Replies for ur questions:
1. Keep some 2 to 3 litres in the bike. I personally dont like to drain the petrol considering this is a fuel injection bike.
2. Keep it under 60 if ur doing the ride before the first service. I did a 660 km ride(Chennai to Thirunelveli) after the first service at 440 on the odo. Vary ur rpm`s while riding. Dont push the bike and no sudden accelerations.
3. I got the TVS too. Grip is ok in dry roads, but in wet be cautious. But the TVS is generally good for me. It does not give u punctures.
4. Yamaha is in a different league than the CBR and another good machine. Im impressed by both the R15 and CBR. ITs what u choose to like and the preferences which u feel matter.
5. I cant answer this. ITs personal opinion.

hi Joel nice to meet you i am from tenkasi i have red blade..i did my 3rd service in rahabooth only..in my point of view better you take drive your bike to coimbatore.and maintain 4-5 th rpm. its 55-70 km/h tat is good for your new machine..we have bullet proof Honda DNA so it won't disappoint you at any time if you maintain properly..so get d bike and ride between tat rpm levels.and don't give sudden acceleration....when ll you get delivery any idea about tat?bcz if chance we can meet...

I dont think R15 in different league i guess..because both CBR and R15 have many similar specifiations IMO and are always brought to comparisons... it took a breath taking 2 months to decide between them ....but my Yammie fan friends are always irritating me ...so i need a strong advantage about CBR to defend myself ( Other than pillion comfort bcoz thats the only point i already have

About colour...Yeah!!!its my personal opinion but since you have experiences about ceebee i asked..and moreover i never saw a black ceebee in road or showrooms that why im scared of choosing it

Hi Joel,

Welcome to XBHP... congrts for your bike.

1. i would prefer to ride if it is less than 500 km. since it is a premium bike it is not easy to ship through bus or train.

2. you can ride. maintain less 80 or 90 kmph

3. though i have not experienced MRF .. i would suggest you go for MRF. I Have TVS tyres. sometimes i feel the lack of grip while trying to start and turn immediatly (dry surface)

4. Both are good bikes. whenever everyone asks which bike you have.. feeling very proud to say CBRRRRRR...... doesn't matter 150 or 250

5. My personal opinion in color choice (not meant to hurt anyone) orange> Red> Green > black.

orange: is an eye catcher. looks like a race bike
Red : i like it.
Green: every one likes it. here i give you an example. i asked 2 girls in my office about my bike. they said bike looks sporty but orange colorrrrr.... green may be
Black : looks simple and cute.. no one would hate it (few hate my orange). but no road presence

i would tell you to ask your father whether he like red or not... if says yes please go with it.

4) Pls give some points from defending myself from my hardcore Yamaha friends ( i am not starting up a fight again)

I would say my personal opinion(maybe I am wrong but this is what I think) - Honda bikes last double the time that a Yamaha bike would last. Old yamaha 2 strokes are good forever but the 4 strokes I think Honda lasts very long... I rode a Yamaha SZR which was new and a 1 year old unicorn recently and both felt new. I've had this same feeling from maybe like 6 or 7 years ago so it's just not based on the szr and unicorn that i rode recently. But I as I said don't go by what I say, maybe I am wrong.

5) Whether my colour choice is good (Black colour is booked as Prefered by my father though i dreamt of orange)

I asked the color question in Honda CBR150R(India) page in facebook and this is the reply I got

Vibrant Orange

@alwin ...Thankyou dude!!! I saw the photos of your orange ceebee longdays back and that lamination on the windshield is excellent......Im gonna do the same but gonna paint the windshield, indicators and dangerlight with black mist ( I already did that in my RTR with R15 fairing)....

I personally dont like red colour ( not red ceebee) and orange as you said is really an eye catcher....(orange is still there in showroom... so still brainwashing my dad)

And regarding the tyres i wrote a mail to HMSI and I got a call from them describing about the reason why the tyres are of different brand and i was assured that both the tyres has made same performance in their tests
So, now convinced to get my ceebee with either MRF or TVS

Hi every1 I own a NS and today I happened to ride my friend's cbr150. I really loved the bike especially the gear box and how the bike felt after 7k rpm, I always thought the r15 to be a better bike than the cbr but after the ride I changed my mind......!!!!!the bike is silky smooth

Joel,

I couldnt compare it with MRF, so I cant comment on this.

