gradually.

I also heard so for CBR 250R, but since another experienced member also agreeing with you, decision is yours.I kept it till 5000 only and there was no necessary for me to go beyond. Its up to you. No harm anyway. CBR is rev friendly.

Dont start ignition until the speedo comes to 0. (i guess they must have told you)
