its leaking and if its leaking try and ascertain the source of the leak.

As for your dealer not cooperating.. just lodge a complaint with Honda via there website.. I m sure they will make sure their dealer obliges..

I did the same once with Bajaj and My Pulsar 135LS was fixed in a day..

Just to let you know KTM Duke has oil leak issues but there is no such thing in general with CBR 150R

Dont lose heart u'll issues will be sorted in no time if you just know
where and how to escalate issues if need be

    Hello Guys,

I got this CBR 150R from KSN Honda, chennai. I got the bike delivered in this new year and run upto 150 KMS as on 06 Jan'13

Within 1 week the Coolant in the reservoir tank is below the low level and Temp reading is @ 3 bars.

I am really worried and took to KSN Service centre and they have not bothered about this issue.

    pls guide me.

Is it a harm for the new bike. Please reply.
No harm for the bike. If u have never went for a long drive in ur bike, then its harm for u. I took my CBR 150 for a long drive just 10 kms after the first service. She was at 420 kms. I took her 660 kms(300+360) .

      Points to note:
      1. Never rev her for more than 6k under 1000. (Even if u cant resist to rev, then make her rev gradually, but plz dont redline her.)
      2. Never ride constantly in a particular rpm. Vary the rpm`s
      3. Be planned to ride. ( I took only 300 km for a single day since this is my first long drive in a bike)
      4. Stuff a lot of fluids.
      5. Try to fill nitrogen for tires. ( Deflate the air completely and then fill nitrogen)

P.S : Wear a helmet and use gloves. Try to give her rest for one hour atleast.

The bike`s riding position initially might give u pain in shoulders , neck and wrists. Your body will be adjusted to it gradually. If u want, u can take pain killers.

Hey Bro . My Bro owns CBR 150 r . I just input my observation when I rode it ..

        Advantages -

        1.Riding and pillion comfort .
        2. Softer seats
        3. Gab rails
        4. Hard suspension set up . Which helps to corner confidently .
        5. Rev friendly

        Disadvantages -

        1. No power at all in the lower gears ( Needs frequent shifting )
        2. There is screeching sound from the chain
        3.Speed gets locked at 130 km/hr
        4. Build quality is poor .
        4. Fuel efficiency around 35 km/hr ( for normal riding in city )
I would like to give my Observations on your Disadvantages:

        1. I have reached the speed @100 Km/Hr riding in 3rd gear @10 RPM, eventually i locked 146 Km/Hr @6th gear

        2. So this babe drives aggressively above 8 RPM

        3. Build Quality is much superior than any other bike in this segment.

        4. Fuel Efficiency is not at all a factor to be considered in Sports Bikes.

Screeching sound in chain? Check the chain. You must lube chain for every 500 kms. Build quality may be poor, but not the chain. ITs perfect if u maintain it very good.

Temperature at 3 bars is perfectly fine. Problem starts when the 4th bar starts blinking.

                  I agree with Thiagu.

Also, as per the CBR mechanic, there is no run-in needed as the engine is already pre-conditioned. I didn't do any run in but just took care to accelerate gradually and reached 9k+ rpms.

Yes, Chain needs very regular maintenance almost twice or thrice a month I am lubing the chain. It's always better to have a near by mechanic who can regularly tighten your chains because that needs bit of care as nuts have to be tightened in tandem.
Riding 17.6 horses out of which 5 horses work in the city and other 12+ horses wake up after 6k rpm and run after 8k rpm

U should be worried when she is new. Do the first service and take her to the trip. In the first service, they will sure change the oil. Change the oil and then go for the trip! Also lube the chain before the trip.

Its not a trip actually ... I have to stay in Trivandrum for the next one year. I heard like we cannot empty the fuel for cbr 150r which means transportation through train or bus is impossible?

Impossible?? No. We can transport the bike through train or bus. Thats what my sis told when i was preparing for the return trip. But I simply ignored them. I cant let the bike through transport because I feared it might get damaged. Also some people will try to manhandle it.

About the fuel limitation, we have to keep one litre minimum, although I cant verify it how much exactly. I drove once for 70 kms after the bike went reserve. It didnt give any problem. But once after service( I gave to the ASC with the fuel bar blinking), the bike turned off two times in middle of the road. But after refuelling with Rs.300 fuel, it was gone. Even Dio scooter has this fuel limitation, but its only 300ml.

If your not worrying about the transportation, then you can transport!

I don't know about CBR 250 r .. But in CBR 150 r there is screeching sound from the chain ( even the chain is cleaned, lubricated and with correct slackness ) and build quality is poor !!

Note : This is my observation from my Bro Bike . He took his bike from Kun Honda , Adayar !!

Simple , You just go through the CBR 150 r reviews given by professionals and come to a conclusion !!

Am going on to my first service probably on next week.
As am now in a town, I was able to complete only the manual mentioned run-in of 500kms and here comes my due date to service.

                                My query is,

Can i change to fully synthetic oil now with just 500 on odo??
Heard that it'll make cooling more efficient and make shifts smoother. Is that true? Am asking this, cause, leaving it now, the next chance to change the oil is at next due service after 3 months or 4000kms. So, clarify me on this guys.

need to what is the minimum kms for 1st and 2nd service. i kept my mannual at native thats why asking....
