Hye! This is actually because of the grade of the oil. Honda recommends 10W30. I've used that oil for over 10k kms and it's pretty smooth. Except on long running. Use the bike for more than 100 kms continously and it gets very rough. This is due to 10W30 oil becoming too thin due to higher temperatures. Also, the Honda oil doesn't last more than 3k kms before the bike becomes rough in general.

I've used Castrol 10W50 for the last 5k kms And yes, it feels rougher. And that's because of the oil being thicker, takes longer to warm up and reach everywhere. It's smoother on low revs, but rougher on higher revs, again, due to the thickness of the oil. But ride it for a longer distance, and the oil makes a world of difference after a 100kms continous ride! The engine barely feels stressed at all!
The motul 300v is an oil that is for high revving multicylinder bikes, and very thick, you are actually better off using 7100 in the CBR! The 300v isnt bad, don't get me wrong, but try the 7100 and you will see the difference and understand what I'm saying!

Hye! You really shouldn't worry. the TVS tyres are good enough for the road! Have used them extensively and the never let me down. Yes, grip under panic braking and on gravel/water isn't that great. But you won't notice it often. The MRF tyres actually have similar grip levels contrary to popular belief. The only MRF tyres better are the REVZ series. I've used that as well, and it makes ALOT of difference. They are really good! But for day to day riding and moderate corner carving, the TVS will more than do the job!

tvs tire does its job fantastic on this bike! though wet grip is a concern! however you can go with the tvs tires! they are good! especially the front 1 ! it has some serious stopping power! while mrf is grippy, in dry condition the tvs has better grip! tried and tested!

          ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

yes i got your point! today i revved it so hard! wot for around 15 minutes!and it barely showed any sign of stress! and yes in the long run 10w30 does loose its grunt however it remains smooth :P and the fact is i rev it too hard each day!that's why i prefer 10w40 motul 300v can't resist that! i see it often doing above 11000rpm! XD just love revving my sweet ride! B)

I don`t know what is the fuzz about TVS tyres? They are better in performance in dry situations. In wet conditions, it is fishy in nature only during panic braking, but I did 80km/hr in wet conditions and under normal braking it handled well. Also during wet conditions, its best to keep optimum speed and be careful all the time irrespective of the tyre.

P.S: TVS are pioneers in the tyre industry for a very long time.

This engine is first of all not silky smooth and it changes the note after 8k and its awesome after 8k really. If you dont like that thundering sound after 8k rpm, then I dont know what to say! Also your friends bike should have the note change after 8k. Or he is riding only below 8k all times

This engine is rumble in nature and I love it! I expect silky smooth in gear shifts only. I passed 15k and still have hard gear shifts in first and second gears.
I had my 3rd servicing and mobil change done at 7009km just the day before yesterday! maybe it took some time to settle down! took it for a short spin today for around 100km! ripped it hard took it all the way way to 146kmph though that was for fraction of seconds it still maintained the speed of 143kmph! after the hard ripping the engine was still smooth rather felt more settled! and regarding my friend yes his engine is super duper smooth but mine too is without any roughness! its very smooth too! its just that i like the honda mobils smoothness but then i love the motuls throaty roar ripped him thrice during drag *friendly! and i think you got me wrong! i just love the sound it makes after 9000rpm! it changes like anything! the soft growler becomes a ferocious monster after all its a high revving unit and let me assure you i just love revving it hard! btw i changed my air filter and sparks plug though only the latter change was required! but then the air filter cost was just 325 :P let my engine breathe more properly!

                I seriously second that.
Was on stock TVS's for first 15 k kms. They were really good in dry.
Wet conditions, they offered the same grip levels right from day 1 to the day I changed them,
which is more than enough for normal riding if not for track.
Not even a single puncture the whole year.
I used to check air once every 2 months, and the drop would be 2-3 PSI.

Now, running on MRF, both front and rear for the past 11k kms.
I don't know, if its just me.. already 3 punctures.
And, need to fill in 4-5 PSI every month.
Grip was phenomenal compared to TVS, but that just was till ~9k kms.
Now, the rear easily locks, even on plain roads. I could sense a reduction in grip.

Am planning to be back to stock TVS the next time.
And, on a side note, I love people staring the TVS's rear tread and gettin' shocked as if its that bald!
The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

keep a check on the axle nut. it can be the case of nut not being tightened to correct torque.
also can be the due to improper adjustment of the chain tightening screws.
the most common reason is bad roads. if you ride more often in bad roads this is inevitable.
how often do you lube the chain. in good roads and normal weather 1000km is pretty fine
500km if you ride in rain or bad roads regularly. lubing too often has its own set of downsides..

chain getting loose/tight frequently also depends on riding style. if you ride with pinning up the throttle and then hard braking. it adversely and put severe pressure on a lot of components of the bike. usually i get my bike chain checked once in 1000km. sometimes adjustment is needed sometimes its not. but less than 500 km is too often. thats like 10 days of commuting for me..
