        You are not alone bro!

Bought May'12. I have replaced the set once in june'13 at 12k kms.. And I guess its very soon as per googled info.

Now the second has run around 10k kms and its still in a pretty good shape! Hope it ll still hold good for ~6k kms.

You can see the difference clearly at ~4k kms. I would very well attribute it to lubing.

I was believing my first set was well lubed and maintained. Was using TVS lube. And have been lubing once every 250kms or so.

Now., my second set i've been using MOTUL and i practice lubing at least twice a week. Just a single layer of spray. It is doing it's job well.

And I hope you are changing the complete set of both the sprockets and chain together. Decrease your lubing intervals like I said., just a layer of spray more frequently. Hope it ll give you more miles. And that noise you were saying about., try cleaning and check the alignment and slack.

        Clock more miles! Ride safe!

BTW., I've only used Honda's factory chains. Have anyone here tried other brand like Rolon., or other type of rings?

I think I have mention my all confusions. Since company person statement and mechanic statements are different. Which one is true and bike odometer is correct or not?

another point is that what exactly the top speed?

          ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Boss actually my question was for new bike before first two service...how to maintain with 50kmph speed.?
and if i am going to check the top speed than what should be gear changing ration with rpm and can i maintain that position for how long time?

All bike's speedometer as well as odometer have errors. It varies with manufacturer., from device to device.. So., no meter is 100% true to what it shows!

You don't need to maintain 50 or whatever kmph for that matter at any point of time. Just don't do sudden accelerations for first some kms.

Change gear at a lil above 8.5k RPM at all gears... Red line at 5th gear., that should be your topspeed., and do it at some private roads.

You can maintain whatever high rpm you like for long enough that you'll get tired., but this engine won't complain.

On a side note., clocked 110 kmph on day two.. And have ridden above 10k rpm continuously for an hour couple of times. Still my babe gave a mileage of around 40 per liter maintaining 110 kmph on my ride to Chennai last week.

            Don't keep on finding questions.
            Just enjoy riding.

I have some issues...1. The showroom persons on the first day suggested me to keep the speed max up to 40-50kmph before the first service which i tried to maintain...but felt some less power.
                2. After first service technician suggested me that it is a sports bike so no need to worry about maintaining the speed up to 40-50kmph and you can use it freely. confusing..?????
                3. I speed up the bike max 125kmph (as per odometer) with full throttle...and felt a less power in 4 and 6 gear..
                4. Odometer is showing some false reading...we were two persons riding on different bike one pulsar 150 and me on cbr 150... CBR odometer was showing 53kmph and Pulsar odometer was showing 50kmph and the same I felt around 70 to 80 kmph...with other bikes too... if u throttle bike in comparison to speed the meter reading is faster... I am in a doubt....??? I asked the mechanic too but he said on the second service we'll check.
                5. felt less power in 4th gear and 6 gear.....if you speed up to 50kmph in 3rd gear and come to 4th gear then it simply make sound... when you speed up to 80-90kmph in 5th gear and come to 6th gear it shows simply moving doesn't give feel of more power and the throttle is over...

I have the confusion...I heard that the top speed is 147kmph for CBR 150....??? don't know exactly...
anybody can help me...sorry for any english or terminological mistake...please help...
You have to maintain lower speeds till first service. Its not a general rule, so you can gradually increase the speed. The manual says, "Increase the throttle gradually and vary the rpm`s" . Read the manual for further maintenance info! Here the so called CBR technicians are not so good in giving info, so I never listen to them. Just follow the guide and maintain her properly!

First this is a bike built for high revving and it gives performance at high revs! Shift up all gears after 8k rpm and see the difference! You will be amazed with the power! But the first gear is low in power and this bike has very low torque so the first two gears, sometimes you wont even feel the power in city traffic! Dont lug her(below 3500 rpm) and always shift gears above 4500 rpm even in city

The odometer in all bikes which has digital speedo has errors that vary with different bikes! Never think its the actual reading. For the record, I did 122kmph in my bike!

Yeah most of the CBR 150`s have upshifting and downshifting problems in first 3 gears. I once got a problem while upshifting in 4th gear. This will go away after some time!

P.S: Don`t drive with the same rpm`s continuously. Vary the rpm`s

As my dealer said, it's made in Thailand, the price when i bought is about 2$. Working good till now. Some other product from China have same functions. Hope you'll find something good to replace stock one.

                          • Extended Warranty

I have a query regarding the Honda shield extended warranty. As per the owner's manual, service interval is 4000 kms or 4 months, whichever is earlier. But as per the extended warranty record, the vehicle has to be serviced at 3000kms or 2 months. I am not using the vehicle on daily basis. So which procedure should I follow ? If I follow the owner's manual, will Honda void the warranty ? If I do the service in every two months, the odo reading will not exceed more than 500 kms.

My 4th service cost is just 34 rs in Trivandrum Marikar Honda.

I am basically from chennai, working in Trivandrm, as i was overseas as part of my job for last 2 months. I asked my friend to take my bilke for service (4th free service). when he collected the bike they charged him only 34 rs for consumables. Now I am back to india, I can see they just did a water wash to bike thats all.

I just need to know what and all has to be checked in the fourth service, can anybody please share the scan copy of the todo list of 4th service from the owner manual, so that i can raise a complain.

                              Thanks,
