3) if you're going for 140/70-17, height of bike will be increased (140*70 >130*70)
4) I don't know about any good tyres in 140 specs. CBR250r comes with conti-go(correct me if I'm wrong), and owners aren't quite proud of the grip levels.

I suggest you 130/70-R17 MRF REVz S that comes in R15 v2. It's pretty good(sticky) and may cost u around 3k to 3.5k depending on where u live.
Sorry but I don't know about any 140 specs tyre that is good. Others may guide you well. And yes there will be consequences of bigger size (i think 130 is already big for the 150cc motor), but can't tell the extent of them.
Cheers!
Thanks a lot Bro... you hav really thrown a good option .. because i hav read tat r15's tyre is an awesome stick to the road. I never thought this option. And as u say 140 mm increases the bike height and gives a bigger bike feel rite.. which is what am looki for ...

Let me think again and decide.. 140mm or R15's 130...

Yes cbr 250r comes with 140 conti go... and seems many cbr 250r owners are going for pirelli speed demon and suits well..

This one cost you 6.5k around for the rear only because it is Radial not a Cross Ply, Another 140 recommended by people around here Dunlop Tuff Grip 140/70 R17 - no idea about price and availability pretty tough though (as the name suggested LOL)

But before you go for 140 is it recommended for CBR 150 ? Isn't going to hampers bike stability ?
Thanks for advice !!

Seems no one in our community has tried 140mm tyre for 150R... if someone shares their real time experiences.. i can come to decision rite...

140 wotn give you a bigger bike feel. what he meant is that your profile will change and also your gear ratios..

130/70 is lesser tyre height than 140/70 and hence it will put the bike higher from ground by a few mm
also the total circumference of the tyre will change and also your gear ratios.
it will marginally hit your acceleration.

the best bet would be going for 130/70 stock size.. fatter tyres make the ride more stable in straight line high speed runs but makes your ride a lazy cow on turns...

I say bigger bike feel in terms of look, since 250R is almost the same size of 150R. just 30mm lengthier. but the big tyre makes 250R looks like a bigger bike i guess

I have got one more doubt. If you say 130mm is too much for 150cc bike. Then how FZ is managing with 140mm tyre. So, we can try 140mm for our bike also rite.

For a 140 Section tire, you have to get an equivalent Rim. The stock rim will squeeze the fat tire and actually make it look thinner. It will bulge out further increasing the diameter of the wheel.

I said 130 is already big for the 150cc motor.
Note the bold word (difference in a/the LOL). I meant CBR150r specifically as it's pickup/low end torque is already low(unlike fz), fatter tyre might not be a good option.
In General cc's don't tell what tyre size is suitable e.g. 200cc duke uses 150 rear tyre where as ninja 250r used 130.

I think 140/70-17 tyre should fit in our 150R but there aren't much options in 140. Only dunlop comes at low price.
Having said that, there's no stopping you from going with 140. And increase of 10 doesn't affect performance/mileage drastically.

Also 140/70 tyre will raise height by 7mm [140*70/100-130*70/100]

Sorry for the big post :P

Hi there fellow CBR owners, Vinodh here from Chennai, Tambaram
Got my new CBR last month 11 Oct 2014, did my first servicing yesterday.
So far am absolutely satisfied with the vehicle. Its like a pride to own and a joy to ride.
The ride got a whole lot smoother back from first service, giving me a mileage of > 40approx (guess I do rev a bit more).

Do any of you guys know a good dealer for Helmets, Sports Jackets near to Tambaram, Chennai (well dont mind if there is a good 1 in chennai, offering at discounted prices)..
and if any of yall know some shop owners personally, do recommend them. (appreciate if could use your reference too)..

CBR owners here: Anybody have ridden the new karizma ZMR 2014? if yes, Which one is more comfortable for city use and occasional highway use?
I managed to do a small test ride of both these bikes but they were not good enough to judge,I kinda liked CBR's riding position better than karizma.
I have sent a mail to both the customer care's asking for a proper test ride.

Yes you can. I think cbr uses fully synthetic oil from the first service.

#1 Be gentle on throttle and accelerate gradually. Don't do racing start (full throttle). Cbr's manual doesn't limit you to be within a rpm limit. I suggest you to be under 9k RPM and accelerate gradually until first service.
#2 you can go for R15 v2's tyres. Rear is MRF Revz-S 130/17-17. These are good for grip. The best tyres will be Pirelli sport daemons which are extremely hard to find and are overpriced.

Friends,

I bought my 150R on Feb-2013. i have some problem with My bike self start. sometimes i had to pull it in second gear and release the clutch for starting the bike. i have been facing this issues for around 4 months. if i keep the key in on position for just 2 mins to 5 mins battery will be down and bike will not start on its own. even with lights are turned off. i gave it to the service center to fix this issues once. they said that it can be fixed by putting the battery in charge for full nite . and it worked fine for a week . again the same problem now.

Guys .. has anybody faced this issue already ..? How to fix this issue ? what is warranty for the battery .. if warranty expired how much the new battery costs ?
