    1. i find some difficulties in gear shifting.. getting some noise while shifting up or down the gears.. not so smooth.. gears are not engaging in neutral so easily. i have to turn off the key and do it..
    2. sometimes i get high power in first 2 gears. sometime very low power. irrespective of pillion.. why ?
    3. I am not so confident with my rear brake. it does what my old passion Plus did .. nothing special.. then what is the difference between disc and drum types ? even if i put full pressure on brake plate (only rear) i dont think the vehicle get stopped. is there anything wrong with my bike ?
    4. chain Lubrication period ? can i get it done from the local mechanic near my home ?
    5. it is in run-in period.. i am riding my bike between 50-70 kmph ... is it fine ? after first service till what speed i can go ?
    6. when to give for first service & second service ? how much SVC would charge for 1st service approx. ?
    Thanks,
    Alwin Raj

    • Honda Makes Minor Change To CBR150R Switchgear.....

The company has quietly rolled out an updated version of the switchgear on the Honda CBR150. Now don’t get excited, it’s not the one from the CBR250R, nor is it an entirely new one with an engine kill switch. The CBR150R switchgear does have a pass light switch but what it lacked was a dedicated switch to just turn on the pilot lamps and tail light (aka parking lights). This was a serious omission but the switchgear has now been updated and is available on the new batch of CBR150Rs.

        CBR150R owners,

i think these all happened because our effort only.... many of the CBR150R owners including me here had sent mail to HMSI regarding low quality switch gear, missing pass light and engine kill switch. but that picture shows only passlight added in existing switch gear. Still the switch gear looks pathetic,...now guys send mail to honda to do it for free of cost for existing owners....

Now these switch gears are directly copied from Honda's Dream Yuga which is even more cheaper than the previously copied Honda Stunner...It would be better if they copy the witch gears from its elder sibling Honda CBR250R...

Mostly gear shifting gets smoother after the first service with engine oil change. But just one question in which gear you hear this sound ?
is it for all gears and all rpms ?

                  • Guys,
I was away for sometime., and 'll be the same for the next couple of months.

@Alwin : What DhivyaSharan has replied 'll be apt as answers.

@all ., that switch gear info from Motorbeam.com., it almost a false information. Don't spread it without confirmation guys.
Those guys have mentioned the old switch gear as new and some other switch gear as the old one.,
Moreover, if it were a typo, the new switch gear is of no use, as you can't turn on the pilot lamps individually.
It's the switch gear of some bike that doesn't have any pilot lamps, viz., CB Shine.
But as the fairing is visible in both pics., it could be some local mod by someone.
And, do check with your ASCs for concrete info. Mine doesn't report anything like that.

'll try to be in touch.
Feel free to ping me @FB.
                    Ride safe guys.

The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

Still honda is not ready to provide some good quality switch gear for a bike costs 1.4 lakhs ... What is the use of pilot lamps, if it can't be used seperately ??? Honda should provide the switchgears of 250R in 150R also ...

For Question 1. All new bikes will go through this. During your first service, inform the ASC mechanic. Let him check it and certify it. But usually till 800-1000 kms the gears will be little tight in any new bike. Currently after 2nd service, gears are butter smooth.

Question 2. In this bike, you always have to have the RPM minimum of 3-4K. Even before a speed breaker also, it is better to increase the RPM and reduce it during traversing the bump so that you need not downshift to get the pick up. Initially, you need to do it consciously but after a while, you get used to it.

Question 3. Only front brakes all the time, rear ones are for support purpose only. If the bite of the rear is really bad, ask the ASC guy to ride and check it.

@Alwin, trust me, I also had many of the above concerns till 1000kms. After my second service (2500+kms) I feel convinced about this bike and sort of feeling spoilt by the smoothness of the engine even during 120+kmph speeds. I am not boasting, just get used to the bike till 2500kms, after that you will see all together a different animal (on a positive way). Hope other owners will concur with me.

Either this should be a botched up job by SVC(In case they might have broke the original switch of the CBR150R and replaced it with another bike`s switchgear) or if its done by Honda itself, then im puzzled with the Honda engineers.

Why a bike with pilot lamps should not have a switch setting dedicated to it?? Makes no sense. Im seriously doubting my first assumption!!