U,B2W are close to thirunelveli. Someday we could meet up if I come there.

About ur R15 friends, I personally think the R15 has a smooth engine and the CBR has a gruntful engine. ITs like roaring always. I love CBR engine considering all my previous vehicles had smooth engine. The only disadvantage I feel in R15 is the second floor pillion seat.

P.S: I would have got the V1 R15 if it was still in the market last year. I dislike the V2 so I went for the CBR.

About the color, the orange is an attention seeker, so it gives some idiots to misbehave with the bike. Yesterday, I went to take Xerox and a man was tinkering with my petrol tank lid. I was seeing this from the first floor and immediately came and politely asked him to not do that. He immediately left the place. You may face problems like this.

1. Please maintain atleast 2-3 liters considering it's a fuel injection engine.
2. You can ride 360 kms.. Just ensure that do not do any sudden acceleration till the 1st service. Accelerate gradually and you can drive 80-100 also as these engines are pre-conditioned ones.
3. I have MRF's but heard good feedback about TVS also as they make the tyres based on the specs given by Honda.. Should not be a big problem.
4. I love R15 also except for the rear seat and more aggressive seating position. Long rides are better for your back in CBR than R15 is my view.
5. I have orange, I like most of the color combo's. One thing, R15 does not have an Orange!!

Net-Net, this is a fantastic machine. I have done my 3rd service 6500+ kms done. Sometimes, I have to put my ear on the tank while riding to hear whether the engine is running or not. No exaggeration. This engine is a fantastic piece of engineering.
Riding 17.6 horses out of which 5 horses work in the city and other 12+ horses wake up after 6k rpm and run after 8k rpm

My personal opinion is to do the first service before a long ride.

3) I guess i am going to get tvs tyres as stock ( Pls give me review about the tvs tyres bcoz i have a personal disappointment with TVS tyres)

I am having MRF and one of my friend is having TVS tyres. Both are giving good grip in dry condition. But ride carefully through wet roads and try to avoid sudden brakes. I was more confident to ride my pulsar than CBR in wet condition. I don't know the exact reason for less wet grip. CBR is designed to concentrate the weight at the centre of the bike and may be because of this, it has poor grip and chance to skid at the time of panic breaking.

5) Whether my colour choice is good (Black colour is booked as Prefered by my father though i dreamt of orange)

Try to convince your father and choose orange or red . Because black is not a good choice for a sports bike and it has very less road presence.

After market filter wont give you any benefit in performance unless you change the exhaust.

I am a newbie to Xbhp and i have booked CBR 150r on 23 Jun ( Black std. ) Cheers, for your booking, I love the CBR150R very much but I need to wait and get it from my money. .. .

I have some questions :

1) I have to shift my bike from tirunelveli to coimbatore, the problem is, I was asked to drain the petrol if i have to shift it through bus service ( some posts indicate that i shouldnt drain the bike) Why don't you consider the second option. . ?

2) Can i ride 360 Km before first service (If i can, prefer me the safest riding style) Of course you can, but make sure that you ride it in a proper way, not ripping it, try to maintain at good rpm's, between 4-7 and also don't forget to take breaks. . .

3) I guess i am going to get tvs tyres as stock ( Pls give me review about the tvs tyres bcoz i have a personal disappointment with TVS tyres) Why don't you ask them for MRF Tires instead. . ? I don't know much about those TVS Tires which come as stock but I think if you can ask them, you will get MRF, try it. . .

4) Pls give some points from defending myself from my hardcore Yamaha friends ( i am not starting up a fight again) They are always a step behind you when it comes to speed and performance, don't worry too much and continue with your riding and after you are done with your 3rd service or so, then show them who's the boss around . . .

5) Whether my colour choice is good (Black colour is booked as Prefered by my father though i dreamt of orange) Black looks decent but if you want all those eye candies on the road to see your bike, the Orange is the best, everyone gives a second look at it, convince your father, I am sure he will agree. . .

Too many quetions isn't pls spare some time to reply me........ No probs at all
Answers in bold. . .

Cheers!!!

Hello All,

Is there any CBR 150R who has done Leh or any high mountain pass? I am considering this as my next bike but would like to get this answer first as I ride to Himalayas every 3-4 months. So, considering its low torque figure, I am not sure if she would be able to make it.

Thanks
