Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Yeah, true that. Even I had not witnessed a necessity to change the spark plug. It looks fine to me too, and I can't guess what went wrong in Bala's case.Originally posted by marsheng View PostI meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.
You meet the nicest people on a Honda.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Me too observed this speedoerror in my bike. I think all cbr150 have this speedoerror.Originally posted by ybharathkumar View PostMy CBR speedometer is displaying more speed than that I actually ride. Checked with GPS and compared with other bikes too. It had nearly +8% of error.
Is there anyway to correct it.
You can correct it by replacing speed sensor with perfect one by trial and error method.
Best method will be, changing front tyre with larger profile. Stock is 100/80, you can try 100/85 or 100/90. Speedoerror created by larger profile tyre will balance the original speedoerror.
But, i think there is no any special need to correct speedoerror.Live To Ride✌

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
I guess that, the speed we ride is calculated for the total km ridden. Hence if it shows more speed, the km ridden will be more.Originally posted by bala13 View PostMe too observed this speedoerror in my bike. I think all cbr150 have this speedoerror.

I think there is no seperate sensor for the total km. Even that Is calculated by the number of revolutions of the tyre.
Will that really impact?

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Lol you could have just gone to a Yamaha SVC and got hold of R15 v1 plugsOriginally posted by bala13 View Post
Today, after first start of the day my bike ran just 1km and stalled in middle of the road. After several attempts it won't start. Starter motor working, fuel pump working but bike not starting.
Then i concluded that it should be problem with ignition coil or spark plug.
Then i decided to change the spark plug by myself!!
Then i go for the hunt of ngk cr8e spark plug which is recommended by honda for cbr150. Believe me i checked every honda service center in pune but spark plug is not available. Then finally i got the spark plug from b.u.bhandari,bhavani peth service center.
After putting the new spark plug bike started in first push!!
Note:
Recommended spark change interval for cbr150 is 8000 kms.
I pushed stock spark plug till 12500 kms and this happened.
Factory fitted spark plug- DENSO U24ESR-N
new spark plug- NGK CR8E (both are recommended)
Always keep stock of spare parts like cables, spark plugs, ignition coil, relays, fuses. Its difficult to get them when we are in need

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Can anyone share the labour cost involved for changing chain + sprocket at Honda service center?
I got the chain sprocket kit changed today. I was charged Rs 1200 as part cost and Rs 800 (+taxes) as labour charge for fitting it. I think 800 is a bit on the higher side as my local mechanic does it for around Rs 100. I had to visit Honda service center for this because my local mechanic did not have the paddock stand to lift rear wheel.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
1200 rs for kit is ok but 800 rs labour charge for fitting is too much. Honda SVC's always charge high labour cost for normal jobs like this. Therefore i never visited SVC after my free services.Originally posted by abhishek.1 View PostI was charged Rs 1200 as part cost and Rs 800 (+taxes) as labour charge for fitting it.
I do all bike job by myself, for jobs beyond my limits i take help of local mechanic.Live To Ride✌

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
I will purchase the required tools (ring spanners, socket wrench) and do it myself next time. Not worth paying such high costs for a small and easy job like chain sprocket replacement.Originally posted by bala13 View Post1200 rs for kit is ok but 800 rs labour charge for fitting is too much. Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Done 15k kms in 16 months from purchase.
Maintenance cost
810 first servicing *(800km)
857 second servicing (3400km)
800 third service (7200km)
1087 fourth service (air filter change) (10400km)
2000 2nd year insurance
250 spark plug change (12500km)
1000 engine oil & front wheel bearings replacement (12900km)
Total 6804rs
Front wheel bearings replaced for my peace of mind although mechanic was saying stock bearings are in good condition.
Stock chain sprocket kit & both side brake pads in good condition!
CBR is awesome bike, you just need to do periodic maintenance. replace those parts which needs replacement for certain kms interval like air filter, spark plug, brake pads, chain sprocket kit, fuel filter and bike will run for thousands of kms without trouble!
