Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Thanks a lot Giftonsamuel .. I have been reading this forum for a week as i was busy in office.. I came to know lot of stuffs(technically) from you guys.. This forum gave me confidence to buy the bike,,Originally posted by Giftonsamuel View PostCongrats on your purchase .
Opt for a good quality Disk lock and you can use a traditional chain &lock (if a theif still wants to steal it then no one can stop him
)
GPS tracker is now used in few commercial vehicles for tracking their location(not for safety) and it will work but not sure in a bike with a small battery .
Any electrical lock is pretty much use less and just an added gizmo.
.. Especially the frequent users , special thanks to you all.. i was in dilemma between R15 and CBR150r.. And i skipped R15 only because of the pillion seat.... i believe that i have taken a good decision by choosing this.. i contacted alomost all honda showrooms in chennai.. but waiting period was 2-3 months except in one showroom as they said only 1 week.. so i've got a chance to book there.. Will post pics once i get my vehicle..
now my query is about the lock system.. Lock system comes along with the replaceable battery.. right?? i dont mind changing the battery often. Anyhow i will look for good Disc Locks.. sorry for my ignorance.. thanks once again..

Skip the lock system its not worth the hassles .Some may even come with a dedicated battery but still its not worth it nor reliable enough .Originally posted by sdkr2020 View PostThanks a lot Giftonsamuel .. I have

Disk lock from a good brand is better because of no electrical connection .

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
For guys having the same doubts,Originally posted by v2k View PostHi guys,
any advise on insurance claims on our bike and the honda SVC...? experience..? precautions..?
I had a minor fall last week (coz of a damn travels cab having no RVM's, taking a sudden left without any turn indicators, on a f'in rainy day ! my bad, I got skidded and f'd up
). Thinking of driving a Rhino tank first to clear out these guys first and then drive the bike
damn frustrating...
The thing is, there were visible damages to the gear level (got bent), left side fairing (got scratched), gas tank small dent (on the right - dont know how that came
) and the handle bar was out of alignment (might be the clipons too).
Apparently the left rear view mirror, turn indicators and rear cowl were intact
.
I temporarily straightened the gear lever with my tools, to reach home and went to the SVC next day for insurance claim, gave the bike, registered the claim, got the estimation, and the approval on claim.
The SVC guys added an extra (unexpected) part to the damage list the front fork.
I got the estimated bills of all other guys too
, they seem'd to added this part to every other insurance claimed bike there.
Are our front forks so flimsy...? really?
They also say they can't remove tank dents (its a small one - even I know how to remove - I just dont have the tools and time), and have put the whole tank for replacement (~9k).
I think that these guys do this purposely to gain quick bucks for the parts, since its going to be an insurance claim.
Now,
It seems even the supervisor from the insurance company put the front forks for a re-check and approved all other parts.
I also called my representative at HONDA SVC and told him i need the old parts given back to me :P
any experienced advices on such issues... on how to deal with these guys ? ideas..?
Got my bike about a week back. They gave back the old parts on request and insurance settlement claims.
the forks were intact as suspected.
The only major thing was, the tank took more than two weeks to come from the factory and they dont keep spares of these.
Happy riding.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Firstly, I don't think Honda ASC's sell the spares to individuals.Originally posted by Rahul_jokar View PostHi guys,

1. Do i need to change oil filter.
2. Any easy hack to dispose used engine oil.
Moreover., 150R doesn't use mineral oil. It is running on FS as stock.
So, don't even think about using mineral oil.
Even if you are planning on getting it,
ASCs get the engine oil in gallons as barrels. I've seen it.
I doubt if there are containers even.
And in my 30000 kms mileage, I've never been charged for a oil filter change. (All oil changes with ASC)
I doubt if there is one even present.
And finally, the bolt at the bottom of oil sump needs to taken care not to be bent or something.,
on which your ride ll leak oil.
And, used engine oil SHOULD NOT (as a responsible human) be thrown in drain nor on earth !
I have no idea what they do with it.
And finally, missing an oil change with ASC WILL void your warranty.
I think I've said enough.
You know what to do.
On a serious note, let the ASC's do the job.
Be in good rapport with them.
Befriend the service engineer. Sure there will be a special guy for babyblades.
Will help you on long run !!!
Ride safe !
The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Hi Guys!
I just did first service with this machine 1 week back. Had covered 770kms so far in 35 days.
I find lot of strange things after first service and armour all waxing on my own (Issue May be not due to service or wash and waxing)
#1 Engine vibrates at 4000-5000 rpm its normal, that i read through this forum. But mine has vibrations after i cross 7000rpms.
#2 I get tuk tuk sounds after bike stopped & engine switched of. And that tuk tuk sound coming at multiple frequencies. Its possible coming from 2 or more places.
#3 As soon as engine started, there is some noise like rainy. Even without acceleration. And on acceleration that sound increases. Earlier i heard nothing but pure exhaust sounds.
#4 When i don't accelerate, i find the bike is decelerating more. Like some one is puling it back. Earlier deceleration very less on closed throttle.
All these are new. Never had these things earlier.
I checked engine oil. Engine oil level is more than sufficient. Engine oil added by Honda people. I'm not bike expert. Pls help me. I loved this bike in first month, greatly worried on it now.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Hi guys, I'm new to xBhp. I bought a second hand CBR 150R (Black and Candy Palm Green). Anyway, I was looking for a decent riding jacket in the range of 3-4k. Sparingly used 2nd hand ones would do too. I live in Thane, Mumbai and would appreciate your suggestions.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Hi guys. As of today I've clocked 6900 kms on my cbr150, and for the first time ever it's given me a scare. Was on the highway in the 3rd or 4 th gear and without warning it jumps to neutral. Any body experience anything similar? If so, is it common, serious? Dangerous? Any insight would be welcome. Thanks.

Thanks man...Originally posted by vjxm View PostWelcome to xbhp brother.

I paid 65k for my baby CBR, but have had to do some major repairs that has cost me about 40k.
She had completed 7600 kms when I bought her. Actually I didn't know that I'd have to shell out so much on repairs and replacing parts otherwise I would have looked for a better deal elsewhere. But then, you only learn from your own mistakes, sadly my parents had to pay for this mistake.
But anyway, once she's done up I'm sure she'll do great...my dad encourages me with this statement, always...
And it's the 2012 model by the way!
