Since you were looking for top-speed you can go for P220 144kmhr or P200ns 136kmhr. But the main defect of Pulsars are its life. would have only 70% of a honda's or hero's life. but bajaj are known for its VFM. If you buy any of the above pulsar you could save a good 30000rs extra
I beg to disagree on this. CBR is a fantastic bike, track focussed engine but the tyres and chassis doesn't justify the sweet engine. Also, in other context, there are a lot of Pulsar owners here on the forum who have clocked lakhs of kms on their Bajaj bikes. Our very own whymail has done more than 7L kms on his avenger 200.

Buying a bike should be a decision taken by heart and not mind. If mind always rules with money, fuel efficiency and spares, one can never enjoy the biking. One will never get a BMW S1000RR or a Ducati 1199 Panigale if the decision is taken by mind and not heart.

Test ride a bike no matter if its a Splendor/CT100/Platina or HD/BMW/Ducati. If one likes it, get it. Don't justify your choice becuase your heart is with you, not the others.
I took a compromised decision of getting Pulsar 150 because of cheaper spares and fuel efficiency. I am getting 58+ kmpl for the past 2 years but I see no use of it now. I don't enjoy it like I want to. I have compromised. Won't let that happen to any of the mates here.

Dude I own a Pulsar 220F.. Clocked only 6k in a year, reason- I own 2 other- CBZ Xtreme,Suzuki Access. Now have booked a Ninja 300(planning to change the decision to Duke 390)
There haven't occured a single problem for pulsar and I'm a proud owner of it

But the fact is fact, Bajaj's life is poor compared to yamaha, hero n honda. On 2007 I took CBZ instead of Pulsar 150, and I'm glad I did it

@above post, I never said CBR150 is bad or anything. I just said its expensive. One could take easily take cbr250(non-abs) by spending 35K more(But 35k is also a big amount N some may prefer CBR150 ).I have also mentioned cbr 250, D390 n p 375. So actually I never wanted him to take a Compromised decision, only a wise decision.
Hero Honda CBZ- 2007-2007 Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme- 2007-2013

Suzuki Access- 2010 and Counting

I still can't understand how and why you say that Bajaj bike's life is poor when you have only done 6K kms in one year. Yes, Honda and Yamaha are at a different level when we consider smoothness. All the bikes erquire a bit of maintenance effort. Was there any specific problem with Pulsar 150 when you took CBZ?

Wise decision depends on what a person likes. Its not wise to go against your heart and always listen to the logical unit above the shoulder.

Well how many Pulsars can you see in the road without tak-tak sound compared to other 150cc, well same goes for Apache as well. Was a big fan of it, but its life is same as a Pulsar.
I'm talking about 70% of Pulsars n Apaches.

My friends have 4 pulsar 180 n 6 apache 180s. Out of them only 1 apache's condition is good. Other 5 bikes are worst in condition. even if they give for service, the bike will be in good condition for maximum 2 months. Regular maintenance is mandatory to those bikes compared to others

Well there are lots of points to point out and I don't want to fight in a public thread. So goodbye, Enjoy your ride mate!

Heard a good comparison between duke, CBR, and R15 from my friend
This is it:

"All the three are hot babes but the difference are
DUKE---Hot chick in bikini (hot & sexy)
R15-----Hot chick in tight jeans (hot & trendy)
CBR-----Hot chick in kurti (hot & cute)"

Interesting.... is there a chance I own them all

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. I know there's lots of reading there. But I tried to keep the story as interesting and as entertaining as possible. It wasn't that difficult to do - you encounter so many different events while touring - that the story in many ways writes itself. Many people here in Canada and our neighbours to the south - think that a small displacement bike can't be used to tour around the country. Some will strangely say that the bike (or the rider) won't be able to handle it - and that small displacement bikes can't cruise at highway speeds. I wanted to prove to them that not only could it be done - but it would be incredibly rewarding to do as well. I think I've accomplished that goal. And I hope it inspires others to tour and camp on their CBR150R. Cheers! Mike

Burning Sound is coming from my bike even if I ride it for only half a kilometer. Checked coolant, it's fine. Radiator issues maybe? advises please?

• CBR 150R engine shutting down!

Two days back, when I was riding my CBR, the engine shut off in the middle of the road. Since I was low on petrol, I filled her up after 2 kms. But after riding 50 kms after that, the engine shut in 3rd gear. AFter trying for 10 mins of starting, there was no sign of engine starting up( the starter mechanism was perfect, but the engine was not firing up). The battery was perfect, lights worked, horn too. Finally after some calls to friends, one friend sent a local mechanic and finally they towed it to their workshop./

The mechanic said the coil was completely burnt and it needs to be changed. I had no option and changed it. It had run for 20 kms without any problem. What could be the cause for this problem? Should I check again in the SVC?

Im going to take the bike for a very long trip next month, so feedbacks will be helpful.

The CBR 150 R is a very capable tourer(so does the 250R). I did a 2500 km trip after my first service. One of the best in my life. Still I tour a lot in my bike.

Check for any dirt or any stones in the radiator. Check if there are bent fins. Finally check it in the SVC for electrical problems.

Hi

My 150R is about a year and half i old.
I am looking to change its stock air filter with a K&N high performance filter.

I wanted to know if the K&N filter for 250R would fit on 150R and will it deliver performance or not.

I looked on the net for K&N filter specific to 150R and came across HA-1502. but its model year is 2002

HA-1502 - K&N Replacement Filters, Replacement Air Filter direct from K&N

Can anybody please guide me on how to go about this.
BTW I live in Pune

My advice pls don change the air filter....my friend changed his 250's air filter to k&N and suffered a lot....you have to change the engine oil every month which costs you 500bucks for ever month ..also the sound will be heard only wen you open the throttle fully( my experience with my old apache fitted with k&n)...already 150 is having good engine sound...this s only my suggestion. ....

Guys I have stickered the "honda" in the engine guard and have painted my tyres. . Why you people are so inactive??Click image for larger version
