This bike is best suited for touring as I use it only for touring as I take a lot of long trips. I got the TVS tires. Most of my one way trips are 400 kms. I even did a 660 km single trip. . As AKASH noted in the thread, the TVS tires are not perfect in wet roads, but it rides decent. As for long trips in dry roads, it is pretty good. I rode the bike on every worse to best roads and the tires didn't give me a problem.

P.S: There is a perception with most of the people that TVS tires are not good, but I think they are a good product considering my previous experience with their tires and the quality of them.

As for the engine, its great and never tires. Once it ran around 100kms plus continuously, the bike is a charm to drive. Braking response is good too(For me its the front that are great).

The omission of the pass light is a letdown as its important in highways. I myself was frustrated 2 to 3 times in highways.

The headlight is perfect and has a wide coverage.

They say starting the bike from a stop takes lots of revving because of low torque.. So is there anyway how we can increase the torque?

Also, do u face problems without the pass switch?

Yes, when ur riding the bike around 80kmph and suddenly if u immediately slow down(panic braking), and if u engage the first gear, there will be not enough power(U feel there is a loss of power). There is no way to increase the low end torque as the engine is designed in that way.

The pass light is not a big letdown, but if it is included in a future revision of the CBR150, I will immediately change the switches.

I got a 46kmpl during my long ride in run-in period as I was driving the bike mostly in 70 kmph max! During my recent long ride I drove constantly above 100kmph and it returned a mileage of 30kmpl. I mostly dont care about the mileage as this bike is meant to be revved high and that's where the fun is.

Hi friends, I have a doubt. Will Xena XX6 disc brake lock fit into CBR150R? Has someone used it?

I own a 200 Duke and a xx6 orange fits just perfectly. Guess it should fit the baby ceeber as well.
Also (I remember, if i'm not wrong) u can check out the xena site they seemed to have a manual with detailed specs and stuffs.

Is it safe to cruise at 4k rpm at 6th gear? Will it lug the engine?

Yes it will lug. My advice, Try to stay above 5.5k at all times in all gears.

By the way I had my fourth free service at 10,000+ kms yesterday. The service guy said that my maintenance was good, and everything was in perfect shape. But just after that, today I found a tok-tok sound from the chain and front sprocket. Will have to take it back to SC i guess. :P

CBRs have new engines that come with FS oils as standard, isn't it? I mean, the 250 does come with FS as standard. I thought 150 has the same set up.
Anyways, 5k is the limit we oldies prefer before switching from mineral to SS and 7-8 before shifting to FS.

But I still can't believe that 150R doesn't come with FS as standard. Or you want to downgrade?

I dont know if its fs or not but does that mean honda oil is fs since that is the recommended oil by the manual or not?

It does come with FS from factory.
The comparo of price of Honda oil for other 150ccs and 150r shows that clearly.

I am planning for Around 3500- 4000km gap. If the vibrations are irritating, tell them to fix only that, and change the oil and consumables later after a month.

                          Guys need help here....

My turn signal relay has gone kaput and needs replacement.
My babe is currently in an SVC@Blore and they don't have it in stock.

Do any of you guys know, where exactly the turn signal relay is located.,
so that I can manually replace it with some third party relays.?

Also, any suggested third party relays and places to buy in Blore.
Am still new to Blore and need your help!

Not sure, but should be under the seat. That's where it is in my bike. Unicorn's/Karizma's should be a direct fit.

Daniel - I noticed that my bike was beginning to run rough as well. It became so noticeable that I resorted to checking the motor mounts. No issues there - everything in order. I even brought the bike into the shop to have the valves adjusted, but the clearances were fine. The vibrations were getting so bad that it became irritating and aversive to rev the bike due to vibrations and noises coming from my windscreen and through the bars. THEN - out of boredom one day I decided to change my sparkplug. I replaced the stock plug with an NGK CR9EIX (Iridium) one and on my first ride noticed the bike had been immediately transformed. No more vibration. The contrast was unbelievable. This made all the difference. It was how I remembered the bike as new. Keep in mind that my bike only had about 7000 kms on the stock plug, so I didn't even consider replacing the plug as a possible solution to the problem. And perhaps I may have experienced the same benefit had I just replaced the old plug with a new stock one. But I generally prefer the cooler Iridium plugs anyway. Either way - it's a cheap option - and worth giving it a try.

                                Mike
